Support your local small businesses. This a great company. I had my solar put in 9 years ago and the company that did it went out of business. There goes my warranty. So when I started having issues with the system, I contacted half a dozen different companies about coming out to troubleshoot and repair. Most of them just wanted to sell me new equipment right off the bat, chasing the big sales and not interested in helping. ABC was willing to do a service visit and give it their best shot. Well, their best shot included quickly locating and correcting a wiring failure (burnt out connectors), and then working directly with Enphase, the manufacturer of my existing system, to identify the parts that needed to be replaced. They even arranged for failed parts to be replaced under warranty! The crew was smart, friendly, and kept me informed throughout the whole process. If you're looking for solar, maybe skip the big corporations that don't care about anything but profit and give ABC Solar a shot at earning your business. After a terrible experience with Ameco Solar, we needed someone to take down our solar panels while the roof was repaired (due to Ameco's screw up in installation) and replace them after the work was done. ABC did all of this for a very reasonable price. It took a few months to get them replaced due to ABC doing so much work in PV after the landslides, but they did excellent work and let us know what was going on the whole time. read more

ABC Solar has my highest praises I had an issue with my solar panel system that I bought from a different company many years ago. I sent ABC Solar a message asking for an estimate on how much it would cost to fix. Bradley gave me a suggestion to reboot my inverter. He would walk me through it over the phone at no charge. After debunking and educating 8 different solar installation companies I was ready to go DIY on my own home solar. One company insisted that I needed twice as much solar as I know I really needed, another half as much. Still another basically called me a fool for not selecting the lease option and letting them take my tax credit. I out-and-out told one I had arranged to buy my own system an $1.82/ watt and they graciously bid $6/watt for an inferior, foreign made system and when I asked them exactly why it was going to cost me $22,000 just for the installation portion they said "All solar installations are quoted on a $/watt basis and they couldn't alter it". I'm so glad I ran into ABC. I told them what I wanted and what I wanted to pay and they worked with me to come up with a very reasonable bid. As a bonus they were an acceptable vendor for the Hero program (I think they are accepted by PACE as well) so I was eligible to get my system for no money down, no payments for a year, keep my tax credit, sell my excess electricity to the power company and write off almost 100% of the system for tax purposes. Oh yes, and as a bonus the system is beautiful, USA components, the installation was great and the system is cranking out way more electricity than I use (saving up for summer Air Conditioning). Erick from ABC basically stalked the county and power company people until they gave us all the permits and permissions we needed to complete the project. had my system for 3 yrs now. Brad and Mike are the best. Brad still support me when I call. I recommend them to everyone who asks about solar and for them to do their own homework and get multi-bids too. I wanted to give the small local guys a chance as well as the big name guys, but ABC won the bid. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. Very reasonable bid, competitive and most of all HONEST. Brad was very patient and explained everything to in simple terms to me and my wife. He even made the Hero program guy come and explain the tax benefits and financing to us. So I got my system for zero down, no payments for a year, get a tax credit, sell extra power back and basically write the system off on taxes. Great company. I would definitely recommend them. ABC Solar installed the PV system on my house in 2016 and I am very happy with it. The owner Brad Bartz is a smart, straightforward, interesting, and somewhat unconventional fellow. He is passionate about solar power and helping remove government and other impediments such as HOA rules that would impede people from being able to utilize PV. My home has a concrete tile roof which made me a little bit hesitant to put in a PV system, but Brad explained with diagrams how they'd do the installation on a concrete tile roof, and it all worked out as he said it would. I went into the attic during a torrential rainstorm we had in the winter of 2017 and saw no evidence of any water leaks. I sized my system at 24 panels so that it would power the house including AC used conservatively during summer, plus charge our electric car which we drive about 1200 miles per month. That worked out well, as I haven't had to pay for electricity in the nearly 2 years since the installation other than the $10/month that SCE charges to keep the house hooked up to the grid. The system produces about 13,000 kwh per year, or about $3,250 worth at $0.25/kwh. I purchased the option for a "Secure Power Supply" that will produce about 1.5 Kw at 120V even when the grid is down. It wasn't intuitive how to get the Secure Power Supply to work, and I had to experiment with how to get it to work and then make written notes for the future in case I ever need to use it. Since the installation Brad has been there anytime that I had questions about my system. He's been great. One of my neighbors saw ABC working on my house and subsequently used ABC for his installation and was also happy with the work they did. read more

We are so happy we chose ABC Solar! They attained a local permit and started the work within 2 weeks of my first phone call, and the job was completed a week later. They were so great and considerate every step of the way. The job was completed in early July, and our bills have been about $1/month ever since. It rained for the first time a couple weeks ago, and we had a minor leak in our garage. Okay, follow me here: I had a company called Independence Power over to do a diagnostics on my Solar System (Installed 2008) recently. The inverter was reading offline and power wasn't being generated. The previous installer, California Solar Engineering, had closed shop and was nowhere to be found. IP did a quick look and insisted that the problem wasn't the inverter (which was reading offline) but the panels. I would need to do a panel by panel diagnostic, removing every panel and testing each and every one. In order to do this I'd need to dole out several thousand dollars just for the testing which would require an insured team to carefully maneuver over my admittedly steep garage rooftop, remove the panels one by one, then re-install them. IP was adamant that this was a panel problem and that I'd have to get some if not all the panels replaced, billing BP Solar for the cost with a preference for getting more money out of BP than was required if possible, then celebrating the spoils of victory of evil BP. The President of Independence Power assured me he had my best interest in mind and that he truly wanted to help me. I don't have a doctorate in Solar Engineering but I sensed much of his theorizing was suspect, and all biased towards him billing me (as well as BP solar) an exorbitant chunk of cash. Enter ABC Solar. They had two guys come out. A quick look over the system, they tightened a single loosened connection and the system was up and running at absolute full power. Cost for the visit and the fix? Absolutely zilch. They even put helpful stickers on much of the equipment to facilitate easy service on the system if needed in the future. But over the years, ABC have serviced me with such professionalism that I would recommend them highly. Recently, 1 of my inverters weren't working. Mike called the manufacturer, had another one shipped under warranty and replaced it. I paid $130 for the service call. But then today, a month later, I received a check from ABC Solar for $130 because the manufacturer paid them for the work. NOW THAT'S HONESTY! So rare in business!!
