As a founding member of Life Time Fitness, I've been with the gym since day one in 2022. Over the years, it's truly become my third space. The facility itself is beautiful, upscale, and consistently clean, with thoughtful amenities like Kiehl's products in the locker rooms that make the experience feel elevated. What really makes this gym stand out, though, are the amazing instructors. Cory for spin, Mariah for mat Pilates, and Haly, Isaiah, and Carmen for Alpha are some of my favorites. Last year, around May 2025, they introduced CTR, a reformer-based Pilates class that was a total game changer for me. I no longer needed to go to a separate Pilates studio. Rob and KO helped build the program, and they were both spectacular. Rob is rarely there now, and KO recently left the gym. In my opinion, Anisa Diaz is an exceptional CTR instructor. Honestly, she's great in every class I've taken with her, including spin and mat Pilates. No two CTR classes with her are ever the same. She's incredibly knowledgeable about the human body, has excellent flow, and every movement feels intentional and challenging in the best way. She consistently brings fresh ideas and new challenges that keep the classes engaging and fun. She truly elevated the entire experience. However, over the past few months, some of her classes have been cut, and I feel the CTR program has started to feel lacking and subpar. Because of that, I've found myself returning to private Pilates studios like Drenched OC, Anodetome, Sol, and Jetset Pilates, which are all fantastic if you're considering a private studio experience. At this point, I mainly take CTR at Life Time only when Anisa is teaching. Overall, I'm still very happy with Life Time. I just wish they would bring more energy -- and Anisa -- back to CTR. read more

I've been a member for over three years, since before the gym officially opened. The classes and instructors are excellent, which is why I've stayed. Unfortunately, the front desk experience has consistently been disappointing. There are always several staff members standing at the front, but when issues are brought up, they tend to repeat the same response instead of actually helping resolve the situation. What's even more frustrating is that when you ask to speak with a manager, suddenly everyone claims to be the manager, yet no one is able to provide a solution. On top of that, membership fees have been increased without proper notice. For a gym at this level, I expected much better customer service and communication. read more

Very rude and pretentious management and front office. They are more interested in dressing as if they are in a law firm vs helping gym members. The large basketball court is still here. The small one (that was always empty anyways) is now a room dedicated to Alpha classes, which is my favorite (take it with Daynn or Carmen!). Despite some negative reviews, I really enjoyed my membership at Lifetime. The facility is a lot better than equinox. In comparison, equipment is newer, women's locker room is way nicer, and the they offer more classes. Class duration is also also a full hour compared to just 45 mins. Had to subtract one star due to the high membership fees, but then again... you get what you pay for! read more

Very disappointing experience with Life Time Fitness. We joined based on information that turned out to be misleading (Kids Club policies were not as promised). I also spent about $5,000 on personal training and dealt with constant trainer changes, unstable schedules, and zero results. Our child's swim lessons were just as frustrating -- wrong level placement, nonstop instructor changes, and cancellations. Even the "compensation" vouchers came with restrictions that were never clearly explained. Despite raising these issues multiple times, management  did nothing to properly resolve them, while we continued to be charged. Overall, we paid thousands for inconsistent, unreliable service. Save your money and look elsewhere. read more

I stopped by to get a membership through One Pass "Kaiser Medicare" plan, but they told me that they only assign a few spots for Seniors. I don't understand why are so many restrictions for seniors only!! My friends are going to this club and I would love to join them, so far I have not been able to become a member. I've been a member here for some time, but recent changes have made it difficult to recommend this gym. The atmosphere has shifted significantly, and not for the better. My main concern is the new policy prohibiting gym bags on the floor. While I understand the intent behind keeping the space tidy, this rule fails to account for members with legitimate medical needs. I require access to medical items during my workouts, and being told to leave them in a locker across the facility is not a reasonable accommodation....it's a safety issue. Beyond that, the staff's approach to rule enforcement has changed dramatically. What once felt like a welcoming fitness community now feels heavily policed. Members are being monitored and corrected in ways that feel disproportionate and impersonal. Fitness should be motivating, not intimidating. I'd encourage management to reconsider how these policies are applied, particularly for members with medical considerations, and to refocus staff training on member support rather than enforcement. Until then, please look at club studio, equinox, or LA fitness where they value there customers. read more

