Local spot so it's convenient when I'm shopping in Interstate. The last few times, the quality has been awful and the prices have increased drastically. Chicken cutlet was like rubber, ham was sliced so thick for a sandwich it was disgusting, soup was lukewarm. Desserts are also the same. Apple turnover was not fresh. Around since 1978, this deli seems to do well, offering the usual Italian desserts, sandwiches and heroes, burgers and other deli items as well as breakfast sandwiches, snacks, pasta. We liked both the eggplant and chicken parm on rolls but small portions for the price. There's a good amount of seating for a deli. read more

Classic Italian deli - the store was bigger than I was expecting. We ordered a couple of heros ahead of time and I also ended up browsing the shop and buying 2 kinds of stuffed ravioli and homemade cavatelli in the freezer section. They also have a lot of choices for hot food, imported dry pasta and desserts. The sandwiches were very good - we had the American with American cheese and the Roma with added prosciutto di Parma. I have never personally purchased anything from their bakery, but always see it busy with people buying. Lolitos is in a shopping center and I had higher hopes than what I experienced. Its an italian style market with both hot food and desserts. They had all the italian heavy hitter desserts too however the desserts tasted average. The brownie was all frosting. The cannoli was probably the best thing I had there but it was just ok. Nothing popped with flavor or was memorable. Tasted like grocery store desserts. The hot food looked better but I didn't try it. Maybe next time. read more

Lotito's Deli & Bakery is just off Rt 17 in the Interstate Shopping Center. As you walk up you can see their bakery and what they are creating from the window. Once you enter you truly have a full bakery and deli. There are two counters to place your orders at, there were lots of beautifully pre-made cakes, cookies, and pastry. When you walk to the back of the store you see lots of pre-made food options as well. I can understand the appeal of many because you can stop there once you get off 17 on your way home after work to pick up dinner. The staff was friendly and even went to the back to check if they had any fresh mozzarella since they were out upfront. The gentleman also helped me with my St. Joseph pastry asking which kind would I like "cannoli or chantilly" Both of course. Before I start my review please understand that this is all my opinion and I try to be honest as possible. I also will give my thought on why I think something did not work. Now on to the review. I will start with the mozzarella. It was very dense and upon cutting was breaking apart but not in the OMG this is so delicate and moist way. I tried a piece and there was no hint of any salt but also no taste at all. To be fair I then added salt and let it sit for another half hour to try it again, it helped slightly but not enough. If you go just get the mozzarella on a sandwich. They most likely make it early in the morning for the day and it sits in non-saltled water. I did show up at 4pm and they close at 6pm. The St Joe's pastry was nicely decorated and priced very fairly at $3.00. The first one I tried was the Cannoli cream stuffed zeppole. The zeppole was fresh and reminded me of a Dunkin Donut French Crueller which was fine but the cannoli cream had a taste of mayo, not ricotta. Did I say mayo? I tasted it 3 more times and then a bite with the zeppole. Yes, it was a mayo taste. I can't explain the Cannoli unless something else is added to the ricotta when they make it. The Chantilly had the same Zeppole and the cream was nice, it wasn't overly sweet. If you go stick to Chantilly. I'm interested in some of their other products and will try a sandwich next time I'm up there. read more

I came here for the first time a week ago and it wasn't bad. First as I walked in the line was extremely long. I can only assume if the line was that long it must be good. As I stood on line and was reading the menu and looking at the cold salads and pastas, nothing looked appealing at all. I decided to play it safe and ordered a grilled cheese and tomato. They forgot to add the tomato which was a little annoying. The grilled cheese it self was pretty good but overpriced. $7 dollars for a grilled cheese is crazy considering you can walk across the street and go to shop rite and get bread and cheese for $7 and have grilled cheese all week. Its okay If you play it safe you wont be disappointed but not sure if I would visit again due to so many excellent delis in the are. I can say the employees were very friendly. read more

A few friends and I went for a leisurely like around Ramapo Lake and then wanted to end the day with some solid Jersey subs. We drove all the way to Lotito's and thankfully Yelp steered us in the right direction! I really enjoyed my gigantic honey ham & honey turkey on a hero with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, oregano! There's no other way to eat a sub. They stuff it with tons of layers of meat and cheese. Their dessert display is incredible and right now since it's it's Christmas time, everything was so colorful. I had trouble deciding which cookie to get, but lands on the yellow cookie with a huge layer of chocolate over it. I don't know what that is, but it was deeelish.
