They did not tell me in advance that they charge a $139 call-out fee. I would not have scheduled an appointment if I had known.

Dmitri was out the day after I called Heatwave, did his own assessment, offered advice and did more to actually address the problems -- and while his ultimate diagnosis (replacement) was the same, it felt a lot less like I was being pressured to spend any more money than was needed. Will definitely call again.

I looked at reviews online for HVAC providers. The reviews for Heatwave (not on their website, which I would expect to be positive) were extremely positive 4.9 on 150+ reviews, almost too good to be true. These guys were a pleasure to deal with. Dimitri, the owner came out promptly to assess the noise issue, diagnosed the problem, and said "I can replace the motor and you can probably get a few more years, maybe", out of this and gave me a ballpark cost. The furnace issues were more severe. I decided to replace both AC & furnace. The price quoted for a Trane unit was very fair. The install crew Ivan & Arvy were very experienced. The install went smoothly. My phone calls or texts were answered promptly, they showed up on time and everyone I dealt with was very professional. I can't recommend them highly enough. And, no I'm not a friend or a relative, just a very satisfied customer. Believe the reviews; they are true. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

After the fourth visit and two failed inspections, I asked to speak with the owner. He said he'd show up on the final day and didn't. Not showing up after committing to do so speaks volumes. On multiple occasions, employees attempted to -- or did -- walk through my home beyond where work was being completed with their shoes on. This is a basic courtesy that should not have needed to be addressed. On the final day, an employee complained about the time spent waiting for the inspector to arrive. After five+ weeks of doing exactly that myself, I couldn't help but laugh internally. Most importantly, Summit advertises a "100% Right or 100% Free" guarantee on their website. These are not complicated words -- 100% means 100%, and free means free. There is no secondary meaning to either. When I raised this, I was told it essentially means they will keep trying until the job is done correctly -- which is admirable in theory, but falls well short of what "100% Free" implies when a customer has invested THOUSANDS of dollars. After reading the other reviews, I'm hoping the problem with my AC wasn't just a leak somewhere that could have been fixed for much less. I would strongly encourage potential customers to clarify what that guarantee truly means before signing a contract, and to get everything in writing.

Dorothy offered to schedule a tech that afternoon and then started running through the most common causes. Within ~10 minutes, got a call from this company who asked some basic questions and troubleshooted some things over the phone, without even talking amount payment or price. When that didn't work after an hour, I messaged back and they got me on the schedule for the next day (it was already 5pm by this time. They came promptly during the window and gave me heads up, figured out the issue in less than 15 minutes, and gave me a range of options and prices. He actually taught me several things about the AC and showed me how to do some repairs myself and where to get parts, and lo and behold it worked like a charm! Couldn't be happier with the quality, speed, and friendliness of the service. Got my AC pumping ice cold air in time to get the house cool for my kids' naps. Davey will absolutely be my go-to from now on and I would recommend them to anyone and everything.