I recently applied for a position and was surprised by my initial interaction with the hiring team. After missing a call, I received three calls back to back. When I answered, the hiring manager(I assume, she didn't bother introducing herself) conducted a phone screening but came across as impatient and condescending throughout the conversation. Many of my answers were met with responses such as "umm, okay," which made the interaction feel dismissive and unprofessional. I understand that recruiters are often busy and screening many candidates, but first impressions matter. Regardless of whether someone is hired, applicants deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect. read more

I was hoping for a gym that would have some peace; however, this place is not where you will be finding that. At the price point I was expecting more spots where you can peacefully get your workout in, but unfortunately this gym is incredibly packed. Be warned that they don't offer tours at the time you need and they will lie about how busy they are. I regret signing up for this place and albeit, it is my fault; however, I wished they offered some grace when you're barely using it. This place is truly uncanny. This place is also unusually warm. I'm not sure if this is a tactic to get people to leave sooner. Also, if you are touring, make sure you're touring with the same gendered staff. Been working out here since they opened three years ago. They told me since I was a founding member, my monthly membership fees would never increase. Well, that was a lie because I recently got an email saying they would increase it by $20 per month (which would've made it $320). I tried to get a hold of a manager to discuss this and never got a call back. This was the final straw for me for an already subpar gym experience. I used to like this gym because it wasn't crowded, the hours are good, and I enjoyed the steam room. Things have changed though. It's extremely crowded now until around 9 pm. The other members don't re-rack their weights, leave empty energy drink cans, water bottles, and towels at machines, and leave their used towels in the steam room. The staff seems to do their best to clean up, but it shouldn't be their responsibility to pick after members like that. This is some bad gym etiquette that you find everywhere, but it seems to be worse here and for a way heftier price tag. I also don't like that there are a lot more wannabe influencers filming and taking selfies at this gym when there are other non-consenting people potentially getting in their photos (sometimes in the locker room). If you want to avoid this, you need to go late at night, but you'll still see this behavior sometimes. A lot of people that go here are mostly there to admire themselves in the mirror instead of work out. Or they hog machines just to sit on them and stare at their phone for 15 minutes because they think just breathing gym air will get them fit. It's frustrating to have to pay so much to deal with behaviors worse than what you see at a 24 Hour Fitness. Another thing I noticed is that they start cleaning the floors at around 10 pm (they close at midnight). It's a safety issue, as someone can easily slip and fall or injure themselves on a machine with wet shoes. But you sign a waiver for injuries, so they'll never be liable. For how expensive this gym membership is, they should not be cleaning the floors while the gym is open. I would have to wipe my shoes off with a towel before doing things like leg presses, and having to walk to the rack to take back heavy dumbbells was sketchy, especially as someone with a chronic back injury. I was terrified of slipping and re-injuring myself. This place just cares about your money. If you're a serious lifter, this isn't the place for you. I enjoyed my time here for awhile, but the things I used to like about this gym either no longer apply or just aren't worth the money anymore. Last warning for the ladies... I once saw a man in the women's locker rooms. Yes, a man. He had a beard and everything but apparently his lip gloss and rainbow shirt made up for it. There were CHILDREN in the locker room when he walked in. They ended up changing the rules so children need to go in the family locker rooms which is good, but what about the women? I brought it up to the staff, but they didn't care. read more

This club used to be one of the best in Orange County. Unfortunately, management seems determined to run it straight into the ground. Getting rid of the basketball court is the clearest example of how out of touch leadership has become. It was one of the few amenities that actually built community and set this place apart. Removing it in favor of generic gym space is a baffling, short-sighted decision. If I wanted a soulless, cookie-cutter gym, I'd pay half the price elsewhere. I am endorsing Yong Tak: I am a 66 year old woman who, due to injury and knee surgeries, have no meniscus and ACL in one knee and osteoarthritis in the other. My personal trainer and coach, Yong Tak at Lifetime in Irvine is the best I've ever had. He's a pleasant person who understands my goals, is attentive , and very knowledgeable. He tracks my progress and plans future workouts accordingly. With his encouragement, I feel safe, comfortable, confident, and capable. Results: After one year with him, not only do I experience significant strength and improvement in my physical health, but he is specifically training me as a serious powerlifter for my age group to prepare for competition. read more

I've been training with Yong for a few months and the progress has been real. I started off struggling with basic resistance band workouts, dealing with poor posture and back issues. Fast forward to now, I'm down 15 pounds, noticeably stronger, and lifting heavier with way more confidence. Remembering how my fitness level was initially to how it's progressed is amazing. What I really enjoy about Yong is how dialed in he is. Every session is tailored to where I'm at. Whether that means adjusting for limitations or pushing me to the next level. His focus on form and posture has made a big difference not just in workouts, but in how I feel day to day. He keeps you accountable, makes workouts challenging but not overwhelming, and actually gets results. If you're serious about improving your fitness, I highly recommend him. read more

