Tom and his crew are our 'family mechanics.' They've been working on our cars for over 10 years. If there is any issue with our cars, this is where we go. They even have special discounts for my fam I only had them swap tires of my truck with snow tires. They took about 5 hours and did an excellent job balancing and installing the tires. There is no wobble or any other sound from the tires. Balancing wheels is an art and if you ever need wheels balanced, this is the place to be. Update: they swapped my exhaust with a cat-back. On November 29, 2025, I brought my vehicle to the Midas Auto Care Center located at 2151 N. Bloomingdale Road, Glendale Heights, Illinois. I have been a customer of this location for many years. I asked for the brakes to be checked and ultimately paid for the replacement of the front and rear disc brake pads, as well as front and rear caliper slide service. On August 3, 2026, I noticed an issue with the car's brakes. As I was not near the Midas location I had a different mechanic look at the brakes. The mechanic showed me the rear brake pads. These pads were worn down to literally nothing. With only 12,000 miles of use on the pads it was as if the pads were not replaced back in November of 2025. The front pads showed normal wear for 12,000 miles. I brought this matter to the manager (Tom Weber's) attention on August 5, 2026. I requested a refund for the original amount paid for the rear pads. Rather than addressing the substance of my concern, I was questioned about whether I had somehow switched the brake pads from another vehicle. I found this response inappropriate, particularly given that I had been a longstanding customer of the shop. The matter was brought to the owner's attention. I provided photos of the four rear brake pads which were questioned by the owner as being illegitimate. The owner did finally agree to refund the cost of the pads only, and not the cost of the caliper slide service. However, he followed up shortly thereafter with a text refusing the refund and stating that that I was scamming him. I want to be clear that I did not attempt to scam or mislead anyone. I raised a legitimate concern regarding a service for which I paid and which based on the condition of the vehicle when the rear pads were inspected in August appears to not have been performed. I am requesting that Midas review the original November 29, 2025 work order, the parts and labor charged, and the circumstances surrounding the rear brake pad replacement. Came in here over a month ago to get my tires changed due to one poping and not being able to change it. Midas was the closest place to where my car was. I took it and I got a good deal on the tires. I went to pick up my car later in the day. About an hour later after picking it up I noticed my rims were damaged. I went back two days later to tell them what happened. Manager that was there said blamed me and said I damaged my car and that it was curb rash. If you look at the picture that is not curb rash. 1. More of the outer rim would have been damaged if it was curb rash. 2. Curb rash also leaves the damaged area rough. It looks like they dropped a tool on the rim and were not careful. The manager kept blaming me that it was my fought and my driving. I know it wasn't me cause I would have heard a curb rash and im super careful with my rims. I also went straight home after picking up my car. The manager took a picture of my rim and said he will tell the owner and the other manager and i will hear back. I haven't heard back and I have called a couple times but the managers were not there. I didn't get a chance to stop in due me getting out of work late.Tires are good but they won't take care of your car. I would not recommend anybody to go unless you don't care if they damage your car. I regret ever going to them. Wish I took my car to another place now every time I see my car I see the damaged rim. read more

