This place was packed!!! There is a lot of different choices. My wife went with a brownie sundae with white icecream and hot fudge. Very tasty ice cream! We stopped by after dinner and I love the way the shop is set up. Plenty of seating if you'd like to sit inside and a few tables outside as well. Service was quick and the guy serving was nice. I'll definitely come back here when I'm in town! Great place downtown! read more

High quality ice cream! Visiting from Hawaii, we wanted a sweet treat after dinner. This place had all 5 star reviews, so we needed to check it out. In the Fall, the Apple Cider and Pumpkin Spice flavors are available. My family ordered the waffle bowl, that came with 3 scoops in of ice cream, that cost $6.36. Delicious local ice cream shoppe in the middle of a historical downtown area. We tried the caramel latte, strawberry cheesecake, toffee chip and peanut butter chip. All were good but the peanut butter chip was definitely the best if we had to choose one flavor! You can also get one scoop with two different flavors. The Nutella waffle cone wasn't really worth it- it was just a thin smear of Nutella along the upper 1/3 of the waffle cone. Could barely taste the Nutella. Go ahead and treat yourself to a scoop or two of ice cream in a waffle cone and enjoy it while taking a stroll around the neighborhood. read more

This is my all time favorite here in Frankfort, KY! It is a very pretty shop in a tiny little downtown . They have both indoor and outdoor seating! Plenty of ice cream flavors and very friendly staff! I love the hot fudge they have in here! Damn! Every time I go there and end up getting one You get to pick two ice cream flavors of your choice and the bottom layer is gonna have some warm brownie and the some chocolate syrup! Everything is then topped with some whip cream and cherry!!! So if you are not an ice cream fan , then you have this !! Fudgy cow milk shake with some whip cream on top! *drooling as I am typing* lol! They add something like a chocolate syrup at the bottom and I can't never ever get over it! It is THE BEST ! What's surprising is, the entire shake is just chocolate flavored but it has never felt that chocolatyy!! IT IS JUST PERFECT ! I have also tried their watermelon and orange whip! Hoggys has become a Frankfort gem and local favorite. It's unique location in the historic downtown area gives it an old timer feeling. It's one of the only non commercial chain ice cream shop in the city. They frequently change their flavors. But I am a fan of their soft serve. They offer a variety of unique soft serve flavors. I recently had the watermelon and mango soft serve and it was great! Definitely would recommend trying it. read more

I don't normally go for sweets, but I make an exception for ice cream at times. My running group ran through the quite streets of Frankfort and passed this place by chance. The smell of yummy cones being baked made us do a double take. At the end of our long run, we decided to go back and see what that lovely smell was all about. Boy howdy and I glad we did. The shop isn't small but was completely packed. There was people standing outside waiting to get it. The day was super cold and everyone was bundled up but still eating this great local treat. I wanted to get the challenge, but decided to do that in the summer. Instead, I picked 2 scoops. I chose the almond joy and the peanut butter cup. I also chose a fresh baked sugar cone slathered in nutella. Such a great choice. God it was good. They have a rewards card too. Make sure to get one and keep it stamped. United Dairy Farmer's Icecream in downtown Frankfort!!! The wonderful Hogsten family has done a wonderful job turning a canoe shop into an Icecream heaven! There's a pig pen sitting area upstairs. Plenty of seating down stairs. Unique Icecream flavors. Fresh made waffle cones and bowls. They kept the mural and added a pig eating Icecream. Downtown parking available. Great mom & pop ice cream shop in downtown Frankfort. Indoor and outside seating. Lots of options on the menu and 20 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream to choose from. Prices are reasonable. Waffle cones are the best I think I've ever had - nice and thick and I think there might be a hint of vanilla in the batter. This place is hopping and pretty much always has a line, but it's worth the wait. Staff is super nice and care about you as a customer. read more

This is a fun little ice cream shop in downtown Frankfort. It's definitely needed. The shop is also open Sundays, a huge plus! I waited til the out the door lines had passed before stopping by but I wish I hadn't. There is excellent scooped ice cream and cute decor at very reasonable prices. I believe there is also soft serve but I've yet to try that. The staff are really nice while still being efficient. I wish there was more outside seating is the only drawback. read more

This is such a need for Frankfort, a small ice cream shop. It's a very cute building, but small. I went on the day it opened with my mom, it was packed, although packed the staff were very nice. They aren't badly priced, they have about 8-12 tables to sit at, not counting the stools you can sit in by the window. I find it in a very convenient place, all the spring and summer events downtown will bring hoggys business. I'm very pleased with hoggys, and I do recommend you to try them! read more

My family had visited in 2017 and 2023 and raved about it, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, after visiting five distilleries during our trip, this was one of my least favorite experiences. To start with the positives: the tours are free, which is generous, and the drinks at the bar are reasonably priced. Our guide, Tony, was knowledgeable and friendly when answering questions. However, the tour itself felt underwhelming and lacked depth. We never went inside the actual production areas, learned much about the grains or bourbon-making process, or experienced the sights and aromas I expected from a distillery tour. Even my spouse, felt the tour was somewhat scattered and lacking in detail. The tasting was even more disappointing. The tasting room was simply a room where everyone stood, and there was very little that felt special or memorable. We were given vodka samples, which felt out of place on a Bourbon Trail tour, and the bourbon selections themselves didn't feel particularly unique. Water wasn't provided at the tasting stations either; we had to walk over to a dispenser and use tiny paper cups. Most surprising of all, the tastings were served in clear plastic cups. After each pour, our guide mentioned how much the bottle cost in the gift shop, which made the presentation feel even more underwhelming. We were even told we could take the plastic tasting cups home as souvenirs. I understand that the tour is free, but Buffalo Trace is a major distillery with a huge reputation, so I expected a more polished and immersive experience. Between the lack of access to the production areas, standing throughout the tasting, limited variety, lack of readily available water, and plastic tasting cups, the overall experience felt much cheaper than I anticipated. The lemonade from the outdoor bar was actually very good and reasonably priced, so that was a bright spot. Unfortunately, overall, Buffalo Trace was one of my least favorite distillery tours and tastings of the trip.

The web said they served breakfast all day, there was no breakfast menu on the table and we didn't ask.
