B&Js sucked, no pun intended. Expected so much more, the waitress kinda blew it. She was friendly but got lippy when I asked for seconds!

I am often asked, "What is your favorite restaurant in (Wichita Falls)?"…read more I generally hesitate with the answer, as I ponder that question and answer. I usually answer with one or two I'm frequenting more often in the current time period. When it comes down to it, I can solidly say Deli Planet is in the permanent Top Three. This year, I have been dining with Deli Planet for 40 years. Now with that being said, Deli Planet is truly my number one. I have eaten with no other that long (in the Falls). First as 'Subs n Subs' then Deli Planet. The consistent thing has been Eric Rutledge. He's been serving me since my first visit in 1986. Bob did an awesome job with hiring this guy. All the employees over the years have been fantastic and have always treated me like family. Always greeted with hugs and smiles. The one big change in all the years that turned this place into a powerhouse business is when Eric married Becca and this true power couple became one. Legends in the local restaurant business! The food always top-notch and very consistent from visit to visit. The place is always clean. All the employees seem to really enjoy their working here, which translate to a great atmosphere. I really love dining here and reflect back fondly on all that have crossed my path while dining here. Especially when I think back to all those that this place gave me a permanent friend like Samantha Ellis Stanley. Of course the whole of the Rutledge family is included in that, as they have all worked here at one time or another. Love my Deli Planet!!

They called me back a few days later saying I was good to go and they had a back area set for me. I called again to confirm twice and no one answered again. I left another message and we showed up on the time and with good spirits. The waitress made sure she told us multiple times that they were very busy and short staffed while in a hurry. Every time new people came into the Restruant the waitress would say "have a seat, I'm busy and will get with you and get your drinks in a bit". We all got seated and looked at the menu and waiter to order. She seemed happy and excited to talk to a table of 10, giving them hugs, smiles and conversations. Whenever they would come back to our section the wait staff was snappy and agitated. When we ordered the waitress was in a rush and rude. She took our orders then walked away. Another slimmer waitress came back like a crazy person, saying our entire group needed to leave since someone called her wait staff a B world... this was a group of church going people. I think they wanted to make something up to get rid of our huge group since they were never kind. One of my ladies decided to head out, since the waitress accused her. The rest of the group was very reluctant to stay. We try to figure out where else we would go. At this point members of the group started to walk away because they were nervous that the weight staff would do something to our food. One of the ladies walked out, and I followed her to just check on her, because the situation was so unprofessional. She said she just could not stay in these type of circumstances and they went to a restaurant near this location. When I came back in from outside, the manager started yelling at me and somebody would be paying for the food of the lady who left. Even though she told the manager to cancel her order and said what she had. I informed her that I did not know what she ordered and I never ordered it in the first place. She started yelling getting loud and the entire restaurant to hear her say that the cook was cooking it and so it had to be paid for. As I walked to my group, I realized there was a table full of food on a pool table getting cold. I turned around and said how long will it be to my food is here and the waitress manager said that's your food right there. I said it would be great to actually have it while it's sitting out here getting cold with people walking past it when people are hungry inside this room. The bigger waitress came and started dropping food off, slammed it on tables being extremely rude. It was the worst service we have ever had in our lives and none of us will ever go back. The food was not hot and was not good either. I had a mushroom burger that had two mushrooms on it and everybody else who had specialty items did not have a good amount of extra sides. Have the group with Military and this business was extremely unprofessional. I ended up paying for the girls food who left And gave it away. The bathroom smell like pee we never got Refills and they charge us a 15% surcharge for a big group and never gave us receipts for any of the food that we ordered. I do not recommend this business nor do I recommend the staff.

Tucked away in a strip center across from Walmart, the Exterior is unremarkable…read more Ambiance is Sports bar divided between a dining room and a bar, providing a clear separation between the "family" and "adult" venues. This is common in some parts of Texas. Friendly service on both sides, but I chose to join the adults for a giant mug of beer to chase some whisky shots with warm chatty patrons. Food on the Tex-Mex platter was plenty and very satisfying.

8/1/25 Stopped here for dinner last night as we were passing through the area…read more From the outside this place looks like any other small diner in a strip mall setting. From the inside, still looks like any other small diner in a strip mall setting. The tables are either booths or wooden tables with wooden chairs. There are TVs lining the walls and some booth have TVs at them as well. Every one if tuned to sports. The ceilings are high and the vibe is sports bar meets middle of nowhere, local hangout. The place was very busy for 7:30 on a Friday night and the atmosphere is uber casual. Greeted by a seat yourself sign, we found a table in the front corner, by the window, and waited for our server. Within a few minutes we were waited on and given our drinks. First place in a long time that carries Coke products and offered diet Dr Pepper- good start. We order onion rings as an appetizer and I got the soft taco basket while hubby got the crunchy taco basket for dinner. We hopped up shortly after we ordered and moved to an empty table a few feet away because the AC in the area we were sitting was unbearable. Way too windy and way too cold. Found our new seat to be better from a warmth standpoint. Onion rings came out and while there were only 6 in the basket, they were huge and cooked to a nice golden color. Unfortunately, they were a little bland, but with some salt and ranch, not too bad. My soft tacos were delivered open face on a large plate. Interesting presentation for sure. There were 3 and each came with ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. I ordered sour cream on the side and am happy to say, they were delicious. I only ate 2 of the 3 so proportionally they were a very good offering. Hubby's order included 4 crunchy tacos, same fillings- except no tomatoes for him- and I took a small bite to taste the shell. No complaints from either of us. Our server was really sweet and other than a slight delay between getting our drinks and ordering dinner, service was fast and efficient. Dinner cost about $45 in total- with tip- so not too bad for a quick stop in a little town. Hope you enjoy

