As many of you know, I was staying at an Airbnb in November and the owner of that Airbnb slammed into my car while I was sleeping. They had National General insurance which is basically cheapskate insurance and which precluded me going to a body shop of my choice unless I wanted to pay extra $ out-of-pocket. So I chose one of their recommended body shops which I didn't know was unprofessional and unethical at the time. I've had horrible service, poor workmanship and I've been lied to multiple times. My first preference would be to address this privately rather than publicly which is what I did. On my third visit the manager, Benjamin Lopez assured me that they would repair what they had ruined. I will post a picture of the ridiculous job that they did on the bumper and I was left with a back door which would not lock. I ended up having to go to the Toyota dealership, they fixed the lock in five minutes but charged me $95. They said that whoever fixed the door simply did not plug the connector in to the latch. I also asked the gentleman at Toyota what he thought of the work that was done on my car, and he said "you should take that back to that body shop, they need to fix this for you, that is terrible work." So all in all, Gerber collision screwed up the work, put my car at risk of being stolen, and then lied to my face about fixing it. I just want to make sure that people know that they suck.

It was as if I was inconveniencing me, that his team was not delivering on its claim. This is not a customer-focused business. Maybe if they can install at your house, but never going to this location again. There are better alternatives elsewhere in KC. Modern cars have cameras that see through the windshield and this requires "recalibration". Turns out that this store doesn't even have the software for many common cars, so if that happens, you can wait for hours more. This is because they won't work on other cars, even while they are in a stand still waiting for software. I guess if there's not many places, you can do whatever you want.

The repair job was great, and the customer service was excellent. It is not one of those intimidating car repair shops. Just last month I was hit again, this time by the USPS and Carstar was first on my list for getting an estimate. The process took 20 minutes at most and everyone there was friendly and professional.

I understood that with all the ice it could take a little while. after weeks go by I went back and they told me that it was going to be a while longer because they only had one lift to work on the vehicles that are not drivable. I called the insurance company and voiced my concern about finding another shop and they were against that and even said I could have to pay a restocking fee for the parts, so I reluctantly left my vehicle there. A few weeks go by and no one called or contacted us to give any kind of update unless we called and complained about how slow the work was being done. Last week they said it would be ready on Friday provided that the sensor came in for the repair to be complet, so today I was shocked to find out that Carstar actually called and told my wife that the vehicle would not be ready due to a cable kit being needed and it would be wednesday this following week. the insurance company has paid for a rental up until the 9th of this month so it has been an inconvenience for us only having one vehicle for the last two weeks so by the time I will actually get my vehicle back it will have been 44-45 days to me this seems a bit excessive. I don't have money floating around to pay for a rental for 18 days. needless to say this is my way of letting others know not to take your vehicle to the riverside Mo Carstar if it is not drivable they only have one lift and it will take a while if anyone is in front of you to get service. Lacking in communication about only having one lift I would of gone somewhere else.

What a disappointment…read more On December 19, 2022 I went to McCarthy Collision, in Olathe KS, for an estimate on my 2019 Nissan Rouge. At that time I set up an appointment for January 26, 2023 to have my car repaired (minor incident involving the rear bumper, right side); no other damage to any other body parts. I was also told it would take 4 business days to repair (replace) the rear bumper; I also paid $832.45 for parts (did not use my insurance since it would be less than $2,000). Please remember all this was done on December 19, 2022. On January 25, 2023 I dropped off, to McCarthy Collision in Olathe KS, my Rogue. On January 31, 2023 (the day I was told it would take 4 days to repair my car) I called, since I had a doctors appointment on February 1st, and was informed that McCarthy Collision did not have all the parts. The major question I have .."why wasn't I told by someone, anyone when I dropped my car off on January 25th and gave the keys to the receptionist that all the parts weren't in?" Please remember i paid for the parts on December 19th. I had to spent extra monies to rent a car to get my doctors appointment (canceling was not an option since it takes months to reschedule a doctors appointment). This is piss poor customer service. Before anyone says anything, I don't believe Covid-19 had anything to do with McCarthy not getting all of the parts in. People are to eager to blame everything on Covid. Ok, let's say not getting the parts were Covid related. That should have not stopped them (McCarthy) from calling me on the phone, or even emailing me that they did not have all the parts and not to bring the car in until they were ready to repair the car. My car was finally done on February 7, 2023. Needless to say, if I am in need of any bodywork on any vehicles I own I will not be taking them to any McCarthy Collision centers in the metro area.

My check engine light has been on for months, even after I took it to Jiffy Lube, in which wanted to do a transmission flush that would have totaled to $80.00. Paul called me and told me that I only needed an oil change that wouldn't even cost half the price of the service Jiffy Lube claimed that I needed. Paul was right because for the first time in awhile, my check engine light is not on! As a matter of fact, I'm just going to be honest, Paul said the oil change was on the house, and that he understands that I am a college student trying to graduate. I was prepared to make another appointment when I could pay him, but he insisted that he took care of the issue so that I could continue my daily commute to campus. It's simple things like this that mean so much to me. I graduate this May, but this journey has not been easy. It seems that everything in my life was trying to stop that from happening, including car problems that have prevented me from attending class several times. The fact that the mechanics took the time to be honest with me about issues, and not adding to it for personal gain, means that Roe Body Shop has strong core values such as integrity and honesty.
