So, I had another car problem that I wanted to write about. My car was making a loud squeaking noise which was originally thought to be the serpentine belt. So, my son and I changed it! Problem still present. Took it into B&K and they diagnosed it as the vacuum brake pump. Because of the cost of the repair (approximately $920 for parts and labor), the owner (Bun) recommended I get a second opinion at a European repair shop of my choice. As suggested, I went to another repair shop. At first glance/listen, they too thought it was the vacuum brake pump. The mechanic started fiddling around and was able to get the noise to stop intermittently. He realized there was a tiny hole in the hose leading out of the vacuum brake pump housing. While still fiddling, the hose broke and the noise became much louder and continuous. Without flinching, the mechanic cut off the broken piece of the hose and reconnected it to the vacuum brake pump housing...VIOLA!!! Noise gone; problem fixed!!! I then said, "THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! Sooooo, what do I owe you?" The gentleman said, "Free of charge! Just promise me if you have any future issues with your car, you give us a chance." We're $920 richer today than we were a few hours ago (in theory...lol). I'm grateful Bun had enough integrity to be humble enough to say, "I could be wrong." I'm grateful that Bun suggested that I get a second opinion. I'm grateful that Bun is more focused on customer service than making money. I cannot say enough about these guys. read more

Everyone knows how hard it is to find not only a good mechanic that knows their stuff, but also an honest one. I was going on a road trip and wanted both my cars checked out before I left, so my friend referred me to Bun. After checking out both cars, he gave me recommendations on what needed to be fixed and answered all my questions. I even asked if I needed an oil change or any type of tune-ups and he said no. He gave me a recommendation on what was absolutely needed and the things I can work on later. A few weeks later, the check engine light on the Jeep Commander went on and they checked it out for me. Bun and Mark are able to explain things to me, so I can make an educated decision and they're not that bad on pricing. Bun at P&K Auto was super friendly and professional and was able to find the parts I needed. Honestly these guys make me feel better about life. I first went here for a pre-purchase inspection on a vehicle. Bun gave me his honest opinion on the vehicle and showed me any tiny detail that was out of the ordinary (I can now date a tire thanks to him, yay.) We test drove it together and the car lived up to my expectations. My second visit involved my 2007 Scion tC that had well over 175K miles on it. I suspected that my trans was going. Unfortunately, they were not able to diagnose the issue and repair it without taking it to a specialty shop which is understandable. The issue wasn't deemed unsafe and honestly I had been living with it for some time. No biggie. They didn't charge me a dime for any diagnostic and spent a decent amount of time helping me with my car. We came to the conclusion that a trans drain and fill might help, $80 later and my car was barely making a rumble at the gear it hated. These guys are honest to the bone. Since I was there I had asked if they could check a squeaking noise and quote me to get it fixed . during the quote (which I found to be extremely fair) Bun told me that I wouldn't be in danger if I left it unfixed .