Bonus--the 2nd floor has a bar, so it's a whole experience getting up there. The food overall was really good with a few standouts. The deviled eggs were so good--definitely a must-order. My son loved his burger, and my meatloaf was solid comfort food. The mac and cheese was delicious and probably one of my favorites on the table. A few sides were a little hit or miss--the sweet potato casserole was good, the dill potato salad was just okay, and the okra was a bit over fried for my taste. Overall, it's a fun, unique spot with good food and a cool atmosphere. Worth checking out if you're in the area!

Last time our group came we realized that the menu prices didn't match the tickets that we received. Wayne gave only 1 of us a $5 coupon. We received our dollar back, so it was not a problem. Our group came back today, saw our favorite waiter Juan who already knows what drinks we like who needs a military discount and what we will order normally. When it was time to go, one of my lady said that her bill was wrong, because it didn't match the menu. I looked at it and realized we just had that issue last month which meant for a month people paying an extra dollar on their meals. Last time we came Wayne said he going to be fixed. So we had four bills that did not match the prices on the menu. I asked Juan to let the manager know since we had already done this dance the last time we got food here, but wasn't worried or agitated, because I was heading out to work. When the manager Wayne comes he hugs and greets one of my friends who he gave the coupon to last time. I was about to leave, but said that the menus don't match the prices again and we already talked about it last time. Even though Wayne has tons of attitude on a regular day, he said that I needed to be Kind like I was a kid!?!? I looked at him I said this is his kind with no loud voices, no frown. If somebody tells you that you need to be nicer to them when they made a mistake and didn't correct it the first time, while people are paying extra per ticket. He was hostile, but made it seem as if i disrespected him. I picked this place for lunch, now I am being mistreated by the manager for pointing out an error. Then he asked me my name, I was paying the bill and was over the altercation. He would not let up and kept telling me that he's having a busy day and how I need to Be KIND.... It wasn't a big deal to me, but he made it one being loud in the Restruant standing over me. I don't really speak to Wayne, because we don't joke the same I am here to eat and leave, but he is a bit extra. I was just telling some friends how I liked the vibe of the restaurant this weekend, I have given some good reviews. Wayne was beyond rude and unprofessional, we all agreed. It came out of no where, we thought he was joking at first as he does a lot, until he kept taking down to me. My group will no longer come here, since you never know how you will be treated. I come in order pay and leave there's not much conversation as I've written in a previous post. My crew and I agreed and informed Wayne after each of us felt he was avoiding the Brown skinned patrons, he would go around the restaurant speaking to everyone except our table multiple times. It has been better, with playful banter the last few months. The salad bar price is rising it started off at $10 w/a big and small plate, but is now $13, but you pay $14 on the receipt and they want to take your tiny plate away, unless you request it. I understand things cost more, so it's fine. Since it's close to where we work and most of us are trying to have healthy options, grabbing a salad for lunch makes good sense. The salad bar is usually clean and fresh. Like I said Juan has amazing customer service and is always super kind and nice to us no matter how busy or crazy it might be in the location. FYI, there is a store at the bottom that is extremely political and can make many people uncomfortable to walk through, if that is not your party. The way that I was treated today was overboard and unacceptable instead of squashing it the manager kept wanting to speak to me as if I was a child when I wasn't speaking to him at all! The only brown table in the room and he kept belittling me saying that I need to be Kind when I wasn't even talking to him and he doesn't know me at all. I have a friend that comes with me that literally yells and screams, but it seems as if he only has an issue with those he chooses to have an issue with. I have spent quite a bit of money in this restaurant, but I will no longer come again, but will miss Juan. It is unacceptable to be treated in this manner because a customer had to say more than one time that there's an error on the menu and you don't like to take accountability. A dollar isn't much, but they add up. Whatever the price is that you were telling people to pay that's how much the price should be. It may take a moment, but staff should adjust the price at the register to prevent confusion. I was told by 3 of my ladies on Saturday that during the nighttime they get a smaller plate than the daytime for the same price, which would be not worth $14, it if that's the case. I don't eat anything else on the menu, because I I have not found anything else appetizing and fulfilling for the price at this restaurant. I hope and pray no one else has to deal with anyone treating them the way that I was treated today, and will drive a little further to Jason's Deli for the best salad bar in town.
