Let me start by emphasizing just how many nail salons I've been too in my life...I've lived in Boston, Cambridge, Harwichport, Provincetown, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Gold Coast, Andersonville, Wicker Park, Lakeview, Rosco Village, Skokie and as of four months ago, Des Plaines. I've been getting my nails done every two weeks, religiously, since I was 16 years old (35I'm also a perfectionist, so I'm admittedly a pain in the ass as a customer, because I have extremely high expectations and I will speak up if those expectations aren't met (yes I realize what a monster I sound like, but I'm actually a decent person, I simply appreciate quality‍) So to sum it up, I've lived all over the US, specifically in three out of the five most major US cities and somehow I discovered the most talented, refined, skilled and professional nail techs right here in Des Plaines, at B Nails on Oakton and Wolf. The older women who I believe owns the place, is my absolute favorite; she is quick, precise, clean, creative (I often let her have creative Freedom with my nail color/designs) friendly, gentle (some nail techs are really rough and will hurt you, but she takes extra time if necessary to ensure your always comfortable) and lastly, she is very reasonably priced! I truly can't recommend this spot highly enough!

I got a mani pedi yesterday. I paid $55 which is average price. I asked the lady if I should get no ship on my toes and she recommended regular polish. After an hour of leaving my toe got completely smudged even though it should have been dry. I went back and they fixed it for free. However, they got messed up again. Reference the picture below. My no chip manicure has stayed in tact but, they need new polish. I don't think I'll be coming back it's a waste of my time.

I feel bad leaving this review because this use to be my favorite place to get my nails done. However, yesterday I went to get my nails done here for the 1st time since the summer. First of all, I asked for a coffin shape and she said it would be a $5 additional charge, which is normal for most salons. However as you can see in the photo I attached, my nails look more square than coffin and that was after I already asked her to fix them. She also decided to charge me an additional $3 for a matte top coat which has never happened to me at any other salon. I don't mind paying the extra charges for a job well done but in all honesty my nails look terrible.

I've gone to many many nail places & they have left my nails horrid..! but B nails exceeded my expectations & is my favorite now! I will be going here forever! Considering I bite my nails a lot, they were able to work with them & made me feel very comfortable and welcome. This is also the longest my nails have lasted! 1 month! it's been helping with my nail growth journey. I love B nails! read more

This was my first visit to the salon and I am sold! I found a new nail salon I am happy with. Jen was the sweet girl who did my nails. She's so good. I did the gel x set and she definitely knows what she is doing. She would even ask me if the lamp was to hot for me. Other times nail techs don't even bother asking. The owner was there and she was so sweet. And very caring. I would give this place 5 stars for the service. But the salon could of been just a little bit more clean for my liking. That was my only negative. The tools they used were clean but the area where you wash your hands was not so clean and floor looked dirty. I can't wait to go back! read more

I'm so happy with my nails my nail tech that I used to go to no longer was doing nails and I was searching for someone and I spoke with Gina she is the owner and told her that I have natural nails, and I use the builder gel, and she knew exactly what I was talking about. So I made an appointment the same day and she did an amazing job on my nails and as a bonus Mondays and Wednesdays are discount days. Beautiful lilac nails with chrome. I got a mani pedi yesterday. I paid $55 which is average price. I asked the lady if I should get no ship on my toes and she recommended regular polish. Enjoyed my experience here. Kim did a wonderful job on my nails & eyebrows and made sure from shaping the nails, to nail color, and eyebrow shape, that I approved & was satisfied. I have been to this nail salon 10+ times now and I have had a great experience every time. The nails techs are sweet ladys and very good at what they do. The quality of the nail work is outstanding I spent 2-3 months without getting a fill and my nails never broke once unlike my old salon. Wait times are good and the prices are also decent. read more