Life Time Fitness positions itself as a premium, member-centric athletic club, which makes the recent removal of the basketball court disappointing, particularly because it was done without meaningful communication or member consultation. The basketball court was a well-utilized amenity for a significant portion of the membership. Eliminating it and replacing it with new amenities may align with a different strategic direction, but removing a core offering without surveying members or offering alternatives undermines the value proposition Life Time promotes. The impact will echo in member retention. Based on discussions within the member community, over 100 members have indicated they are canceling or have already canceled their memberships as a direct result of this change. That level of attrition suggests this decision materially affected a meaningful segment of Life Time's customer base. Premium memberships should come with transparent decision making, advance notice, and member input, especially when changes significantly alter how members use the facility. This change feels top-down and misaligned with the "community" messaging Life Time emphasizes in its branding. I hope management reevaluates how it handles significant amenity changes in the future and engages members before making decisions that affect long-standing users. read more

I was looking for a new gym and decided to check this very hyped gym out. Sadly, it did not live up to the hype. Parking is easy because there's a huge structure so that was great. On to the gym, the concierge/front desk was a nice touch, the walkway and bathrooms are very aesthetic but the actual gym is where it went downhill. The weight section is mediocre and very small. There are maybe 5 benches for free weights, a plethora of machines but so close together you can hold hands with the person next to you if you wanted. Oddly set up where you can't help but lock eyes with anyone directly across from you. They had one sanitation station that I could see and nobody wipes down equipment which is kinda gross. Even at 6am this place was packed and we spent more time waiting for things than working out. It's a large space but poorly laid out. The cardio area is massive so if cardio only is your thing, this place is for you. If you're going to lift, this place is not it. Machines aren't the greatest either and for a lifetime fitness you would think it would be higher end. For $300/mo I think there are WAY better options out there. My day pass was $50 and I honestly wouldn't even pay $50/mo to join. Sure it offers bells and whistles but I'm looking for the meat and potatoes which this place skimped on. Unless this is a convenient location for you, I'd invest my time and money elsewhere. read more

Ah...is this location cursed or is it just me? I have not visited this place since January 1, 2024 and I have left this place on extended leave due to medical reasons. For past six months since July, I started working out at smaller gym and saw the results. Here is why I nix this gym to one star; A) The recovery option. While new places popping with sauna and cold plunges, this place lacks any of them despite having such. huge space. It amazes me the arrogance of the management on not acknowledging that the sauna is built to suited maybe 5-6 people at one time and there is no cold plunges, B) Yoga Studio: I tried yoga there about ten times; the only good instructor was Wei, C) Cycle Classes: Small studio like do great and big studio like Soul Cycle pack riders like sardine pack and class is full of energy. This place lacks any energy D) Personal Training: Your cardiologist and dermatologist charge less than this place. I can get best personal training by great instructor at $100 and this place charges $175+ for mediocre trainer. E) Pilate studio: Not part of membership and way over priced F) Front desk staff: Courteous and nice but one or two of them are arrogant, G) Live Cafe: It is actually the bright spot of the whole place, H) Trainers: some good ones, some OK but most are very good. However none worth hiring as personal trainer, I) Class Options: GTX is OK, Alpha Conditioning is very good, Cycle is dead, Yoga is a JOKE and the main issue is that instructors are not free to inject their styles into the routines, J) Fitness Director: He thinks he knows it all. Don't criticize him because the dude will lose it badly; Just tell him that he is the BEST. He is open only to praises :) Overall score: 1 out of 5. So why so low and only one star? Main reasons are lack of recovery, small sauna, smallest steam room and boring and deadly routines almost in every class; A big gym with ABSOLUTELY ZERO SOUL. After a failed attempt with a coworker to try this place out (she has a membership and wanted to take me in as a guest), we decided to show up and have the front desk help us out. Alright so this place is next to the freeway in Irvine. It's surrounded by restaurants and you park in a parking structure. On the day we went, no parking pass or ticket was needed but I skimmed the sign and it appears that there is a 3 hour limit. This is inconvenient for those who want to take multiple classes and study or work from the laptop in the facility. Anyway, my first impression was that its a luxury gym. The first floor includes the dressing rooms, family area, life cafe and salons, and some lounge areas for working. The second floor has a few fitness rooms, basketball courts, and gym area. The pool is outside in a beachy club area with ample lounge chairs. I was told alcohol is served in the pool area as the pool becomes a beach club over the weekend. We tried out a class called MB360 with Kristen I believe as our coach. The class was not easy but it was good and keeping us moving the whole time with very little rest made the hour go by fast. We went to the cafe and ate there next. We ordered a smoothie, a hazelnut latte, and a Margherita pizza. I asked what was their sweetest and creamy iced coffee and the worker and I decided on an extra sweet hazelnut iced coffee with extra ice. It was pretty good. The pizza did take about 25 minutes to come out and we only had 5 minutes to eat before the next class so we decided to just take our time to eat and catch up instead of rushing into the dance class. When the pizza came out it was all cut up and put in a togo box. I was expecting a round pizza because I didn't togo our food. Thank goodness the pizza was decent tasting otherwise I would have an issue. The food items came out to $35. I still left thinking this place is a luxury add on to anyone's life. It's comparable to equinox and between the two, I wouldn't know which one I would choose. The fact that this closest location to me is in Irvine is still a bit far for me especially with traffic on weekdays. I wouldn't go as a regular member because it wouldn't be convenient, but I believe you can do $50 day pass which I might I do monthly but I would have to stay for several hours to justify the day pass. read more