I posted my first review of this place three years ago and since then nothing has changed from my initial comments. The management here is still awesome! Super friendly, knowledgeable and honest. I've had tires replaced, muffler on wife car, alignments, a/c recharge, fluids (brake, coolant, differential) and countless oil changes. They remember their customers and ask how you're doing and they mean it! Most importantly, they treat my wife with respect! They are super cordial to her and make her feel just as important as they do to me when I bring my car in. My wife's car is a 2009 with 160,000 miles on it and I trust Tom and his team to keep it and my wife safe on the road! Having a mechanic you trust is a key component to a happy life. We have been taking our vehicles to a small, independently owned shop for years. But we needed something closer to home. I much prefer independent shops but based on the good reviews and close proximity, I thought I would give this place a try. After 4 trips here, I am incredibly satisfied. The owner and Dave, the guy who runs the counter, are honest, informative, friendly, and professional. I am so LIVID with this place! Carlos, the manager, if you are reading this do yourself a favor and stop because as soon as I get my car back from the other shop, I'm coming to your store to tell you exactly what I think about you and your piece of trash shop straight to your face. As a woman I'm very cautious about where I bring my car. I used to take my 2005 Scion xA to the Scion dealership where the car was originally purchased but found that I was lied to and these people were trying to scare me into hundreds of dollars worth of service. My mom has taken her car to this Midas a couple of times and said they give great, honest service. I decided to take it here for my oil change, which was much needed since I had been procrastinating taking it in before the service light came on. Oops! My car had been making a rumbling noise in the engine, but I attributed it to the needing an oil change and the cold. I did not mention the noise to the technician or to the manager at the time of the visit because I wanted to see if they found anything during inspection. Carlos, the manager, suggested the$49 oil change for cars over 100,000 miles (which I had JUST gone over) and offered it for $39. I went ahead with it. After inspection, I was told everything was fine but I had just a few small problems, like corrosion around my battery and two bulbs which needed replacing. I was told if I did both of the bulbs he would give me the license plate bulb for free. So I thought oh, what the heck, go ahead. Doing this service here would be cheaper than doing it with the jerks at Scion anyways. Total cost of parts and labor was $86.44 After pulling out of the shop my car felt great. I didn't have the humming noise, I didn't notice any problems, and I had a lot of good faith in this place. HOWEVER The other night I noticed while braking that towards the end of my stop I heard this weird noise and felt something strange in the pedal. That was funny, I had my inspection done about a week ago and everything was fine according to my sheet. I disregarded it as part of this extreme cold we've had, maybe I had ice in them. The next night my brake light came on for a brief moment. Again last night it came on on my way to Des Plaines, but during my ride home it was off. I still heard this weird noise. I decided to take my car over to Countryside Auto Parts on Bloomingdale and North Ave. for a second opinion since my mom did some work related stuff with the manager and said they really seemed like an honest, new, family owned parts store. This is where I really get angry. Chuck, one of the service guys asked me to come out to the floor to take a look at what he found. I was mortified when I saw my rotor was smooth up until about a half an inch around the rim. My brake pad? There was no brake pad. When Chuck asked when I had my last inspection was, his eyebrows met his hairline when I told him about a week. His eyebrows went even higher when I told him I was told there was nothing wrong with my brakes. He said that at the very least I should have been told my front brakes were down to 10% and that if I wanted to salvage the rotors (and save some money) I should have them replaced as soon as possible. It angers me that I had all this miscellaneous BS done to my car and paid more than I should have instead of putting my money towards something as essential as brakes. What makes me totally furious is the possibility that this guy who did my inspection didn't really look at my brakes at all. And what makes smoke come out of my ears is the possibility that the mechanic and shop owner KNEW about the brakes and didn't say anything to me, and lied to me, because they thought I would come back in there with this problem and that they would make some big money on four new brake pads and rotors. How ever they managed to royally mess up, it isn't right and it is costing me money. The shop I'm going to now is nice enough to take the price down for me and is only charging me $240 for everything (parts, labor, time). It is inexcusable to not notify someone of their brakes being that low, to lie and say the brakes were in the green, and give me a false sense of security. I'm going to blast the heck out of you and your shop, Carlos! I'll be going to corporate, every review outlet, Facebook, and then come down to your shop with the pictures of my shredded rotors and brake pads that even a 3 year old could distinguish as being low. And if your shop doesn't get put out of business I hope this blows the lid so far off your lousy mechanics and scheming service so you never lie to another woman about the condition of her car again in fear she'll be as, if not more, vocal as I am. P.S. The plant in your lobby is moldy. Hope no one calls for a quality inspection for your dump of a shop. read more

Honestly, I never thought I'd be writing a review for a car servicing location - but here I am! I was very surprised when I called in and the man on the phone was VERY pleasant (I believe his name was Tom) thought they were booked for the day, double checked and had a couple of openings that were in a short time frame - luckily I live closeby so it worked for me. When I got there the guy at the desk was also very nice (Anthony), double checked the correct phone number to let me know when my car was done. When my car was done I had a voicemail letting me know the oil change was complete, they recommended an air filter and some belt was having an issue - so I called and said to do the filter but not the belt right now. When I got there I asked more about the belt, he said it was showing wear but I'm not at a critical place with it right now - they didn't try to force me into doing it RIGHT THEN and honestly for that I'll probably go back there in a week or so when I have the time to get that taken care of. Very nice, polite and I felt like I could trust their opinion. read more

Currently, I'm sitting in the Midas shop lobby and waiting for the gentleman to finish fixing my brakes. It's 8PM on a Friday night, and I didn't have an appointment. The man at the counter, who's name I've embarrassingly missed, offered to fix my car tonight knowing I couldn't make it another day or two with my brakes the way they sounded. I asked if there was a water fountain nearby and he said no - then proceeded to give me a bottle of water from his own cooler. This isn't the first time I've had positive customer service here. I was looking for a place to get an oil change and was told this was a good local spot to get it done. The oil change was done and done correctly. But what bothered me was I was told i needed all new brakes. I told the mechanic that how is that possible when i changed all my brakes and rotors 3 months before. With a puzzled look on his face he says give me a minute. Walks over to my suv comes back and says oh that was my mistake. Then I was told i had a headlight out. I entertained it and asked how much will it cost to change and was told around 120 dollars because the tire needs to be taken off along with the wheel well cover and it takes a while to change. I said no thanks and changed it myself which took 5 minutes without taking the wheels off. If i didn't know any better i would've been spending way more money than i had to. Not so sure about these guys. Had a noise shudder, shaking, squeaking on driver side. Not being a mechanic I diagnosed it has something to do with the rods or bearings or steering. They convinced us it was the tires were failing. Over 400 dollars in tires and now the noise is twice as bad and twice as loud and now they want to sell us on a fixing the problem. Seems fishy. The tires weren't brand new defiantly had life left. So now I'm out the cost of tires and driving with the same worse noise. Think twice. read more

