I had a great experience with this moving company, and I found them because of Yelp, so I figured I would give back to the community and add my good experience here. It was easy to call and make an appointment. The rate was totally reasonable given the other estimates I got. The 2 guys showed up exactly on time and moved me really really quickly! Granted I only had a few pieces of furniture and lots of boxes for a small one-bedroom apartment, but I was still impressed. This is a family owned business who prides themselves in quality work and putting the client first. I cannot speak highly enough of this company. I called them last minute when the mover I hired was a no-show, and they were able to fit me in same day. They were professional, friendly, and responsive/communicative, keeping me up to date on where they were with the job proceeding mine. They were unfazed by how frazzled I was as the result of the irresponsibility of the no-show company. When they arrived, they completed my move quickly and professionally. Finally, because I did not use them for their labor-only minimum amount of time, they actually came back to help me (a few weeks later!) to move a misplaced delivery. This is a very late review for a move we did last November of 2015 within University Place, WA. We have moved interstate multiple times (CT-IA, IA-CT, CT-IL, IL-WA) and intrastate (2x in CT and WA) since 1996 and BandZ is, by far, the best movers we have used compared to Mayflower, United Van Lines and Bekin. The men (Zac, Brandon and I forgot name of the 3rd) came on time, were very professional and hard working, and very pleasant. Despite the difficulty and challenges, the men were in a good spirits throughout the move. Not a single word of complaint! If you are familiar with the terrain of properties overlooking the Puget Sound, you will understand how steep these properties could be. We moved to a house with a very steep driveway uphill and the moving truck could not go up because its rear end hit the ground. I immediately called Lani and "complained" about why she sent a large truck when I specifically told her the driveway into the house we were moving to had a very steep, not gradual, uphill slope where the lower level was elevated from the street level at least a full storey high, and our unit was on the upper level, therefore a full three storeys above street level. She told me not to worry and assured me these guys were professionals and would find a way to get our stuff into the house safely and carefully. And they did exactly that, hauling each and every item up the long and very steep driveway. These included brand new appliances including a high end 48" commercial dual fuel range! For the first time in our multiple moves, not a single item broke! They even credited us for the 30 minutes lunch break where we provided them with pizza, soda and cold water. read more

Moving is ALWAYS a nightmare, but B & Z made it so easy! Having been someone who has moved myself plenty of times and knows well the experience of 57 trips to the car, or maybe 3 or 4 car trips and then being sore for weeks after from all that heavy lifting, B & Z is essentially a group of miracleworkers. From beginning to end, they helped make our move as smooth as possible. On the day of the move they were friendly and professional and helped ensure that the actual loading and unloading of the truck would be painless. Parking in Seattle -- especially to where we were moving, in the International District, isn't exactly easy but due to their foresight we were able to have them in and out pretty quickly. Our movers were casual and made smalltalk but were always moving. There wasn't any feeling of obligation or weirdness in speaking with them. During our move I found myself feeling pretty fond of them both, to be honest! It was almost like hiring much stronger versions of my friends to carry heavy furniture for us. There was a slight hiccup on the administration side of our apartment complex and B & Z discounted the time from the end total, since it wasn't our fault, which was really kind of them. Hopefully, we won't have to move in the near future, but if we do, we'll be calling B&Z again! read more

Needed help packing up my apartment and loading it into my rented moving truck. I thought everything was clear about what I needed help with (packing everything in my two bedroom apartment and moving it), but apparently I needed to specify exactly the items necessary for packing everything for them to bring. The movers showed up on time at my home, with boxes. Boxes only. No tape to form and close those boxes, no paper for packing fragile, and no real details of what was necessary. So my wife had to run to the store to purchase packing tape and find some packing paper. The movers did a sound job packing up the truck once they got going, but the poor rating is for the lack of detail when it came to what the job required - especially when I was paying by the hour and I needed to go out to purchase the things necessary to get he job done. read more

Entirely unsure what the costs would be after a day of filling out sketchy "forms". Never could get a straight answer about simple labor costs. At all. Perhaps they were not interested in providing two movers to load my u haul truck. Should have just said no. Seemed easy and straight forward. But, I was told "they dont do buisness like that". After attempting to clarfy costs in simple, direct language. I repeatidly recieved lengthy, rambling, "estimates", and explenations, w/ the wrong date, well over $1000. My question was ; how much for two guys, for 2 - 3 hours, to help load my rented 26' u haul. Im not sure how they "do buisness". When I do buisness, I like to understand the terms, conditions and charges. Like the paying 110% of the $1300+ "estimate" that included two trucks and three movers. Entirely NOT, what I asked for. I'm going through a divorce and they made moving easy, they were responsive, showed up on time, worked hard, and were willing to help me deal with all kinds of issues that came up. The freight elevator in my complex had another mover in it despite I reserved it, another unit had piled up their items around the elevator on my floor and they helped me not only get through each challenge but still managed to come in under their quote. I was kind of worried hiring movers because of all the horror stories I've heard of other people, but I had no other choice. On the phone, they were the friendliest and seemed like "normal" people. haha, other people seemed to be trying to upsell me and add lots of extra charges. I moved from Olympia to Seattle. They gave me a really great price. They finished sooner than the time they had estimated for. The movers were really nice. All of my furniture made it nice and safe. I hired this company based on reviews I saw on Yelp, and I, too, could not have been happier with their services. We were helping our daughter move out to her first condo, so they moved her bedroom furnishings, our entire bonus room (family room-type furniture), misc. boxes, lamps, etc. The team ( 2 young men ) were awesome! The were courteous, respectful and extremely careful. They were careful moving all the furnishings so as not to damage or scratch them, but equally as careful not to damage, dent or scrape walls at our home as well as her new condo. I was thinking we were going to need to touch up paint - but I was wrong; they did a great job and I sincerely appreciated it. Yikes, I thought I'd posted this back in July right after our move. This is the second time we have used B&Z. We had such a good experience the first time that we didn't even consider using anyone else. Zac, one of the owners, responded immediately to my short notice request, sent me an inventory questionnaire in order to give me a quote. We had two great guys show up and so much time has passed I sincerely apologize at this point for forgetting their names. They worked nonstop moving us out of a 21st story downtown apartment to a 4th floor setup in West Seattle. Just getting the truck into the alley in the middle of downtown was a nightmare, but they kept their great "no worries, we got this" attitude. Access to the condo is via a very small elevator in a tight entryway, buyt they made it work somehow. They even hung around and helped me move the big dining table from one room to another to see how it looked and helped me unroll a very large rug and move it around too. This was as best of an experience as we could have asked for. Very professional and took care with moving our things. After seeing what had to be moved, they informed me the estimated cost would be likely much lower than first quoted. In the end, it was $300 cheaper. Both guys extremely friendly as was Lani over the phone. They were very hard workers and even took the time to play with my son and show him the truck while we finalized the paperwork.