I've been a member at Lifetime for over a year and a half, but after a recent incident and the way management handled it, I no longer feel safe or respected in this gym. While using a leg press machine, a male member tried to take over my space despite me saying I wasn't finished. When I stood my ground, instead of moving on, he chose to harass me. He berated me repeatedly, argued with everything I said, and ultimately exploded -- screaming at me and calling me demeaning names in front of others. It was aggressive, humiliating, and frightening. I immediately reported the situation to management, expecting a premium gym like Lifetime to take member safety seriously. Instead, their only response was to place a note on his account that if it happened again, his membership might be revoked. He was never asked to leave, never held accountable, and I was left feeling like my safety was secondary to keeping his business. When Elvis Daniele, Membership Concierge Manager refused to handle the situation with competence or integrity the issue was escalated to the General Manager, Devin Sunil Samtani, he assured me he understood, committed to revisiting the case, and promised to call me back with a resolution. That call never came. Two weeks passed, and my own follow-up messages have now been ignored completely. The lack of follow-through is not only unprofessional but makes it clear that management hoped the issue would simply disappear. For the price members pay, this level of disregard is unacceptable. Lifetime talks about valuing member wellbeing, but their actions show otherwise. As a female patron who was harassed and screamed at, I deserved more than empty promises and inaction. I sincerely hope corporate leadership investigates, because this location has failed to protect its members. read more

I would not recommend purchasing a large personal training package at Life Time, especially at the Irvine location. I signed up for a 100-session training package through Melissa T., who was wonderful and supportive at the start. But after my original trainer left, I was completely on my own. For months, I called repeatedly, trying to get reassigned. Everyone kept telling me that only Christian Lozon, who is in charge of matching members with personal trainers, could match me with a new trainer, but despite all the outreach, I never heard back. I only recently learned, through my former trainer who no longer works at Life Time, that the reason I was ignored is because my discounted rate ($120/session) doesn't match what most current trainers charge. Because of that, I wasn't allowed to book through the app. But no one ever told me this. Not Christian, not Melissa, not anyone. I was simply left hanging with over 30 sessions unused. The only time someone from Life Time reached out to me was after I submitted my membership cancellation. That's when Bella from concierge offered to help, but instead of being scheduled through the proper system, I was just texted the personal number of a random trainer. At that point, I had lost trust in the process. To make matters worse, no one has ever responded to my questions about a refund for the unused sessions, not even with a "no." Just silence. Life Time markets itself as premium, but this experience felt unprofessional, opaque, and dismissive. If you're considering training here, I'd strongly recommend starting with a small package. Because once you pay in full, you may find yourself completely unsupported. $120 x 100 = $12k paid $120 x 30+ unused session = $3,600 -- sounds like lifetime needs the money... what goes around comes around ;) read more

