Went to b and l at 730 am to meet a buddy for breakfast. It is a greasy spoon breakfast joint this places normally open early. Surprised to learn that they open at 8am. We left and ate elsewhere. read more

Stopped for lunch and after having our temperatures checked (Covid) we had the chicken club (with bacon and cheese) with fries - sandwich was tasty, plenty of bacon and good size piece of chicken. Fries have a breading - not my fav. We also had the pea-meal bacon with fried egg on a bun and it had 3 nice slices of bacon and perfectly cooked eggs. Folks were very friendly. Great spot in a busy area. Nestled in a small strip mall with Scotiabank, Subway, Chinese food restaurant and such, the B&L Country Kitchen does a great job. We stopped for breakfast at 11:00am and the place filled up quickly. Good breakfast menu with eggs any way - sunny done right- and the mushroom omelette was good and filling. A table of regulars sat close by and ordered breakfast, sandwiches and burgers. All looked good. Friendly service and not expensive. Nice to find a real dinner amongst the fast food chains in the area. Would definitely come back. read more

Went for weekday breakfast and ordered 3 eggs with bacon, potatoes and brown toast. Service was prompt and efficient and my coffee never was empty like a true diner. When the breakfast arrived eggs was cooked perfectly and potatoes were crispy and nice. The surprise was a dozen pieces of bacon, 12 beautifully cooked pieces. I thought ok, they must think I am hungry and really like bacon since I have never seen 12 pieces served anywhere else, but it turns out that it was the norm. $7.65. They serve other standard diner fair so if you are ever in the neighbour check this place out, oh BTW I finished all the bacon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

This is a staple of Uxbridge. Always busy. Always friendly. If you're looking for your colloquial "greasy-spoon" fix... this will do the trick nicely. Wonderful diner in small strip plaza. B&L has the best hamburgers in town. Also recommended are Peameal on a kaiser and the Club sandwich. A consistently good family business which never disappoints. read more

My BF and I were out of TO on a road trip, got hungry, yelped and found this place. Busy, full of locals which is always a good sign. BF had a big breakfast (loved the tasty sausages) and I had yummy French toast, with a huge side of pea-meal: Cinnamon offered with the syrup a bonus! Liked that there was a variety of portion sizes. We went out on the spur of the moment to grab a quick bite and not being into the fast food variety we decided on either Wimpy's or B&L. I'm glad we went to B&L. We arrived about 12:30 on Sunday and the compact place was buzzing. Just about full, but we were invited in. We were immediately advised that the debit and credit system was down and it was cash only which obviously deterred no one. We picked a table for two at the end of the counter next to the kitchen and waited a bit. As I said, it was busy. We semi-cleared our own table from the previous diners and soon the rest was cleared and cleaned by a multi-tasking young lady running the cash and front counter. Soon thereafter our order was in the hopper and I was able to see my egg and bacon hit the flat-top next to the nice pile of home fries. My partners western omelette was right behind. I had asked for an extra order of bacon and when my plate was delivered, the three perfectly-prepared over very easy eggs were hidden by perhaps a dozen slices. The omelette across the table from me looked equally scrumptious. We cleaned our plates. It was such a great home cooking style in a traditional diner atmosphere that I couldn't believe I have passed by B&L for years and never tried them out. I'm definitely returning for more of the same wonderfully friendly service and to observe how what appears to be organized chaos in an over-busy time can produce such a pleasant experience. Try them. My husband ordered the burger and it was fantastic, definitely 5 stars. The cheese omelette on the other hand was awful. It's made with cheese spread or process cheese rather than real cheese- unfortunately a big disappointment. We'll come back but won't order the cheese omelette again. read more