Just had my 2nd bad experience here. Do yourself a favor and find another place to take your car. 1 - About 6 months ago I brought my car in for oil change and tire rotation as well as a few other things. Get my car back and as I'm driving the next day I hear that my radio is static. Climb up to see that my antenna is missing. I call the Midas and mention that I had an antenna when I dropped it off and they try to tell me it wasn't their fault and it likely got swiped after I picked it up. After me arguing for some time that this happened while the car was in their possession, they finally said they would cover the $8 antenna but are not "admitting fault." 2 - My husband brings his car for oil change and tire rotation yesterday. Drives straight home and stays there. We wake up this morning to a flat tire which is caused by about a 1" slice on the OUTSIDE of the tire. Not like we ran anything over. We call Midas and they said of course that there is nothing they did that would of caused it. Add on to that, my husbands tail light is out yet Midas is supposed to do a full inspection to include checking your lights. Coincidence that a tail light goes out in less than 12 hours and his tire has a gash in it that would not be caused by running something over? I think not. First of all , I would like to respond to those negative comments. LMFAO! its so funny that people blame their misfortune on the mechanics. Sarah- when they were doing your oil change , they have no business going and checking your brake pads! UNLESS you ask them to , in which case they will. It is not their fault that you don't know when to change your brakes. Plus you got way over charged at the other place where you got your brakes fixed , midas wouldve done em for $120 and not $240 which you paid. Also the person with the slashed tire?, if in fact they did slash your tire , your husband would not make it home let alone drive for a few days. Now for my review, I love this place They are really friendly and they are not pushy. I change my oil there all the time and have no problems. They always check the tire pressure, all fluids, refill my window fluid and check my battery. When there is something that needs to be replaced like an air filter, they always bring it to you so you can see that in fact it is dirty. When I got my new car in 2010 and had some scratches on it , they were the first ones to notice and offer tips, they weren't trying to push me into letting them fix it . The manager simply told me a simple solution for it . I had my brakes done there on my civic and they did a great job, also good job on getting me new tires for a great price. I'm a girl but i know a lot about cars and they know that. I would highly recommend this place, great people with awesome personalities work there! read more

Stay away! This is the most dishonest auto shop that I have ever encountered! To sum up this place - I'd say that they love to ignore the actual problem with your car and proceed to find and repair something not yet broken. They have pushed repairs on me that i KNOW I never needed, and they have even gone as far as acting like my car would explode if I didn't get two separate repairs before leaving their shop. Oh, what a dramatic performance it was, too! I didn't know shitty mechanics had such a flair for acting. But, I digress. Initially, they come off as honest people, but I know cars, and I'm embarrassed at how much money they've gotten from me. Left my wallet at home, and noticed my tire pressure was very low. Stopped in here and asked if there was anyway they could fill my tires for me. I was shocked at how nice they were when I was promptly told "absolutely". I told them I live a couple miles down but I could come back and give them money, in fact I insisted I pay, but they refused the notion entirely, filled my tires and wished me a good day.. This is probably the best car body shop that I have ever been to. Not only does the general manager care about your car, he genuinely cares about his customers. He not only went out of his way to attend to my car, he gave me follow up calls to make sure everything was okay and worked with me in every single way. After visiting the Midas in Bloomingdale my faith has been restored with customer service. My friend recommended Tom whom she has been going to for over 20 years. Recently she went there to get a new battery and after he checked into the situation realized it was under warranty. He clearly went out of his way to help,at a loss to him. After knowing what an honest person he is I went there to get my wiper arm fixed, he came out to the parking lot fixed it within minutes. I chose this Midas location because it is near my work and I needed my brake lights fixed stat! I've never been to a Midas location nor have I ever yelped. This place deserves a review. From my phone call this morning all the way until I picked up my car a few hours later the men would assisted me were nothing but 100% kind and professional and helpful. Totally reasonably priced. Tom (manager I think ??) was quite helpful and very courteous. He explained what was wrong w my car and then gave me the solutions to repair them. It was very nice that he let me know to go to their website (on my phone) to pull up coupons that helped me save money during my visit. When I got my car back, all the noises and shaking were gone and I was certainly very happy. Side note: while I waited, I noticed how Tom and the other guys interacted w the other customers, who were likely regular customers or recent customers as they referred to them by name. Be careful! They use high pressure selling. They tell you that your car has problems that it doesn't. They charge top dollar for repairs. They have slow service and below average employee customer relations. They are always busy for some reason, but I don't recommend you go here. Go to Brach's in Winfield and save big money. read more

SCAMMERS! DONT GET SCAMMED BY THIS PLACE! I called for a quote to replace my spark plugs on my Santa Fe and I was told the job was going to take 2.5 hours because the spark plugs were underneath the gas tank. If you think spark plugs for a car's ENGINE is underneath the gas tank then you should have your ASE certification revoked. He literally said you had to take the gas tank off to change the spark plugs. A quick search of a YouTube video of the job shows of take 30 mins max. I get they want to get the most of their money so they'll quote you on the full hour bout 2+ hours?! Also, the spark plug under the tank is ridiculous. Made me laugh. read more
