We were lucky enough to be invited to the soft open of Spotz Gelato…read more This was not our first time enjoying Spotz. We have been lucky enough to have tried it at the Crave Food Festival and at our city's Summer Concert Series. Super excited seeing the owners opened a physical location. We were thrilled to see their theme from their cute polka dotted ice cream trucks into their new place. Bright pink with polka dots all over the walls. Amazing twine globes used as pendulum lighting. Beth and Phillip have created a fun, bright place in Georgetown. Speaking of... all of their gelato is created at their farm in Scott County! My husband tried their Affogato. He's a coffee fan! It's a scoop of gelato in a cup of coffee. Yes, you may spy a Keriug on the counter. In the spirit of staying green, they grind coffee from Twin Engine Coffee & place it in a reusable k-cup pod. He loved the coffee! I tried the peanut butter. It was rich and creamy just like granny's peanut butter candy at Christmas. In the past, we have always had the Banana pudding gelato. I cannot write about Spotz without mentioning how much we like that flavor! If you love ice cream, please give gelato a try. Creamier, richer, and carries more flavor! (P.S. Phillip was the Crave Festival Angel who rescued me with a drink a few years ago when spicy Indian Food was making my throat close. We have often wondered if we'd ever find that man again!)

They carry a slew of other dairy products such as cheese and butter. Flavors of ice cream vary as well as store hours based on the season. I believe their facebook page gives the most reliable source for hours, typically 11-9 through the summer. Staff is always super friendly, typically you'll just see Mrs. Rowlett making and serving ice cream while her brother is busy with the various cheeses and butter. Prices are sure to not break the bank and will certainly yield more than a few smiling faces indulging in such wonderful products. Craving more than a scoop or two? Well they've got half gallons ready to go home with you currently priced $12/each. My kids say Rowlett's is the best and I wholeheartedly agree!

I promise you, you've never tasted anything close to the coffee ice cream at Rowlett's Milkhouse Creamery. You'll thank me later. I took advantage of this beautiful fall day to drive to Campbellsvirg in Henry County and see this place for myself. Our office gets special treats on birthdays and I got to enjoy the coffee ice cream and I was in love. The texture was like silk on your tongue. The hint of coffee was just enough to fit through the sweetness to make it out of this world divine!!!!! So I'll shut my piehole about the coffee ice cream and talk about the other things Rowlett's has to offer. They have a large variety of cheeses, ice creams, ice creams and butter. I was looking forward to buying some butter for the banana bread I'm getting ready to make; however, they were sold out. Oh well, i'll have to make another trip there I guess. This business is locally owned by brother and sister Terry and Sharon Rowlett. I had the pleasure of meeting Sharon when I visited today and she was as nice as she could be. This is most definitely worth the drive and a great way to support local business. Y'all gotta make the trip. You won't regret it.

The charm of old tables with mismatched chairs, even a bench made from an old bed headboard. The staff is great. Quick to answer questions and offer suggestions. The bar is huge. Bottles upon bottles. Then there is the food. Locally sourced and cooked to order. My mom ordered the catfish. It looked delicious and she ate every bite on the plate. My breakfast bowl was absolutely perfect! Potatoes roasted to perfection with awesome hot sausage with eggs cooked to order and covered in the best sausage gravy that I have ever had! Note: I love sausage gravy and have eaten it all over the country. Bravo to the chef! We will be back!

We sat mostly on the front patio with a table or two inside later in the evening. Everyone ordered their own food and drinks. Adam and his bar staff took great care of us. They got the first rounds of drinks taken care of then took food orders. The deviled eggs were popular, plentiful, and delicious. I got the fried chicken (again) with a side of real mashed potatoes and gravy. It was fantastic (again). I really should try something else sometime. But others did and I heard no complaints. They serve breakfast any time and a couple got omelettes and cleaned their plates, raving about the hashbrowns (no meat fat to cook, so vegetarian friendly). All the cocktails were good. New seasonal menu had just started and the Marmalade Sour got good reviews. They have a larger patio out back and an ample dining room. It's a great stop when in Georgetown. Pics from my last visit but still accurate.
