This is the first time I've found a company that's highly competent, professional, and competitive (pricing-wise). I LOVE these guys! I've had two different technicians come to my house and they've both been fantastic! I had the furnace and A/C replaced, and was so happy with the job that I had them add a thermostat (Nest) and a tankless water heater. Everything works perfectly! I had a tankless water heater put in at my last residence, and had nothing but problems with it and with the company that put it in. Same problem with the A/C in my last residence. I'm SOOOO happy I found them! Before I had them replace the thermostat, I was on vacation when the old one stopped working during the winter. They were able to get out to my house immediately (a few hours later) and fix the issue before anything froze. It was a Saturday at 8pm! I've recommended B.C. to another friend, and he thanked me profusely after they worked with him. The previous companies he worked with were inadequate, to say the least, and he's extremely happy with B.C. I can't recommend them enough! We have been using B.C. Building Services as our go to Heating and Air Conditioning service providers for 5 years. We tried Applewood and Lakeside previously and B.C. is hands down the best. They are very professional, always on time, have the best field service application for texting you when they are in route and invoice imediately while still on the premises a complete detail of the work performed. After calling another contractor and them telling us we need to replace our furnace for over $6k even though it is only 6 years old, we called B. C Building Services. Branden came to our residence on time during a snow storm, immediately found the problems and fixed it on the spot for a fraction of the price. I really hate to leave negative reviews but I'm not to happy w/these folks and would not use again. 5 years ago the AC went out in one of my rental properties. $2K later, they replaced the unit. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago - 5 years and 36 days later - my tenant calls and says the AC is not blowing cold air. I dig out my receipt, call them on a Thursday and OF COURSE the warranty is good for 5 years. The woman on the phone is very nice and says the soonest they can send someone out is Monday morning. I reserve the appointment and give her my tenant's contact info and tell her to contact him directly confirm the appt and send the bill to me. Monday morning I get a text from my tenant, they can't come out until tomorrow, one of their techs called in sick they'll be out on Tuesday. (Note: that Sunday was 100 degrees). Tuesday the tech comes out. I get a series of texts from my tenant relaying that the power disconnect on the roof where the AC is was off, had to be manually turned on and AC working again. Tech was talking about taking the heater unit apart to get to the coil, see if there's a clog somewhere. Tenant asked if a clog would cause the disconnect to shut off, tech says no. So tenant asked why he would need to do that if a clog wouldn't cause the problem. Tenant trying to understand and make sure I don't get charged for something unnecessary (He's an awesome tenant!) Next text: Now tech backing off on idea of tearing heater apart. Says fuses in panel with disconnect looked swollen like they overheated and should be replaced. Said they looked like the original fuses and weren't replaced when the unit was replaced 5 years and $2K ago (?!!). Tenant confirmed that fuses wouldn't have caused the disconnect to shut off, tech said correct. Net/net - the tech couldn't reach me get OK to replace fuses. So now my unit is still running on "swollen" fuses. Great. So I'll probably have issues again with this heating/cooling unit in the not so distant future. read more

I had B.C. replace 4 furnaces with two in a very difficult configuration - down in a small crawlspace. I actually felt guilty for having anybody work down there. They did an excellent job, kept everything clean, worked really hard, and stuck to their budget. I've been having house work like this performed for nearly 50 years. This is the best I've seen. I purchased a LG ductless Mini-Split Heating/Air Conditioner. I had looked at several other companies and brands. I found B.C. Building Services to have an extremely good product that was fairly priced. The quote was complete with no hidden "gotcha's'. I can't praise the installation enough. It was finished in the time window they promised. It was neat, clean and complete. The installation included some electrical connections that were required for the unit I opted to purchase. I would give the company a 5 Star rating. From initial contact, working with the office staff, financing and final installation the process was very satisfying and an extremely well-done professional job and company. read more

