Listen. Five star joins can be found in the most unsuspecting places. We pulled into the B & P Drive In for lunch while driving from Bristol, TN to Winston-Salem, NC, I couldn't help but smile. This place just has that local joint vibe. The runner came out and checked on us then we waved when we were ready to order and she turned to the car window. We got two hot dogs, onion rings, and potato wedges. As she was walking away, I yelled out to please add one more plain hot dog. The food was ready quickly and was all super hot. So hot that we had to let the onion rings and wedges cool before taking a bite. The whole meal was very reasonably priced. But what made it special was, the plain dog was for my puppy riding with us and the server recognized that and gave it to use for free. That's the thing that memorable experiences (and five star reviews) are made of. The food was really good and I'm looking forward to going back. Ordered a hot dog and some onion rings. Hot dog was good, but there wasn't much chili on mine. Onion rings were whole onion slices, and they were good. Prices are great. $1 hot dogs on Wednesday. $5 daily specials include chicken sandwich, 1/4 lb. burger with cheese, or chicken nuggets, and it includes fries & canned drink. read more

I've been going to this drive-in since I was a child 55 years ago and it's still good. It was called Willys in the old days and then became B&P Drive Inn, same family. You can't beat the old-fashioned hamburgers and hotdogs if you just want a bowl of brown beans, they can make you happy there as well! read more

This is a great local place just off the main drag. They open 7:30 for breakfast and close at 1 after lunch on Wed, but 8:30 test of the time. Prices are great and if you call ahead they will bring it out to you when you arrive. I got the quarter pound cheeseburger deal including fries and drink for $5. Hard to beat for such an awesome tasting meal. They also have Meadow Gold soft serve ice cream and milkshakes. Give it a try if your in the area! read more

I stopped here for dinner en route to my stay in Fancy Gap (about 20 minutes away), and was so happy I did. Such friendly service, and we called ahead for our order, which they had waiting for us when we arrived. We ordered two specials (1/4-pound cheeseburger, fries, and a drink) and a strawberry milkshake, all for under $15. Everything tasted yummy, and it was the perfect local no-frills meal to find on the road. If you're in the area, I recommend it! read more

I hesitate to share my review for fear that this great place will become busier. It is easily the best burger and dogs in town. They also have a great breakfast menu. They have seating inside but most people go for the curb service. All the locals go here, and sometimes it gets busy. I like to call ahead so there is less wait. Especially at lunch. read more

I'm going to start with the positives of this local favorite that's been in existence since the 50's. We both had burgers and fries and the food is dirt cheap. If you like your burger with "everything" like I do they don't skimp on the lettuce/tomato etc. If you're looking to step back in time to a 50's drive in type place this is it - they'll bring your food out to you if you call ahead. This place stays busy, so I thought the food must really be something but in fact it's just a paper thin probably previously frozen tasteless barely there beef patty. The fries were freshly cooked which I appreciated, but were nothing more than what you could get in the freezer section at the supermarket. I think the patrons must be locals who have lived here forever and are fans due for nostalgic reasons, I've had some amazing burgers (Farm Burger, Juicy Lucy's etc) and this doesn't come even close. read more

We absolutely love this place. The food is wonderful and they are so sweet and friendly. I'm very picky and I don't eat burgers out very much. If you like them thin or thick they have both. They use my favorite mayo Kraft. They only sell the quality food they would feed their family. Love this place, if you haven't eaten there, try it, best ever read more
