I made my reservation 8 months in advance and confirmed it 3 weeks in advance. On both occasions I made sure that the RV would be ready for me first thing in the morning. When we arrived he was expecting us, took a pair of keys and went out to get our RV, he then came back and said that it wasn't ready and would look to see if he had another, he didn't. He then told us that we had never asked for an early pickup and that the RV's aren't normally ready until 3PM. We were then told that it would be ready about 9AM so I explained that my car rental was due back at 9AM. He offered to pick us up at the rental place so we drove right over and dropped the car off. After dropping off the car we spent 45 minutes standing in the rain waiting for him, he didn't show. I called to see where he was and he then came right over and said that he hadn't planned to pick us up until the RV was ready and asked where he should take us, but he absolutely refused to take us back to his office so not knowing our way around we had to let him choose a place, he dropped us off downtown. In all we lost 4 hours that day and were made to feel like it was our fault and that we were asking for unusual service. We had many problems with the RV: We wanted to use our Ipod and brought a tape adapter, but it would not work with tapes The floors were very dirty The toilet seat had the top cover missing so we had to be careful that things did not drop into it while driving. Many of the interior lights were burned out The propane heater would not work; I called and left a message, but received no return call. It was the thermostat so I eventually got it working without his help. When I saw that the propane heater didn't work I tried the heater in the air conditioner, it didn't work either The hose for adding water to the RV leaked badly, I had to stop and buy new gaskets for it The TV was a small model that we found on a shelf, it was not HDTV and had no cables to connect it to the antenna or to connect the RV to the cable system at campgrounds. I bought one, but being non-HD the TV couldn't find any stations to watch. Many items had been repaired and there were screws sticking out in many places, it was in shabby condition The mattress was new and comfortable, but it was much too large for the frame and hung off in all directions, it was so large that it was impossible to actually walk into the bedroom Many of the window blinds would not work properly and were missing the rod to adjust them. When we tried to use the shower the bedroom floor flooded so we had to use the facilities in the campgrounds The bathroom vent was missing its top so it could not be closed, because of this it got very cold in there. There was a ladder on the back which was in pieces and missing many screws, it shook badly and was ready to fall off There was a working microwave, but no real oven There was no privacy curtain so people could always see into the living area through the front window; we had to hang sheets to have any privacy The RV ran very well, there were no problems with the engine, transmission, brakes, etc. read more

As a response to the comment made by Pete of B&B RV: Had we been made aware that our reservation was canceled due to an accident with the RV (as Pete claims we were), we would have had plenty of time to find another vendor, thus avoiding this entire situation. The money charged to our credit card was never reimbursed and we are now taking action through American Express to reclaim the loss. Additionally, I spoke with Pete the DAY BEFORE we were to pick up the RV and he not only confirmed our reservation, but told me he had made special arrangements for us to pick it up early. Finally, Pete's claim that Mr. Duffy had secured another RV and that it was unacceptable to us is completely untrue. After being threatened by Mr. Duffy and ordered off the premises (or else he would call the police) my husband and brother-in-law left, and we were never made aware that there was another RV available to us. When planning something as important as a once-in-a-lifetime family vacation, please use a more reputable company. I'd hate to have this happen to someone else. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE! . We paid them $2,331 for an RV rental. When arrived they refused to provide us an RV in the size we ordered. then they sent us to rent somewhere else promising the'll refund us the money we paid and when we asked to get our money back they refused!! now we have to sue them. There are 19 complaints in the Better Business Bureau against them for similar fraud. read more