Unfortunately I would not recommend B.C. Building Services. On May 1 I had Steve out to assess out boiler and gas fireplace/stove. We are currently preparing for a government relocation and I was exceptionally clear in my communication that we were in somewhat of a time crunch. On May 22, Steve returned to service the boiler (a $2,500+ service). At that time he told me the gas fireplace would need a new valve. On JUNE 6, called and followed up with the office to learn that Steve had left for vacation without doing anything about my fireplace. He called me on June 10 to request that I send him photos of the valve because he didn't get the necessary information to replace the part when he was in my home either of the two previous times. On June 23 I posted in a local Facebook group asking for a different recommendation since it was apparent to me that B.C. Building Services was not interested in completing my fireplace repair. The following day I received a call from Steve informing me the he'd never received my photos, but he was going to take care of it... it was everyone's fault but his; the manufacturer's, the parts supplier's, his regular vendor's. He assured me that this week, 2 months after my initial appointment, my issue would be resolved to the best of his ability. Then today, July 1 he tells me he's on vacation until next week. I'm sorry, that is not acceptable. I would absolutely not recommend this company. The communication has been terrible unless I get upset about something. Reactively addressing customer concerns does nothing to instill any sense of confidence in their ability to actually do what was requested. read more

While there were a couple of small things to trouble-shoot (like a strange vibration that came and went), they were all great to deal with and genuinely interested in trying to get things right. BC Building Services is my absolute go to. I'm a real estate agent so encounter ALL of the contractors (well not ALL but many) and I am incredibly impressed by this company. From the minute you call and speak with Laura for scheduling to getting Steve, Curtis or one of their other wonderful techs out to solve your problems, you will not be disappointed. I live in a home built in 1978 that I renovated in 2008. Added AC to a house with a boiler system at the time which was not done properly. The problems I have encountered since have been handled effectively and efficiently by BC. For example, I needed a new boiler a couple of years ago. Had been quoted absurd amounts by other HVAC contractors and BC came in at a price that was actually doable and the net result was that I felt that as a single female in a largish house, I was not being taken advantage of. They have my business for life and every client of mine I've referred to them has been equally impressed. I have waited over a month to write this review in order for the dust to settle and the steam to clear my head. Hope to give an accurate review of the company. In April 2015 our A/C unit began to recycle room temperature air throughout the house without cooling it. Due to a home warranty, we were mandated to use B.C. Building Services. The technician said that a moisture sensor in the unit had been triggered which essentially shuts down the cooling function of the unit and that it could be reset simply by pushing a button. Over the course of the following two months the sensor would trigger once every 10-14 days which required me to climb into the attic and reset the unit. I knew this to be problematic, but did not take the time to make another claim/service call through the warranty company. However, in June 2015 upon pushing the reset button, it no longer worked properly and therefore the unit would not cool. I entered another service claim through the warranty company. B.C. said the soonest they could have a tech out was six days later. Since I did not have a choice in the matter I did not complain. Even though the company knew exactly what the issue was (I called several times to make sure they knew exactly what was happening, referencing the previous service call and wanted to make sure the tech would be prepared prior to the service call), the tech was unprepared. He claimed the part needed to be ordered which would take 2-3 business days. Six days later (which included a weekend) I called to check the status because we had not heard back from anyone at the company. They said the part should arrive the following day and they would be out to install the correct part. This is now two weeks following my initial contact. After the tech installed the correct part and left, it was approximately 30-40 minutes and the unit was malfunctioning once again. I immediately called and they scheduled an appointment for the following day. At that appointment he claimed to find another problem, but now with the outside portion of the unit. My complaint at the time was that he did not properly inspect the entire system to make sure it was functioning correctly when he diagnosed the sensor malfunction. This new problem would supposedly have to be fixed at another time due to parts, available time, etc. The technician became very hostile with my wife and then with me on the phone. Inferring, in my opinion, that we had sabotaged the unit in order to create problems. Why I would sabotage an a/c system in order to live in an overheated house when it is between 90-95 degrees outside defies all logic. We were now on our third week and had four service calls from B.C. Building Services without any progress. I called the warranty company to recount the sequence of events and to relay my dissatisfaction and to ask for a different service provider. The warranty company informed me that B.C. Building Services had called and resigned themselves from the claim because I had become too demanding and too difficult to deal with. At no time was I unreasonable, hostile or upset, I only wanted professional service and expected the problem to be fixed in a reasonable fashion. The company which came all the way from Thornton to service the unit the following day (July 3rd) was prompt, professional, conversational and had the unit working within an hour. The technician said that he diagnosed several problems which he learned "in the first day of A/C 101". A full month later and we have had no further issues. Following the entire saga I placed a call to B.C.'s owner as I wanted to discuss the chain of events, but he never returned my call. At some point I will make a choice of which HVAC company to use and under no circumstance would I chose to do business with B.C. Building Services. They were unresponsive, lacked professionalism and in my opinion lack expertise in their craft. I would advise any/all potential customers to look elsewhere. read more