Tuesday November 14, 2017: I was contacted via text message from "Rod" after I submitted a project request to HomeAdvisor requesting quotes on a new water heater. I was quoted $1,064 for a "Rheem Professional Classic Plus" electric water heater by text message including installation and running electric service from my basement sub-panel. Thursday November 16, 2017: "Roy" and "Rod" come to my house for installation. "Rod" runs a 240 volt electric line from my basement sub-panel to the water heater location approximately 10 feet away. "Roy" arrives, disconnects and drains old gas water heater, installs new electric heater, and puts in expansion tank. Water heater is functioning. Saturday November 18, 2017: I contacted "Rod" by text message at the number he provided previously, as we have no hot water. The breaker for the heater on the basement sub-panel is tripping continuously. No answer at this number, so I call Riteway's main number on Monday November 20, 2017. Receptionist dispatches a tech to my house that day to troubleshoot. I did not catch this gentleman's name, but he had not previously been to my house earlier in the installation. He spends approximately 2 hours in my basement, looking up wiring schematics on his phone, and trying to get the heater to work. He eventually says it is mis-wired, and needs to go get a replacement heater from the supplier. He comes back about an hour later with a new heater, which he installs. It is functioning and heating water. Tuesday January 23, 2018: I contact "Rod" by text message as previous with concerns that our electric bill was coming in much higher than usual. I had inspected the stickers on the water heater, and found that the installed water heater was a "Rheem Professional Classic", and NOT the "Rheem Professional Classic Plus" as was quoted during my installation. I looked up the schematics on Rheem's website, and found that the currently installed water heater had an estimated annual energy usage of $555, while the sticker available online for the "Rheem Professional Classic Plus" electric heater has an estimated annual energy usage of $417. "Rod" asks for the name on the account, and I give it to him. I don't hear back this day. Thursday January 25, 2018: I contact "Rod" again by text message and ask if he was able to look into the above issue. He responds back a few minutes later asking for pictures of the energy sticker and serial number of the installed heater. I send them. I do not hear back. Tuesday February 20, 2018: I contact "Rod" again by text message regarding the absurdly high energy bills and requesting he look into the above issue. I do not hear back. Saturday February 24, 2018: I submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau of Denver regarding the above exchange. My resolution request is a refund in full, as I am not comfortable having an essential piece of household equipment (water heater) being warranted and serviced by a company/representative that will not respond to trouble calls. Thursday March 15, 2018: I contact Riteway Plumbing about the above issues. I am informed by the phone representative that the company, while retaining the name, is under new ownership and has limited records of previous customers. I am asked to send in pictures of my heater install and a summary of my issues so far. Thursday March 22, 2018 Despite asking me for a detailed email of my experience so they can look into it, I still have not heard back from Riteway. I've called today, and they don't answer. The answering machine greeting is a generic pre-recorded "Hello. Please leave a message after the tone."

A few years ago, when I lived in a 1950s house, I called him for an AC quote. Instead of just trying to make a sale, he took the time to explain that my old ductwork was undersized and would likely cause frozen coils -- and that installing AC wouldn't be a good idea. Every other company was still pushing expensive quotes, but he gave me honest advice that saved me thousands. That kind of integrity is hard to find. Fast forward -- I moved to a new home where the attic furnace was waking up my baby at night in the winter. He replaced it and sound-isolated it so well that it's now very quiet, even though it sits directly above my son's room. Later, I had him replace our main-level furnace too, and the workmanship and commitment to my satisfaction was unparalleled. Everyone I've referred him to -- friends, family, neighbors -- has had the same experience. His team's attention to detail, fair pricing, punctuality, and commitment to making sure the customer is completely happy are unmatched. Even when hardware compatibility issues have come up, they've gone above and beyond to make things right. It's also a true family-run business -- when you call, they actually pick up the phone, respond quickly, and stick to their word on scheduling. In today's world, that level of service is rare. I recommend them to everyone I know. If you want honest, high-quality HVAC work from people you can trust completely, this is the company to call.

What was the best was Joe did a great job of educating you on what is important in HVAC. He didn't try to sell you some warranty or "yearly maintenance plan" like other HVAC places. My wife and I called JUMP, and BJ drove out to our house at 9PM after working an install all day to give me a quote. He hadn't eaten dinner yet and drove an hour to come give me a quote. I was very impressed by BJs dedication. The got me a quote within 2 days, which my uncle who was a master HVAC tech in CO before moving out of state, advised me was appropriately priced. Install day Adam came out and he and his apprentice buuuusted their butts working in over 100 degree temperatures to get my new system installed. Unfortunately, while tearing my old system out there was a miss communication between Adam and his apprentice and a place to filter my system got missed. The next day I sent BJ an email, and over the next 2 months jump came out and tried to install some filter grills but apparently my returns are a unique size which required custom grilles to be made. BJ came out personally twice during this process and in general in general I could tell he felt bad about the issues that kept popping up. But I want to express, things happen, it was not JUMPs fault my returns were a wild size, and even though the filter slot on install day got missed, it was again the dedication from BJ to fix the problem that came up. I'm today's day and age everyone is so quick to trash people and company's over a mistake, which by the way unless you're Jesus, everyone has also made mistakes. I let BJ address the issue and his dedication and work ethic handled the problem. Although it was not a seamless process, I would rather work with a company who I know is going to make things right when issues arise than a company who won't stand behind their work. So long as BJ owns Jump I will be a customer to them. Thanks Bj, Emily, and Adam for all your hard work.