While being cheaper than the competition this is a prime example of "you get what you pay for". When first picking up our motor home we were told that the sewage tank was empty and the fresh water tank was full, and given specific instructions to return it the same way. We barely made it down the block and noticed a foul odor. We loaded up our belongings anxious to set out on our week long adventure and the odor was still there, growing worse by the minute. We were forced to pull into a gas station and check the tanks. Lo and behold, the sewage tank was full to the brim with the previous renter's waste. You can imagine our frustration trying to get out of town, stay on schedule and now we have to spend the first part of our trip emptying out a stranger's waste. It's bad enough when it's your own or your family's but it is disgusting and extremely frustrating to say the least having to empty waste belonging to someone else. To top it off, the fresh water was empty. Go figure. We also noticed that the kitchen table (which also converts into a bed) was very unstable and shaky. We tried to adjust the stand that is supposed to support the weight of the table and whatever food/drink it holds and it started to buckle just from the weight of the table alone. Upon inspection of the underside of the table, we found that new holes had been drilled and re-drilled at least 5 times already. The holes for this most recent quick-fix job were almost completely stripped and barely holding up. Good thing we noticed before we sat down to a meal and had all of our food land in our laps! Also good thing we had a drill, and some tools to fix it ourselves. Again more time off of our trip just trying to make this motor home livable for the next seven days. If we didn't have to get out of town and get on the road, and if we had the option to turn it in then and there, we surely would have but, we were trying to be optimistic and just get going on the road. All throughout our once-in-a-lifetime trip through Alaska, we had bits and pieces of the motor home falling apart- from bottoms of drawers falling out dumping utensils all over the floor and curtain rods falling down and room dividers barely hanging on for dear life. These are just a few examples and all of them showed signs of half-ass repair from being previously broken. At one point, the generator stopped working and when we called B&B we were directed to a mechanic in the area we were camping in that told us he was "not a generator guy but he would come look at it anyway". What help could this be? Well he made it out and told us (exact words) "Yep, your generator's busted". He could not fix the problem and we were without electrical power for the last three days of our trip. On our last leg of our trip, there was a funny sound coming from the transmission. When we checked the fluid level we found it to be bone dry. For good measure we checked the coolant and oil, the coolant was dry as well, at least the oil looked good. We topped off the fluids, and headed back to Anchorage, crossing our fingers we would just make it back to town to drop off this God-forsaken junk of a motor home. Upon returning the motor home we informed them of our many troubles and were greeted with a sarcastic smirk and a reply of "*@!# happens". We were offered no apologies, no discounts, no refunds, and no sympathy was given at the end. At least within our group we were competent enough to "make it work" with our tools, and some knowledge of mechanical things, but if you really want a vacation and not a MacGyver challenge to make a motor home livable, you should choose another RV company in town. B&B needs to be a zero, not one star. June 5th, 2011 checked out RV from B&B. They did not have any check out form/procedures to check-off. Had they, we probably would not have experienced all our/their problems. Bob stated to call him 24/7 for any problems. June 5th, 50 miles north of B&B, we found out we did NOT have any hot water. June 6th, 24 hours later Bob (the guy who checks the RVs in & out) tells us that to check the valve under seat. Guess what, it had not been turned back on from winterization. June 6th at 2pm, had blow-out on inner-rear tire. We found out their 24/7 roadside assistance was all talk! We had to limp at 20mph for 130 miles up to Healy, AK. After 5pm all calls goes straight to Bob's voice mail. He does NOT return any voice messages after 5pm, but did call once the next morning at 8 am without leaving a message or concern. June 7th we found a tire-changer to replace the spare, since Bob was of NO help..!!!. June 11th we returned the RV as we received it along with the blow-out. I asked Bob to sign a statement the RV unit was returned satisfactory. He did and said our $1000 deposit would be returned on the credit card within a few days. June 28th deposit was not been credited back on card. Call the owner, Pete. He hangs up on me right after I said my name. Called Bob; he said "if credit card company calls him, he will tell them to go to hell...!!!" Bob said, "I need to leave Pete a voice message" So I left Pete a voice message to return my call... Your right, B & B RV Rental has yet to return my call. When I call them it either goes to voice mail or they hang up! June 28th: Master Card is now disputing with B&B about the $1000 deposit and charges. Takes these reviews to heart....DO NOT RENT A RV from B&B RV Rental unless you want PROBLEMS...!!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We booked 2 Rv's 7 months in advance for a family vacation. We just received a one sentence letter canceling our reservation a week before our trip. We cannot find another RV and now have to cancel our flights. They will not answer the phone and did not even call us to tell us our RV's were canceled. We cannot get a hold of the company. Horrible service and trip ruined. Please be careful with this company...they make deals look appealing, but it is fraudulent!!! read more

I scheduled 6 months in advance with these folks, and I just found out today, via email that they don't have a vehicle available. They have stated that they are giving me a refund, but I have not seen that either. I would not book through these folks. This is not an operation you should look to for your RV needs. I truly can't believe that this RV company is still in business. Rent at your own risk. They canceled my reservation a month before my 2 week vacation. Luckily I was able to find another RV rental in such short time. To top things off, I had to hound them for my refund. Once I got the check back I found out it was a bad check!! I had to file dispute with credit card company to get my money back. We rented from Clippership RV's, they are good honest people with good equipment. read more