Trey visited our house yesterday to service our air conditioner, which was lightly blowing room-temperature air through our ground floor. The coil was frozen, so he turned off the system and returned today to work on it. I wasn't paying close attention to the time because I was also overseeing our security system installation, but it wasn't long before he was done and our AC was running like a champ again. Trey was courteous and professional, and walked us through everything that was wrong so we could approve the work and to ensure that we understood the situation. When he was done, he even showed me the temperature of the air coming through the registers. We asked him to take a look at the AC unit that cools the second floor because it seemed to struggle to maintain the correct temperature upstairs. He recommended that we wait for a few days now that the downstairs AC was fixed because he suspected that the warm air downstairs was rising, leading us to think that there may be a problem with the upstairs unit as well. He added that he's happy to check it for us, but would have to charge us for it. We decided to wait, knowing that we could call him if there was a problem with the upstairs unit after all. He was only here 12 hours ago, but it's already obvious that he was right. Thanks again for the help, Trey. You'll be our first call the next time we run into trouble. read more

The company did a poor job with our HVAC work which caused our basement to have a water problem that ruined the carpet in a bedroom. Their technician was very kind but the company would not admit to the poor workmanship so we were left with paying to replace the carpet in our bedroom. I would NOT recommend anyone use this company. read more

Once again Josh came through in a pinch for me. I called to have a gas leak looked at on my Furnace in the attic and Josh sent over one of his techs within 2 hours. The Tech tightened the gas line and tested with his gas detection device to make sure that the leak was fixed. Since BC installed A/C on the unit a couple of years back their was no charge for the visit! This is the kind of service one expects in our small town and I was certainly expecting a charge of some sort for their efforts. I will always call BC for any of my future HVAC needs. I never thought I would do this but I am just so beyond frustrated with this company. I reached out to them because they had installed the furnace system for the previous owner of my home and figured they would be a great place to start to get some service and work done. I used their website to request some information and setup a site visit wanting to get a fresh air intake and humidifier system installed. Josh came out and was very helpful and professional and said he would get me a quote for the work by the end of the day. Unfortunately this is where the helpful professionalism ended. Days go by with no quote. Ok thats fine I didn't need it immediately anyways so after almost two weeks I send in another message through their website stating what I was expecting and when. No response. a week later I send another. Nothing. A couple weeks around the holidays go by and I call and speak to their dispatch and request that Josh contacts me with the information he said he would provide. She tells me that she has informed him and that I should get a call back within a day. Yea right. A few more days go by and I call again and am told that she got Josh's voicemail when she tried to call him. For a company who says on their website that "B.C. Building Services, Inc. takes pride in treating every customer as if they are our only customer" I am pretty sure they have no idea what that phrase means, because this has been the most worthless customer service ever. If you don't want my business at least have the decency to tell me you don't have time for me so I can stop wasting my time with you. The only upside is the woman answering your phone is very courteous and tries to be very helpful. Unfortunately she can't do much when no one else cares to talk to a customer. read more
