While roadtripping to a water park in WV we decided to try this place! So glad we did! It was soooooo good we stopped on the way to our destination and on the way back home! Woohoo It's sizable, clean and the staff very friendly! They also offer nice patio seating as well! I opted for the veggie omelette with hashbrowns and they sure know how to crisp them up the way I like just shy of burnt lol so you get some crunch or texture and then throw in some sautéed onions and oh weeeee you have something tasty going on then. Another thing they do exceptionally well is their cappuccino- I've been to Italy and had the real deal and this was super duper close the to authentic stuff! The portions are good and service fast! They really pack the omelette with fresh veggies on the veggie omelette! We plan on making this a regular stop anytime we are in that part of the country! read more

Is this place new? I LOVE IT! On a road trip for vacation and find a place like this to walk around and get some amazing food!!! Didn't have a ton of business but definitely deserves so much more. Service was very speedy and was able to get out with in moments but didn't feel rushed to leave. The decor was so cute and beautiful really sold me on the name and vision for this cafe; felt like I was eating out in my dream home. NOW the things I judge on. Bathroom: So clean and had good access. 5 out of 5 Food: we got quite a few things. 1. Pancakes $3.50 - they are huge fluffy and so sweet. If you don't want a sweet option might not be the best. 4 out of 5 2. The Complete Trifecta $11.50 - classic but good (you really can't make this better you can only really mess it up) and this was well done. 5 out of 5 3. The Barn Owl $12.50 - this is more of a potato, Mexican sausage, cheese, and egg with pico on the side. This was well done and was a nice mix up but not too spicy. 5 out of 5 4. Biscuits and gravy $5.00 - it is what it says it is... 5 out 5 5. Latte $6.00 - pretty good 4 out of 5 Prices were good for a sit down breakfast spot. Took awhile for our food. Service was good husband liked his Philly cheesesteak sandwich. My chipotle chicken salad was not good. Avocados were brown. Overripe tomatoes were nasty. Not a fan of this salad. I wish I ordered something else! They did take $5 off. read more

Googled a breakfast spot and this place was ranked amongst the highest so gave it a try and was everything we hoped it would be. Slightly small townish from the outside but super nice in the inside. Very cozy. Service was friendly and food fantastic. Definitely would recommend. read more

The place is very clean & very modern & appealing decorated. The place looks like it belongs in a big city. Although it was pretty busy, we were sitting within 10 mins. The service was good & fast. The food was pretty good & the price was ok. We had the traditional breakfast with perfect eggs over easy, crisp bacon, home potatoes, & a multigrain toast. I stopped by The Barn Cafe which is conveniently located off I-77 Exit 14 in Hillsville.  This breakfast and lunch restaurant seems pretty popular with the parking lot almost full. They serve up mainly breakfast fare such as egg dishes, omelets, biscuits & sausage gravy, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, pancakes, waffles, breakfast sides, fresh brewed coffee, espresso drinks, oj, and bottled juices. The lunch menu offers sandwiches, burgers, salads, and soup. The pricing seems fair, most platters $8.50 to $16.25 in 2024. They charge a 3% fee on cards. Upon entering, there were folks waiting to be seated with a 20-30 minute wait. However, the host had me seated promptly at the last open seat at the coffee/espresso bar (6 high chairs). A server came around to take my order. I ordered the Southwest Chorizo Omelet ($9.50 plus tax on special) with homefries and multi grain toast. The other special was the Biscuits & Gravy Platter which was very popular.  My omelet plate arrived in 15 minutes after ordering. The amount of food was just right including omelet filled with Mexican chorizo, green serrano pepper, roasted onions, peppers, cheddar & Monterey jack cheese, sour cream and pico de gallo on the side. The omelet was very spicy from the peppers. The home fries were fresh cut potatoes, grilled and seasoned. The one slice of multi grain toast was buttered. I finished my plate and the server promptly cleared the dishes and brought the ticket which was $10.76 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food I had was solid good and I saw that the Biscuits & Gravy Platters coming out were generous portions. I had already eaten earlier on, so I wouldn't have been able to finish that choice. read more

The food was good. My wife ordered a lunch entree with shrimp, & asked if she could substitute chicken for the shrimp, the wait person said yes. We got the bill & were charged for the entree with shrimp and a charge for the chicken. We did not get the shrimp as requested. The wait person was also the cashier at the front, she said we had to pay for the shrimp. We were told by the cashier that this is the "managers", policy. What a nice surprise! Right off I77, this restaurant was great. The decor was tasteful and very clean. We sat near a coffee bar where we could watch as fresh squeezed orange juice was made! Menu was breakfast and lunch - no dinner offered, although we would go back if they start. Service was quick and attentive. This was our first time stopping here. The food was absolutely delicious! They were slammed and the kitchen might have been a tad overwhelmed but it was worth the wait! My waffle had a nice slight crunch. The eggs were a perfect over medium potato's cooked perfectly. My wife had the biscuits and gravy and let's just say I know that gravy was homemade. So good! Ordered the Biscuits and Gravy platter: gravy and biscuits was cold and rubber feeling, the sausage was hard and burnt, the potato's weren't cooked or seasoned well being hard raw potatoes mixed with soft ones. the only shinning light was the eggs. I ordered the hamburger meal. My hamburger came completely raw (as in not cooked at all, appeared as though it came out of the package and was squished onto the hamburger bun). They apologized and cooked me another hamburger. My family had already received their meal. By the time, I received my cooked hamburger, my family had finished their meal (I did not want them to wait as theirs would have been cold). I was still charged the entire price for my hamburger meal, even though the server and the cook saw that it was completely raw. I cut it and had not taken one bite.