This is my go to Nail Salon! Stumbled upon this place on accident and I'm so glad I did! It's only 5 minutes away from my house. Kiera, one of the owners is the one who does my nails. I've come here 4 times already and she always allows me to leave a satisfied customer! I used to do the square shape nail but this last time she convinced me to try out the coffin nail which I've never done. I love my nails and happy I did something different. They also have many color options. I recommend trying this place out! You won't regret it! read more

LOVE!! I get dip nails and they are by far the best quality dip nails I have ever gotten. I usually have Kim do my nails and she is amazing and so thorough with her process. The price is great too for quality and preciseness of the nails. I left the nail salon I was dedicated to for 5 years prior to my first time at B nails and I'll never go back!! Visiting B.Nails literally made my day. My regular nail salon closed down and I found B.Nails while driving down Oakton. When I arrived, I was greeted with a warm Welcome and immediately shown to the polish colors. I sat down for the pedicure and the man helping me painted his own nail to show me the color I picked to make sure I liked the color I chose! Amazing. The woman did a perfect job on my nails. The service was a good price. The salon was very clean and I was treated very well. I am so happy I found this place and I can't wait to visit again in a few weeks. read more

The lady pulled out nail snippers to cut my cuticle from some drawer and after finishing put it back in there. Let's stick to facts: 1. Overfilled sidewalls to the point of pain 2. Very strange shape to the nails. 3. After applying builder gel the lady went in with a mechanical file and drilled my natural nail near the cuticle. (That's not the buffing before product application) so now I have damaged nails. 4. The product is lifting at the tip of at least half of the nails and food and debris is stuck in there and starting to smell. 5. I did call the business to try to recoup my losses but was only offered to come in. Needless to say I won't let them touch my nails again. This review is written and pictures taken 4 days after nails were done. I paid close to $60 to have this done to my nails.

A few visits ago they didn't have matching gel & regular polish that I liked & I tried out a new color. I was unhappy with it, so I asked if we could start over & instead of saying "no we close soon," the staff redid everything with a smile. I made sure to tip well that day since she did the work of two manicures! The music/tv selection is ever changing & but they are always willing to change the station/channel if you ask. One day it was rap & another it was country. Most days it's HGTV. All staff wear masks, gloves & manicures are behind the clear plastic table guards. I do not worry about covid safety precautions here, they are sanitary and safe. In regards to quality of work and customer service, I think they do a great job. They are honest with customers if they are not able to complete their requested task before closing & I would much rather have my nail technician focusing on my nails than stopping to greet a new customer. Most customers know to go to the nail wall & wait until approached. Overall, this is my go to place after living the in area for several years.

They have about 10 nail stations and 7 pedi chairs. The salon is very clean and everyone was friendly. They knew they hadn't seen me before. Denny did an excellent job on my nails. The price was reasonable and the service was efficient. This would be the kind of salon I'd visit regularly if I was local. Plenty of free parking. I watched another customer get an ombré manicure with an airbrush- it was fast and beautiful. They even added a flower design. This is the best my nails have looked in a long time. Definitely recommend booking with him! The manager, Tanmie, is also amazing. She is so sweet, attentive, and makes sure everyone is taken care of. I really appreciate how welcoming she is and how smooth the whole visit felt this time. So happy I gave this place another try. The girl that did my pedicure was on her phone practically the whole time until I said, "Can you…read moreplease get off your phone?" She's texting with her gloves on, unbelievable. Finally she had another girl take over and she was better. But not a very clean place either. I will not be coming back here. Of course I tipped because I was a waitress and I know how it is to rely on tips but not a good impression from this nail salon.

Nail tech Andrew is a Savage! He experience w/ nails are very strong. No offense he's the best around! I travel over an hour to get my nails done by this couple, and it's worth every single minute and mile! Not only are they talented, but patient... they really care about their client's satisfaction. They're attentive, yet they work at the perfect pace. I've honestly never NOT been happy when I leave their chairs. That's why I'm willing to follow them to any location they move to.
