I can't even begin to explain what an angel on earth Montel is! He came right over on a Sunday and bravely entered our crawl space- all we knew was there was some kind of large animal in there. Thankfully, it was "only" a cat. If Montel hadn't come, that poor cat would have been trapped in there- hungry and scared. Brent of B&M Trapping is great. His quote was slightly above a quote I had seen in reviews, but he explained that the quote is slightly higher because he is based out of Oakland and he slightly upcharges for work past the Caldecott Tunnel. No big deal. Brent was completely transparent, explained to me that he at one time worked for a government sponsored animal removal service, but decided to start his own company. He explained that he surveys/rebaits his traps over a set number of days (I believe it was 10) and empties the traps as needed on each daily visit. He removed 2 skunks that were living under our outside shed. He also explained that he does not kill the catches but rather releases them in open space. Frankly, it didn't matter to me what he did with them as long as they were gone. In summary, he did a great job, we haven't seen nor heard from other skunks nor small animals in over 8 months time, and based on Brent's transparency, pricing, and confidence "he'll get his skunk", I would certainly recommend his services again. read more

I only leave reviews when it's a 5 star product or service and B&M Trapping is a shining example of a well-run family business that delivered as promised. They were my first call and my last. Why? After explaining my situation in the initial call, Brandon said we will be there in 1hr and get started. I was immediately impressed and they showed up exactly on time. I explained to them how the skunk breached my crawl space and tried for weeks to get rid of them, using the tips from the internet (moth balls, ammonia, etc), which btw DOES NOT WORK! They were sympathetic of my failed efforts and advised that those methods are not fail proof and not a long term solution. They took time to explain the habits of skunks and their territorial behavior. And why the best method is to trap and relocate them to another geography and back into the less urban populated areas. And what close the deal was their guarantee that they will only consider the job complete when they are 100% sure that the skunks were vacated from the crawl space. After setting the first trap, the next day, we caught the big guy and when I called them at 830am to break the good news, they came within the hour to extract and replace with a new trap. Now that's service. And during the next few days, we trapped two more skunks and each time, Brandon and crew came within the hour. Amazing. My saga dragged on for close to a month but the team was patient and professional through the whole process. A repeat customer, called these guys two years later to have them help me remove the third skunk I caught. These guys are very nice when I called to make sure they are still in business so I can go ahead with setting up my cage for trapping. One day I checked and sure enough I got something fuzzy, black and white in the cage! These guys drove from Oakland first thing in the morning, took the stinker in an enclosed container and removed it from my house. We still had to boil lemon water for the day as our stinker let out a last fart before calling it a day. There are more than the skunk I caught so I am setting the cage again and will be calling these guys again with another fuzzy skunk to take care of. Recently, we got someone to inspect the roof and we saw piles of raccoon poop overflowing the rain gutters. Apparently, for years our house is on the path of a raccoon freeway and our roof is their rest stop. Ew! Recently, I discovered due to covid, neighbors gather nightly round our home to view the raccoon parade making noises and fighting climbing along the front of house to the roof. Excellent service. I had an opposum in my garage that sneaked in and didn't want to leave. They were at my property in 10 min. On arrival, within 1 minute, he quickly grabbed it by its tail using a stick and captured it in a gentle way. He placed it in a trapper and will relocate the oppsum. Very nice guy. Can't say enough good things about these guys. We've been working with B&M for almost 9 months now (including about a 3 month quiet period over the winter when the critters left us alone for a little while) and they've been just great the whole time. Nothing fancy, but absolutely professional, prompt, experienced, and fair. Over this time we've trapped and removed 14 raccoons and counting (plus one giant rat that set off the trap before the raccoons got there). And for anyone reading this who sees 9 months and freaks out, know that we live near Golden Gate Park in SF. Raccoons are just a constant/continuous fact of life and they've been digging up our garden for years. We were never able to get rid of them until now. It's all about patience and expectations. And Brent, Brandon and Montel have been very good about setting expectations and educating us about raccoon behavior. Ha! After you're done, you'll know more about raccoon behavior than you ever wanted to know. We started with a family of 5 (one female and 4 juveniles), but in between getting all those guys, we trapped several transient males coming around. Then we got another female probably looking to take over the territory of the previous family. Then we must have had random ones parachuting in from all over. :) At one point, we got 3 in a row three days running. It was crazy. Now it's a new season and there's a new batch around doing their damage. So patience. I'd also say for anyone looking at a long siege like us, look into B&M's DIY option. The traps are easy to bait and set and you can put them out or take them up as the situation dictates. B&M will come around only when you need another critter removed. Works great for us. We live in a small gated community and somehow wildlife always seem to try and move in under our porches. I have had my run ins with possums, a family of raccoons and now, a family of skunks. You would like think living in Oakland, you can call the City of Oakland and have Animal Control come and help, but unfortunately, that's not the case. You have to wonder where all of our tax dollars goes.... but whatever! As it comes to this family of skunks, they were just a little too bold just actively playing in our main walkway and couldn't risk any of my family or neighbors getting sprayed so I started searching for different resources. These guys were amazing! A skunk moved in under my house and they came out the same day to set a trap and take the stinky beast away. Upon arrival they noticed the creature sleeping and instead of setting a trap Brent decided to catch the skunk with some very sly (and quiet) moves to sneak up on it. Wow. It was incredible. They snared the skunk, put it into a sealed container and were out of there in less than 45 minutes. And the skunk never sprayed them! A man who identified himself as the owner used the term "white privilege" when I told him the raccoons, skunks, etc., had lived in my neighborhood longer than humans had. I telephoned him after seeing a B&M Trapping pickup in my neighborhood 2 days ago with traps piled in the back. He didn't give his name, didn't let me finish one sentence, and talked over me. He apparently refuses to consider alternatives such as animal-proofing and repellents even when neighbors are opposed to wildlife removal.
