Their bagels are large, with a thin outer shell that toasts nicely, and fluffy moist inside. You can tell they're good just by looking at them. I've had them a couple of times now, and the quality is consistent. To boot, we were sleeping over a friend's place recently and brought a dozen bagels to have for breakfast the following day and everyone loved them, asking where they're from. Goldberg's is located right in downtown Glen Rock, an easy convenient walk for many residents. I always need to have some NJ bagels when I'm in town and Goldberg's does not disappoint. They have a good variety of bagel and spread options, as well as breakfast and lunch sandwiches and wraps. The place is popular and can get a bit hectic. There isn't much room to stand while waiting for your meal, and people are crammed in. They seemed to forget about our order as many people who ordered after us were served before us. When my husband followed up, the bag of prepared bagels was sitting back there ready to go...for who knows how long. Chaos aside, Goldberg's is worth the visit for a good deli meal. I don't like bagels. At least I haven't since I was a kid. I've eaten a few subpar bagels over the years. Usually because my wife likes bagels. But none of them lived up to my memories. It's hard to beat a memory. These bagels match my memories. Whatever everyone else is doing to ruin the good name of bagelkind, that nonsense doesn't fly here. The food here is undeniably good -- fresh bagels, quality ingredients, and overall a level above your average bagel shop. I've come here many times and really enjoy what they serve. That said, the service has been consistently frustrating. Orders are frequently wrong -- items missing, substitutions I didn't ask for, or simply receiving the wrong thing altogether. When you're paying premium prices (and it is expensive), you expect the basics to be handled -- especially order accuracy and attention to detail. I don't mind paying more for quality, but that has to include reliable service. I hope they tighten things up behind the counter because the food deserves a better overall experience. read more

I was so happy to see that their decaf coffee was a Colombian Roast. Well that's where the happiness ended. It may as well have been colored water. It was so weak, I could barely tell it was coffee. It was packaged well for delivery and was exactly what I ordered - kinda. As you can see in my photo, I got bamboozled. This sandwich was not worth the $12.99 I paid for it. The lettuce was not fresh, to the point of browning. The lack of layered lox slices was super disappointing. I'd stop in for a bagel again. There is nothing bad I can say about this Goldberg's location. Employees are always hustling, the bagels are consistently amazing, and you're never disappointed with the amount of ingredients in your breakfast sandwich or the amount of cream cheese smeared on your bagel. They take both cash and card, though the line might appear intimidating from afar, it moves quick and there is tons of street parking during both weekdays and weekends. I've been on a scallion cream cheese kick and have happily gotten my fix each Saturday at this location. Still believe these are the best bagels in Jersey, and that's a bold statement. read more

The bagels are consistantly good (my second favorite in town) The issue is similar to someone else noted,,, the music. This past Saturday (2/22/25) There was rap playing,, Not too loud but the lyrics... While waiting for my bagel i got to hear the F and N words a few times. REALLY not appropriate for a business. I used to come here a lot, the bagels themselves are delicious but unfortunately the past couple months the ppl working seem to have stopped taking pride in their work. Right in the center of Glen Rock this take out bagel shop has lots of variety. Bagels come out fresh from the oven constantly in a wide variety of flavors. They also have lots of cream cheese options including a very delicious vegan veggie. Special for Valentine's Day they have red heart-shaped bagels and also heart-shaped bakery items. They also make bagel sandwiches which look delicious but we did not try those. Buy a dozen bagels and received 14! You can't go wrong. read more

Door Dash is killing this business. Took me 25 minutes to get an egg sandwich as a walk-in. Have been coming to this place for 30+ years, grew up in town, but won't be coming back. They either need to limit Door Dash orders on Sundays or hire a second short order cook. First off, the bagels are very good. Fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the service has been horrible recently. I usually send my kids in to place the order while I walk my dog around the block. The last three visits my walks have been 20, 30 and 40 minutes, respectively. One employee in particular got the order completely wrong last week and this week failed to put their order in. This may be due, at least in part, to how disorganized they are. So this doesn't happen again, I would suggest they take names or issue numbers for every order and put them in as they are received. read more

If it wasn't for the price this place would be a five star. I understand that food items are getting increasingly more expensive but $9.50 for a bacon egg and cheese is ridiculous. Customer service by some of the employees is awful, everything we ordered today was wrong, didn't toast, forgot lettuce and tomato on sandwiches, skimped on the lox. Gave this place a third chance as they usually mess up our orders, but this will be the last time patronizing Goldberg's Famous Bagels of Glen Rock. Never have I been treated so rudely and sarcastically by an employee while putting forth effort to support small businesses. Went in to pick up my order and the young man put 4 Snapple's that I didn't order into my bag after another customer told him they belonged to his order. The young man proceeded to put the Snapple's in my bag and charged me for them. When he realized he had made a mistake he says to me, "You saw me put them in there and you didn't say anything to me?!" I took my order and walked away disgusted... Goldberg's of Park Ridge is fantastic. Competent consistent customer service and delicious food every time.
