Last time Joel added some support "struts" to the door and this time in a completely unrelated repair he replaced the door spring which breaks over time with age. I was lucky to catch Joel between jobs and he came out within 1-2 hours. We have security gates and had good communication with him on text to get him in. He is a super nice man and efficient worker. He finished the repair in about 15-25 minutes. I did not have enough cash on me to pay him the exact amount, so he told me to forget the relatively small difference because we are repeat customers who will call him again as need--that's how a good businessman does business. Hopefully our old door will last a while longer, but if it needs another repair or to be replaced, then we will definitely call Joel. If you need help with your garage door, we definitely recommend you give Joel a try.

I replied that I would like an estimate to see how much it would cost before I decided if I can get it fixed. I was told to text him photos of garage door. I texted him the photos and video of the garage motor. He stated it look like I needed a new garage motor. When I questioned him why he never responded back. In addition, I told him that my sensor had been knocked down and when I hold the garage opener down the garage door opens completely and if I hold down the button again it closes completely. Rude on the phone, non responsive on text after I asked why he thought I needed a garage motor.

After fixing our door he suggested we get the springs changed because they're old and it'll eventually snap. He gave me 2 prices. One for basic and one for heavy duty. We were hesitant as it was expensive. He said let me call my boss and see if you can get a discount. Literally minutes later he said we can get a deal with the heavy duty. We moved forward with it. When he was done he said we should also get a new motor. He can give me a discount as well. At this point my husband was working and I said I'm not going to make big financial decisions without him. Later, my husband went to inspect the work and saw that the springs used were not heavy duty, they're color coded. He called and asked for the manufacture of the springs to confirm durability which they refused to disclose. He was then quickly offered a partial refund. Due to this experience my husband left a negative review. We originally chose this company because of the positive yelp reviews and felt we wanted people,like us, to be forewarned. Now they are calling us from multiple phone numbers, came to my house while my husband was at work, and left us a threatening voicemail if we do not call them back. Needless to say, as a woman with small children, I do not appreciate the unexpected visitor. This harassment has been going on for days. They threatened to come with the police and lawyers because they're not going to service us anymore. I don't understand as the service has been done and paid. We will no longer work with you in the future. We've already looked into calling our local police department if this harassment continues and have saved our call logs, Google doorbell camera videos, truck license plate number, and voicemails. If we need to, we will contact the BBB. Under the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CFRA) this form of retaliation is illegal for businesses to behave as such. It's a shame instead of learning from their review and doing better for their customers they choose harassments and threats.

The store is also well stocked with door knobs, padlocks, and other home security items. Highly recommend!

My garage door wouldn't open so I got on Yelp and started searching for local businesses to help. Garage Door Doctor had great reviews so I gave them a call. Kenji answered right away and set up an appointment to diagnose my issue the next morning. He was very knowledgeable and explained the solutions to me in detail so that I understood. He told me what he could do to fix my issue and explained what to expect. He also provided me an analysis of my current system. Kenji did not pressure me to choose any particular option or try to upsell me in any way but since my garage door opener had been giving me trouble for the last year, I opted to replace the entire unit and the old springs. He provided me a quote and told me he would have someone bring over the new unit and complete the installation the same day. True to his word Alfredo showed up and installed the unit a few hours later and did a great job. He was fast, efficient, and didn't leave a mess for me to clean up! Alfredo explained the new system to me and showed me how to use all the features and how to maintain the unit (I will probably forget, but at least I know who to call when I do!!). Then an hour later, Kenji called to thank me for the business, answer a couple questions, and asked that I call him if ever I had any questions. Bottom line: Kenji and Alfredo were awesome! The price was reasonable, the service was exceptional, and I plan on recommending them to my family and friends. Give Kenji a call and you will not be disappointed. about the 1star reviews, people who did the wrong thing usually talk out loud, but if you do it wrong, you have to admit it. Instead, you are trying to ruin the business of the person who spoke up honestly. I can tell how they're doing business. Look at the kenji's reviews. It's not easy for all of those reviews to get 5 stars. Kenji does his best in every case and always treats customers with all his heart. That's why he wanted to help the victim without getting any benefits. It is cruel to cheat an old people who lives alone. If people who try to help them are victimized like this, the world will become a more difficult place to live in. And if Yelp is the right company, it's right to remove reviews that are trying to ruin reviews for that reason. read more

Based on my limited description of the issue, Greg was able to provide me with a thorough quote - actually 3 separate quotes for all the potential issues that might be causing my malfunction. Greg gave me a 2 hour time frame for the appointment and texted me early and showed up right on time at the beginning of the window - very prompt! He diagnosed and fixed my issue so quickly and even made sure my opener was lubricated appropriately and running even better than before - above and beyond! He doesn't try and push a bunch of unnecessary services or equipment on you - he's a real straight shooter and it was so refreshing! He was a joy to chat to and work with. And his prices just can't be beat - very reasonable! It's so rare nowadays to come away feeling satisfied with value for price - I was so impressed. Greg did explain that Yelp doesn't always notify him of quote requests and that texting is best for the fastest reply - which it does specify on his website (see attached photo). This time, we reached out because of a grinding noise coming from near the motor. We reached out to Greg and another service we've used in the past. The other service told us we probably need a new motor because it's 18 years old and gave a couple quotes for replacement. Greg, on the other hand, scheduled time to take a look. He saw that the belt was wearing and said this could be the issue. He advised that the belt should have a lifetime warranty and to call Liftmaster to order new one. He provided me with the model number and even the phone number to call, explaining that garage door companies can no longer request the warranty for customers and we have to call in ourselves. Greg came out last Tuesday & said the belt would probably arrive on Friday. The call to Liftmaster was super easy and the belt arrived on Thursday! Greg said the plan would be to replace the belt. If that didn't work, we already discussed the Liftmaster model for replacement as we know the motor will need replacing soon. Greg said he'll bring the new motor just in case, and if the belt replacement doesn't fix the issue and we need to replace the whole motor, he won't charge us any extra labor. We scheduled Greg for today (Monday), and he installed the belt in no time! Fortunately, the replacement belt did the trick and the grinding noise was gone! This will buy us some time before needing to replace the motor. We couldn't be happier with Greg. First of all, he's a very nice & genuine guy. I'm sure he's busy but he still takes time to chat with you and answer all your questions -- he never seems in a hurry. Second, he's super knowledgeable and experienced. Lastly, he's always accommodating, prompt, and his prices are very reasonable. When we need any future garage-related services, there's no question that Greg is our guy!