My daughter and I rented from here. I set everything up online and with a phone call. Everything was handled in a very professional and friendly manner. The day before I was to pick up the RV the owner called to let me know there was a slight mechanical problem with my RV. They went out of their way to make it right for me! I have been the owner of a small service business for 20 years and in my opinion, the way Pete and his son Cole treated me IS the way to do it! They picked us up and dropped us off from the airport -- ni problems. My wife and I and another couple went here for our 30th anniversary. I rented a 30' RV from B&B by prepaying in February. When I arrived, we received the RV as promised. It was not as good of condition as stated in the contract, but it was acceptable. Bob bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. After leaving Anchorage, we headed to Fairbanks. We had a flat on one of the inner tandem wheels. We had that tire and the other tandem replaced with B&B consent so that the new one would not carry all of the weight, with the promise of reimbursement. While replacing the tires, American Tire noticed there was no brake material left. This was a violation of the so called "Safety Inspection" promised in the contract. I called B&B RV and was instructed to take the RV to Gabe's Garage in Fairbanks. After Gabe's looked at it, they suggested that we not drive it very far. We used the vehicle to pick up a rental car at the airport. (Approximately 3 miles). The RV was in repair for 2 days which were lost for vacation time. When I arrived back, Pete was not around, Bob said that Pete was the owner and he would make it right. After getting back to Michigan, I attempted to call Pete at least a dozen times leaving messages each time. He never returned a call. I sent an email to him and he replied that I damaged his brakes so he would not only not pay for the two days I lost, he wouldn't pay for the tires I bought at $340.00. So much for the trip of a lifetime!!!!!!! Don't be fooled by the pictures of their units, we had #3006. read more

If you don't care about your living conditions, then this is the RV rental for you. The entire unit was filthy, the seats were all torn and there was urine caked up on the bathroom floor! I spent 3 hours trying to clean everything before I would put anything in the cupboards. It was a 2004 with almost 100,000 miles on it. I called it the rolling TURD! The only positive thing I can say is that it ran. The microwave was missing the rotisserie plate. They advertise that they don't charge for incidentals like other rentals do and that's because there are NO incidentals. OH AND IT"S ALASKA so don't you think they should have blackout shaeds? I had to buy black contact paper to cover the windows. The cabinet above our heads in the bedroom leaked when it rained and got my clothes wet. The toaster could only be plugged in in the bathroom because the cord was too short. The passenger side mirror shook the whole time and was damaged so you could barely see out of it. If I ever rent an RV again, I will get in writing the year, cleanliness and condition requirement. Is it asking too much to expect them to clean it. read more

I rented a 26 foot motor home from them in January 2009 for a July 2009 vacation. Everything seemed ok, the owner told me that he offered "slightly" used motor homes at a discount rental price compared to the larger rental companies. I questioned several times that the RV's are clean, in good condition, and not older than 2-3 years old. The owner Jim confirmed this with me several times. We showed up at Anchorage Airport ~ 8pm after 10 hours in a plane from Louisiana. We were picked up along with two other families renting from B&B. All seemed fine till we pulled in the lot (basically a small dirt lot on the side of the highway with a small trailer as the office. there parked 4 old looking dirty motor homes. It got worse from here. Jim proceeded to tell me that the RV I was to rent had the brakes go out the week before and it was not available so he could only offer us a RV that was 14 years old. Upset I looked at the one he offered. It was FILTHY, damaged interior, the dashboard radio was ripped out, and it smelled. I told him it was unacceptable and he tossed the yellow pages in my had and told me to take it or leave it and find someone else. Unfortunately at now 9pm on a Saturday night everyone was closed. My two sons who were with me were getting upset so I agreed to take it at a $200 discount as I would have to clean it myself just to make do. We drove off the lot, went to the grocery store and spent the next two hours disinfecting, cleaning, and covering the upholstry with sheets we had to purchase, along with new sleeping bags as the ones provided looked like they were gragged out of a garbage pail. Throughout the week, the generator worked ~ 25% of the time. luckily we were at a site with hook ups most of the time. Of more concern was the very bad steering vibration above 40 MPH which rattled everything including my sons and I. Upon return the next saturday, we arrived to find other unhappy families at their office trailer who were also scammed. Bottom line this guy should be placed in jail for scamming tourists. I would actually like to see more justice than that for these creeps. If they are still in business, STAY AWAY. Go to ABC RV or Cruise America. We saw many of their units on the highway and they looked very nice. read more

We made reservations and paid for a motorhome a year ago in Sept. 2012 and later received an email from B&B that the motorhome had been totaled in an accident. They informed us that we would have a full refund forthcoming. As of August 2013, we still have not received our refund. I've tried to call these people numerous times and they will not return my calls or answer the phone. I believe they recognize the number. I've called using my daughters phone which is a different area code and they answered. B&B told me on 2-3 different occasions that it was taken care of and the last time I called, they told me to call my credit card company and they would not dispute the charge. I still have not received my refund. when I called another RV place in Anchorage to rent ANOTHER RV, they told me that they had been told by other customers that they had received the same message. I do not, under any circumstances recommend this RV outfit to anyone. Do not give them a dime of your money because you'll never see it again. read more
