Garage door would come down and go right back up on its own (May 2016). Called B & B on recommendation from another homeowner in my complex. The problem is intermittent, but I read online that it is hitting the concrete too hard and travel limit needs to be adjusted. It actually occurred while the repair person was present. Supposedly the problem was repaired, but I asked for a warranty and was given 30 days. Problem kept reoccurring and called within 30 days. Same person came out to see it, but could not offer a solution except that I consider replacing motor. To this day I have to wait about 5 seconds after door closes to make sure it doesn't go back up again. $40 charge. Last Friday, January 13, 2017 my garage door cable came loose. Called B & B again. Same repair person came out to fix the problem. No more than 10 minutes of work and charge was $100 which I thought was excessive. Hope I do not have anymore problems with this garage door motor since I have sunk $140 into it. If I have anymore problems I will replace it, but will not go with B & B. read more

Best key replacement and locksmith you can find in town! I lost my keys during traveling. I have back up keys for most of the keys except my husband's car key. Went to a hardware store for a quote, they said they can't make a car key because it has a chip in the key which makes it harder. Thanks Yelpers' recommendations. I needed to get some of my keys copied. I was able to park right out front of their business. I was the only customer at noon on a weekday. I was in and out within 5 minutes. I also liked their selection of key rings and key chains. I ended up replacing all my key rings to colorful ones. With 4 keys and 5 key rings, I left spending around $10. Also, I tried going to home depot to have these keys copied, and the copies NEVER work. I confirmed that my copies form B&B work! They accept cards, paypal, apple pay, etc. read more

This is the only place close for miles around Monterey Park that can work on barrel keys. Actually they pretty much do all types of keys. My key encasement on the Lexus broke and I was on a panic trip. My husband had a barrel keys made some time ago so we decided to chance hopping over there. Within minutes the young man at the counter had it repaired and the cost was only $60.00, compared to the dealer's price...was a bargain. I was so happy and pleased with his service that I wanted to buy a key cover to help his sales but the attendant inspected the key cover I had on and said 'this is still good, just come back when you need another one' honest guy. Great service, great prices, and convenient location. I brought in a safe where I lost the keys and combo, they said it'll cost $10 to open. I waited 3 days for them to open it and they charged me $40. How did they open u asked? But slicing the back off. It was useless to me! I got mad I said you could save both you and my time and let me know if it required cutting. They said the key was old and there's no way to open it. They were gonna charge me to close it up and I protested so they didn't charge. Good cuz I was about to give one star. I feel bad because their business seems slow, their safes in the store have a lot of dust collected. I said okay I'll buy a new safe, but it was WAY overpriced. I went to 5 other places before coming to B & B.. what a hassle.. I needed to make a few copies of spare key for my new gate lock. Apparently since it was some special order gate lock it was harder to make a copy of the key. I found B&B on yelp and was hoping they they would be able to make spare copies for me that would actually work. I gave the young gentlemen my key and he said he could make it no problem. I explained to him that 5 other places said the same thing but after making the copy it didnt even fit into the hole. The gentlemen took another look at it and didnt understand as to why they didnt come out right at the other places. He made a copy and told me to try to see if it'll work. After testing it at home... it worked! I was so happy that I finally found a place that could make it for me. I went back a few days later and got several other copies. They installed a garage opener at my house, they put in some cheap ass unit that struggles to open my garage and I called and called them on several occasions and they still haven't fix it. They are Crocket ppl with no customer service support what's so ever. Don't bother with them, hire someone that is a professional that actually knows what they are doing and knows how to properly installed a garage opener!!! read more

yelp, where were you when i need you 10 years ago? when i first bought my house i drove around la trying to get a copy of my fancy medeco house keys. the problem is that only full service locksmiths have the equipment to make the copies for you (you also have to bring in your title) these days most hardware stores can only make simple copies and are not going to be able to duplicate your car keys if they have a theft control transponder chip in them. when i tried to get a copy through my dealer (wondries nissan), they wanted to charge me $180 to replace my key and to program it. I bought a replacement key off the internet and B+B copied it for $14. when you need a real locksmith you should probably call B+B. they also have a large selection of floor safes and can install security measures in you home or business. just a note... finding B+B on yelp really shows how useful it is as a service. compared to opening up the yellow pages or a simple google search will only give you results that are gaming the system (a2z locksmith, adana locksmith, a7 24 locksmith, a24 hour locksmith) if you call any of them you realize they are just dummy addresses and in your neighborhood that are routed to that locksmith who probably still lives in their parents basement. using yelp gave me actual businesses that really existed and saved me a day of driving around town! read more