REMOVING BASKETBALL COURT. One of the most loved, most used amenities. Lifetime Basketball = 2 successful basketball leagues, 100+ members, the culture, comradery, etc it is MORE than just a court. We also pay extra money to use the court/leagues! Despite 200+ signature petition and emails, management/corporate just doesn't care and they're completely out of touch. Supposedly replacing the court with a "Hyrox" area and more squat racks. Hyrox is a FAD/Trend, and the gym does NOT need more squat racks, I'm at the gym every day and they're always available squat racks. The gym just added a new ALPHA CON area that is NEVER used, it's so empty that people use ALPHA Con area to take selfies more than anything! The same with all the yoga/dance studios - hardly used, mostly used for selfies! The mismanagement and corporate dysfunction blows my mind...I plan to CANCEL my membership immediately when they remove the court. read more

This review is going to be unordinary in the fact that I'm not rating the gym experience itself, but the experience of procedures and staff of the gym. I arrive to pickup freight as an LTL driver. The freight is behind the building and loaded on to pallets that are broken and unable to be moved with a pallet jack. Not the end of the world; I call in a flatbed backup to service our customer (lifetime gym). Now I'm stuck waiting for my coworker to arrive with his flatbed/forklift. I need to use the restroom. I'm told I need to walk considerably far around the building to the front entrance. Can't use the receiving entrance like 99.9% of all other business. Then I'm looked up and down after I politely let the front desk know that im a external customer thats stuck there waiting to service their pickup. I'm told I need to provide ID, telephone number and email to use the restroom!? It's absurd. I get hoity-toity establishments and the like. I've stayed at the Ritz a few times and the like, but come on. There's a point where common sense hospitality should be practiced. I would never, never be a customer here. I'm a new member to Life Time and cant say enough good things about one of their dynamic stretching trainers - Teo! I've dealt with years of shoulder, neck, and back pain and have seen many doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, PT trainers & fitness coaches, acupuncturists, etc. They have each helped me in small ways but I honestly feel like Teo is who I should have gone to first. He immediately pinpointed the root of the problem and explained how I've been overworking the wrong muscles essentially, which causes pain in different areas. He taught me so much including proper form, effective stretches, exercises I can do on my own, posture awareness, even talked about meditation, and hydration. Ive only had a couple sessions with him but you can already see a difference in how my shoulders sit and how I stand. He really knows his stuff! I'm so glad I was referred to Teo and I would highly recommend him for anyone dealing with random body pain. read more

I worked with Theodore (Teo)and was impressed with his stretching techniques. He has a great understanding of body mechanics and knows exactly how to target tight or sore areas in a way that feels effective but never overdone. His approach is thoughtful and personalized--he takes the time to assess what your body needs and adjusts the stretches accordingly. I've noticed a big improvement in my flexibility, recovery, and overall mobility since incorporating his methods into my routine. Whether you're recovering from a workout, dealing with stiffness, or just looking to improve your range of motion, I can't recommend Teo enough. His technique is top-notch and has made a real difference for me. read more

Unbelievable that a gym that prides itself on being "Community Focused" could possibly think about removing their number 1 community. The basketball court at Lifetime is home of hourly pickup games and two highly competitive and engaging leagues. This basketball community at the Irvine location is objectively the largest community within the gym. However the Corporate side of Lifetime believes that adding fad workout studios will be better for their "community driven" gym. Rather than wanting to stand out as one of the few premier gyms in Orange County with a basketball court, they want to fit in with the other fitness studios that average 3 years before going bankrupt. Personally, as a younger member of this gym, I have made many friendships and have gotten advice and guidance in all walks of life through dialogue conducted at this court with this basketball community. Taking away these courts will not only break up this community, but in the long term it will also prevent younger members from joining as the gym will not have any incentive for people under 40 years old. Is it worth losing an engaging community and hundreds of thousands of dollars annually (among an extreme number of negative reviews online and through word of mouth) in exchange for a fitness trend that will be irrelevant in 18 months? Hello I am a lifetime member for over 5 years. I was at Laguna and transferred over to Irvine. Loved my experience over here to start but a couple things bothered me. I'm usually not disgruntled enough to comment on Yelp but I have to now. 1. Someone called me a "GN" (rhymes with Ray digger) 2. 2 guys had intercourse in the steam room when it first opened. 3. They are taking down the basketball court when they have many people at different times of the day, playing 5s there. They are being greedy pigs. And for that reason I have to be out! read more

Very disappointed with Life Time Irvine's decision to remove the basketball court. This wasn't a minor concern -- nearly 150 members signed a petition asking management to reconsider, and it felt completely ignored. The way this situation was handled left many of us feeling dismissed, and honestly, it's hard not to feel like race played a role in whose voices were valued. For a club that promotes community and inclusion, this was handled poorly. read more
