Both garage opener units died on the same day right before New Year. I called on a Sunday evening and they answered the phone and at 9am that Monday, Rich was at my door. He was friendly, knowledgeable and by Tuesday we had the openers we need. His communication was great! Responsive at a great price. Looks like another great review for B&C garage doors. Our spring on our garage door broke. After searching on-line I found great reviews for B&C garage doors. The cost to replace the two springs was $400. I contacted Door Doctor in Pleasanton and was quoted a price of $425. Precision Garage Doors of the East Bay quoted me $575.70 plus tax, plus a $34 travel fee to our home in San Ramon. I called B&C at 11:19 am and they scheduled the repair for after lunch. The service provider was prompt and completed the repair in less than an hour. Highly recommended. read more

This is the second time I've need garage door service and I can not say enough good things about Chris!!! We have an older home (and older garage door)...the first time our coil broke. Chris came out that day and replaced them. He was very friendly and knew exactly what was going on. Today was no different. Our cable came off and he noticed it was fraying. I recently had an issue with my garage door opener. Called B & C Garage Door. They were very responsive immediately answering the phone and were able to be at my house to fix the outside key pad on the same day that I called. In addition, they took care of other issues that I hadn't even noticed (a broken roller and squeaky brackets)! However, the initial fix didn't resolve the issue so they came back today and replaced the key (without charging for an additional service call)!!! read more

Once again, B&C exceeded our expectations. Our garage door separated from the railing, rendering it inoperable. We left a voice mail on B&C's office line and, within minutes, Garrett called us back. We explained the problem and he promised to take a look at it within the hour. Not only did he arrive promptly but, assuredly and with little fanfare, he diagnosed the problem and quoted a price to replace the spring. Unlike too many "professionals", Garrett did not have to order the part, come back in a week, blah blah blah. Rather, within two hours of our initial phone call the job was done, payment was made, a warranty was put in place, and he went off leaving us satisfied and happy. One less contractor nightmare...for which we are grateful and loyal.. This is the third service B&C has performed for us and there's no reason to think it will be the last. My home warranty does not cover broken torsion springs, but I still called the garage door company associated with my home warranty for their pricing. They informed me they would repair 4 springs for $900, 2 springs for $500, or single spring for $350. So, I decided to call around to check. What I learned is that the pricing varies - but the "well-known" names that might advertise on TV tend to be generally high, not unlike the company associated with my home warranty company, and they " really encourage" you to replace all springs. Reading other yelp reviews for those companies, it was clear some of them seemed to practice bait-and-switch, and might work on commission, and hence, the pressure to maximize sales. I emailed B&C and got estimates after I sent in photos. Their prices seemed reasonable and reviews good, so I went ahead to schedule. Their charges were labor for $175 (about 1 hour) and $75 per spring - and they did NOT push me to buy multiple springs (although they did say it was not a bad idea after I asked, saying it was really up to me), and mentioned they were salaried. Moreover, Chris, who did the work, was a fountain of knowledge about garage doors and answered questions patiently and in an understandable manner. After replacement of the springs, he inspected the whole door and mechanism, including the motor/chain, and lubed the moving parts. I highly recommend them for their professionalism and quality of work. read more

Another great experience with B&C Garage Door. They have been my go-to for many years. Called this morning regarding grinding sound and door not closing properly. Chris told me over the phone what he thought the issue was and arranged to come out to repair it first thing the next morning. I see why this is a 5 star company! My neighbor previously used this company & referred me to them when one of the cables on our garage door began to fray. I called & left a message Monday morning & received a call from Eric shortly thereafter. He was polite & asked what the issue was. He said he could send someone out later the same day, which is almost unheard of these days. Unfortunately, I wasn't available that afternoon, so we set up the appt. for the next day between 10-12. The least professional company I've ever interacted with. Came out to repair our garage door and the repair man was exceptionally sensitive. She told him that the garage door was broken and you could simply lift it up by hand, which apparently was too difficult to handle. Got a call that we would need someone else because she was rude to the repair person. Without being given any specific examples I was denied service by this company. Having your garage door spring snap late on Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend is not ideal . . . some places had closed early for the holiday. Some don't work on Saturdays or the weekend without exorbitant after-hour rates. "Can you wait until Tuesday?" I had no idea that opening a garage door with a broken spring is pretty much impossible. I called B&C (the Walnut Creek number from the website 925-935-3468) and was told he could come Saturday morning and quoted a very reasonable charge for the spring replacement. The guy who came out (sorry, can't remember his name) was very efficient and gave some good tips on regular maintenance. I also had him replace the original rollers (~22 years old) with new nylon ones which made a significant improvement on noise when the door opens and closes. Highly recommend these guys. read more

Seriously would give 10 stars if I could! I have had service done with this company several times over the past 10 years and they have consistently been great to work with. Unfortunately yesterday they were closed as it was the weekend. I had to call another provider and learned a valuable lesson in the process. Apparently the company I called in a pinch are one these pop up garage repair "companies" that have all 5 star reviews that lead you to believe they are legit. The other company came out, quoted 2 times the fair market repair but gave a "discount" in exchange for giving a 5 star Yelp review! They ended up damaging my door and not even fixing what was wrong in the first place. After the botched "repair" job I called Garrett the next day in desperation who came out the within an hour and had our door working as good as new all at a very fair price. if you are looking for experienced, quality and honest technicians make B&C your garage door "go-to". read more

Outstanding! It's no wonder these guys have so many positive reviews. We called at 8 AM and they had a tech (Chris) out to the house by 10 AM. The gentleman who I spoke to over the phone listened carefully to my problem and gave me a quote of $95, which is just for a service call. He assured me that it was a common issue. Our garage door rail shifted slightly because the ground moved. It caused a bolt to pop out and one of the brackets holding the rail to the wall was out of alignment. It's not a good idea to leave it like this, since it could stress other parts in the system. Chris was extremely professional. He diagnosed and fixed the problem in about 30 minutes, which involved sawing off the bottom of the rail to get it to line up properly. Then he put in new bolts. DH monitored the whole process and said that Chris was "very efficient". This company also offers a 30 day warranty on labor. The price was paid (by check) was exactly as quoted. I think it was very reasonable, given they had all the right equipment and got it fixed fast. Highly recommended! read more

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I called B&C early today because of the disaster I called my garage door. We had Costco install it 14 years back, and we have had issues with it on and off. My husband was able to fix what he could and it held out - until today. My husband had to rush off to work, so I manually closed the door. As I closed it, the bracket connecting the garage door to the motor almost entirely ripped off the door. (GASP!) I was in a panic, and obviously I don't want to get a new garage door since it still is a relatively young door! Chris came out, took one look, and knew it was a Costco product/install. He explained the door should have been reinforced with another piece so it won't rip out the way it did. He checked the motor and adjusted the force censor. He tightened screws along the way. He fixed the bracket. Checked the springs. All while explaining things (and me taking notes to email off to my husband). I called them at 7:45am, he was out here at about 9:15am and done in less than an hour. He charged me a very good price and I am so happy with the honest work he did.