Willie is the man!! So after 10 years the original 2007 Honda keyless entry fob cracked and broke. Leaving me with only the valet key. Went over to B&B and had me out the door and back on the road in 15 minutes with a new key. Even made a return visit to get another spare key made and programmed for a 2012 Honda CR-V which we only had one key for originally. Again Willie had me out the door in about 15 minutes. I came to B&B Lock thinking that I would get this done quickly and I support local businesses - I needed about 4 locks changed. 4.5 stars is usually pretty telling about a business. To my surprise, the service was very poor - beyond shocking actually. I first contacted B&B Lock, got a response for a price quote, and then asked them some questions. I decided on using them and asked about dates they could come via email. No response for 3-4 days so I email them back asking if this means they won't be assisting me and for an update. They email saying they missed it and then asked for my schedule. I told them that I was available on Saturday between 11am-3pm, and they said they could send a technician between that time, but without giving me an exact time. I responded by asking for an exact time and they said they couldn't really give an exact time and I expressed that I couldn't just sit around for 4 hours waiting for a call. They finally decided on 2pm, which ended up not working for me because during their slowness in getting back to me, I scheduled another appointment during that time to do other things. I respond asking if 3pm would work and they give me a response complaining that I'm not giving them my availability, without confirming if 3pm would work. So I then ask again, does 3pm not work then? They respond asking if 3pm-4pm would work. I had already said 3pm would work, so I'm confused why they are asking. They ask me to confirm before noon if the time would work and I confirm at 10:33am via email (this is all documented and I'd be more than happy to post screen shots). Then I get an email at 12:15pm stating that my appointment was canceled. I call them immediately to ask why and they said it's because I didn't respond. I forward the email to them showing that I did respond and they tell me they are booked for the day and couldn't provide service anymore. This is all over a 3 week period and they couldn't get their act together. The best part is that they didn't even apologize! This email correspondenc was with some man named Van. If you're looking for a locksmith, it doesn't hurt to try them out, but if they are wishy washy or don't respond the first/second time, I HIGHLY recommend just dropping them and looking elsewhere immediately. Otherwise, you'll waste your own time trying to give them business when they don't even want it. Anyways, the point of this point is to encourage the business to improve their customer service. Today I used this company to repair my garage's broken springs. I called them a half hour after they opened and the person who answered the call was polite and courteous. He took down my information and a guy named Ricky called me back within the hour and made an appointment to come out the same day. Even though it looked complicated to me to fix, he knew exactly what he was doing. He had the parts in his truck and got it working again in an hour or less. The fee was reasonable and it appears to be solid work done. In fact, I used them a couple years ago for a different garage door issue and the same guy Ricky came out to do the repair. He was great then and he was great today. I don't think he is the owner but since he works for them, this company has definitely met my expectations again. read more

I called B&B Lock to repair my DoorKing gate intercom. It didn't work for quite sometime. The technician, David, fixed my intercom keypad. It has something to do with the wiring. Smart Key for Toyota Camry Hybrid I bought a used smart key off Ebay and called around to the dealers = $175 Norwalk Toyota if it can be done they said, Longo Toyota said $90 so I went there with an appt, after 45 min they told me it cant be done for that price because its a used one and they have to reprogram the car to the keys = $275 so I searched the internet and found B&B called them and told them what I have = used smart key they said $80. No way I thought but I went and they have the equipment to reprogram the cars computer to accept the used smart key, everything works doors, trunk, push button start, remote start. I live close by and went in person to tell them what I wanted. diagnostic on keypad schlage lock, they sold me a new battery just in case the one I was using didn't have the amps (I had replaced a dead battery and then the keypad failed to engage the lock, key still worked). In person I was told they could come by the next day or next week. I told them fine and went home to try the battery. No good. I called to make an appointment and was told they are too busy to take any new work. You can guess what I said to that. read more

I have now used this store 3x. Since Armstrong in So. Pas has closed. This is my new go-to place for several reasons; one i had a hard to replace key-they were able to make a copy for a reasonable price. Secondly, I had bent a key and could no longer use in the lock. They straightened it out-AND DID NOT CHARGE me. Quite accomodating. 3x was to get some information on good security locks. I'm happy to have them around. Its a nice size store w/a good inventory. As Home depot now has automated machines as do Ralphs- Getting copies at these places are hit and miss. Nice to have a local locksmith. Highly recommend B&B. read more
