The service itself was good, and they responded quickly to an emergency, which I appreciated. What I didn't appreciate was the constant pressure to upsell additional services and upgrades that my garage door didn't need. The main reason for my rating, however, is what happened afterward. Almost immediately after the visit, I started receiving daily calls from various home service companies claiming they were "in my area" and offering free estimates. The timing strongly suggests that my personal information--including my name, phone number, and address--was shared with a third-party marketing or lead-generation database. When I paid, I was asked to enter my contact information on their phone. I specifically asked whether my information would be used for marketing or result in spam, and I was told it was only needed to send me the receipt. That was clearly not what happened. I contacted the company twice to ask about this, but they never responded. Their lack of response only reinforced my concerns about how my personal information was handled. Overall great experience. These guys are very responsive, the team works well together and communicates clearly about what they are doing and why. Their prices are competitive. They installed quality equipment and the installation itself was first rate. The framing and bracketing of the new garage door was much more sturdy than the previous job. They installed a more powerful opener and bigger springs to accommodate for the wooden door. Small steps like greasing the wooden track were all great. There were a couple minor topics that I communicated directly to the team that did not impact the overall work. I did have to call Chamberlain support to get the camera to work after the team. It needed some kind of remote reboot, but was a tech not an installation or set up issue. They could offer a handout to address potential issues (like age of the vehicle and compatibility with the new tech standards for digital security that is in the new openers...not their issue, but more of a next steps for owners. Had a great experience with Valiant Garage Door. Valentino was the main tech I worked with and he was awesome from start to finish. He helped replace old tracks and wheels, installed a new quiet side-lift system, and even did some framing work to fix wood around the door that had basically disintegrated over time. Not something I expected a garage door guy to handle, but he knew exactly what to do and took care of it. Pricing was fair and felt like good value for the work. He was super responsive and easy to communicate with over text, showed up on time, and didn't rush anything. After the install we had a couple error messages pop up, and he came back quickly to get everything dialed in. He also took care of a keypad issue when the old one started acting up. Overall, Valentino is friendly, professional, and very easy to work with. Reasonable, reliable, and clearly takes pride in doing things right. Would definitely call Valiant again. The previous installer + damage my garage door sustained made for a "normal" install difficult. After estimate and me instantly agreeing to the job (price was THAT good); he explained to me that he'll be back in TWO DAYS to do the job that would take him HALF a day. Two days later. Valentino showed up earlier than expected, had everything laid out and got to work. His methods of finding studs to bolt to were noninvasive (he didn't drill or use a stud finder) and was on the money all the time. Few hours later tracks were up, door install was starting. One of the torsion springs broke in Saturday evening and we can't open the garage door to pull out the car. Did a quick search on Yelp and requested a few quotes. Valiant responded within minutes and the communication with Valentino was quick and easy. Valentino provided an honest/reasonable quote after I attached a picture of the garage door with broken spring, and his quote was significantly lower than the 3 quotes which I received from the other local providers. Apparently, the other 3 providers were playing price gouging game. The next morning, Valentino and his crew member arrived at 9am and got the garage back to work in 30 minutes. I don't like leaving negative reviews. My wife and I both know that everyone has bad days, but what happened to us in this instance was not a "bad day" situation. This was an instance of someone leaving us completely out to dry. I found this business on Yelp and used the reviews to decide who to call, so just as people should know the good, they should also know the not-so-good. We recently had a garage door that got stuck in the open position and needed someone to get it closed. It's a large glass garage door and it's on a finished building that is insulated, drywalled, air conditioned and has furniture inside so we really needed to get it closed up. We also had a replacement door incoming that we would need installed the following week. That same day, a Wednesday, I reached out to Valiant and spoke to Valentino. He seemed like a nice guy and from our conversation, knowledgable. He said he was out of town and couldn't come out right away, but would try and come out on Friday, or at latest, Saturday ("early Saturday", he said) and would be able to install the new door the following week. I really didn't want to wait that long, but again, he seemed to know what he was doing so I figured we'd wait for him. I spoke and texted back and forth with him a few times after that first conversation and he answered/replied every time. At one point he told me he had a concert he was attending that Friday and that's why he might not have enough time before needing to drive to that. I told him I understood, no problem. Friday at 1:03 PM he texted and confirmed (as we both expected) that he wouldn't make it out that afternoon, writing "Sorry I don't think I can make it happen today". I replied, "No problem. Tomorrow morning works". I followed that with a text asking if he could give me an idea as to what time he'd be by the following day, Saturday (remember he said "early Saturday").....No reply. Saturday at 9:40 AM, still no word or reply from the previous night's text so I texted to ask if we were still on......No reply. Later that night I texted to ask if I should assume he just wasn't coming.......No reply. So at this point this same person that was very responsive has now disappeared. I've also by then spent 4 days with this building completely exposed to the elements. That's also 4 days that I didn't look elsewhere because he said he was coming. That Saturday came and went so on Sunday around 3 o'clock I figured I'd just pick up the phone and call. I thought maybe something happened and, against my better judgement, figured I should give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I called and the call lasted all of 16 seconds (I just checked). He answered and I said something the the effect of "Hey Valentino......What happened? I thought you were coming out yesterday?". And that was it. He hung up on me. No explanation, no apology for leaving us hanging, nothing. He just hung up and didn't bother calling back. I want to also say that never once was I rude or anything other than polite. If he couldn't make it or didn't want the job, he could have told us days before during any of the times we spoke or texted. Instead he completely shafted us and left us scrambling to find someone else to come out, which of course, now being Sunday, was going to be hard to do. read more
