I am actually reviewing the B & G Bagels in Waldwick, NJ, which I believe is the sister store to the Ramsey, NJ location. Both are decent and clean locations. Well-stocked and offering a large variety of bagels, sandwiches, beverages and snacks for breakfast and lunch. I believe they have been around for over 10 years. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and an everything egg bagel with Taylor ham, egg and cheese. Liked the plain bagel and the shmear. Good snap to the bite and chewy texture and the flavor was pleasant. The everything egg bagel had a smokey, almost burnt taste and the texture was too soft, no crunch to the bite. Service was quick and friendly. Everyone seemed to know everybody. I like that. Make you feel at home. Just wish the bagels were better overall. read more

I've given this spot a few tries but it's the same outcome every time. The bagels taste like they were left out on the counter for a few days then heated up. They're extremely tough to chew. The consistency should have the nice golden brown crust with a doughy inside. Instead the bagel I was given was just tough. Another time I got a bagel from here with Taylor ham, bacon and egg and was charged nearly $9.... which is absolutely absurd for a bagel sandwich. I'm still on the hunt for good bagels in Ramsey, so far the few places I've been to haven't lived up to the bagel expectations one would expect as a NJ native. Bagel sandwich wasn't bad but I've given them a try again couple times recently and all their bagels are insanely dry, some even taste like cardboard. Called ahead to order two bagels, one gluten free with SEC and the other a regular bagel with TEC. Went in, and they charged 18 dollars for these two bagels, which I was completely astonished that they charged that for two bagels. When I got back, my 9 dollar bagel wasn't even cut and tasted like cardboard. Had to douse it in ketchup for it to even be edible. Do not recommend. I tend to go for the plain with olive and they don't over cc the thing. The bagels are always fresh and their baked goods look quality. I stopped by often for their flavored coffee. My father, brother and I just ordered two breakfast sandwiches, a drink, and a pastry. We were accidentally double charged by the two women working behind the counter. I tried to sort it out with them but they were rude and unable to articulate what items I had actually paid for. The one woman became angry, and blamed me for ordering food from two different employees. I ended up paying 20.78 for a Gatorade, two bobos, and a Danish. I would welcome B&G reaching out to fix my bill and to coach the two employees working the morning of 2/7 how to take and fulfil orders accurately. I was craving a good turkey sandwich, and this place is conveniently located close to where I live. Yelp told me they close at 3pm, so it was 1:45 and I walked in aiming my sights to their large menu of sandwich options. My mouth watered at the different choices to satisfy my turkey craving, and I asked the nice gentleman for an iced coffee while I read each description carefully. My thoughts were quickly interrupted by another customer who was ordering a sandwich from a different employee. The blue sky turned grey when I heard the words "we are out of cold cuts." My heart sank. You always want what you can't have, and this only made me want my turkey sandwich that much more. I questioned the nice young man that was helping me and he looked at his co-worker almost just as puzzled as me. "Out of cold cuts" an hour and fifteen minutes before they were closing? As he handed me my melted iced coffee, I asked what was available, and he again had to turn to his co-worker for information. Salads and chicken. I ordered a chicken salad wrap, and asked for more ice in my (over flavored) coffee. The chicken salad was alright, but nothing was going to rectify the fact that I didn't get to have a turkey sandwich. Placed an order for delivery via the Yelp app. Stuck in a hotel today due to predicted snow, however when the order was placed, no snow on the ground. The estimated time for delivery was 55-65 minutes. I received an email confirmation and was prepared to wait. At 10:50, 40 minutes longer than expected, I contacted Yelp regarding the order and was originally told they could not find an order under my telephone number or email address. When I provided the order number, Yelp/Grubhub called the restaurant. The restaurant stated they would not be able to fill the order because they were too busy. I don't understand how this would be any different than someone who was in the store, especially with Grubhub picking it up and delivering. I had an unusual bagel craving during my morning commute, and decided to utilize Google Maps to find a bagel location en route. I located B&G bagels, and was left thoroughly unsatisfied with my experience. When I entered, the store was only occupied by a couple who had already ordered their food. I approached the counter and was passed by 4 to 5 members of the staff who simply looked at me and proceeded with their business. There was no indication that I would have my order taken, nor did anyone inquire. I was finally approached by a member of the staff, and submitted my order. I was hoping that, at the very least, the quality of the food would make up for the substandard service. I was wrong. The bagel, eggs, and cheese that comprised my sandwich were borderline tasteless. I'm giving two stars which seems generous. There are two reasons why I am not going with one star: it was really cheap for the area and the bagel was okay (a little stale and dry, but definitely the highlight of the meal). I ordered a few things for my girlfriend and I to try. I am shocked at the positive reviews of this place and I seriously question their validity. The quality of the food was poor. The eggs were way over cooked. The home fries were mushy, dry, over-salted and had a strange flavor. The "croissant" was extremely stale. The coffee was watery. When I asked for one sugar I got such a heaping teaspoon I had to send it back without the guy having even stirred the coffee. Language was a barrier to ordering and I had to correct the order several times, but the guy taking my order just did not want to write it down. Maybe he had a bad hand-cramp. read more
