Rice and Beans and Cajun Chicken
    BB Q.

More like a 3.8 though but I'm mainly judging JUST the BBQ options. Lot's of options here. Taco's, Steaks, Burritos, but I went for just the good old BBQ stuff. First impressions; Tiny place in an alright part of town. Area is like the last part of Urban Worcester you see right before you get into the woods of Paxton or whatever town is right to the north west of the city. No parking, but you just gotta find a spot on the side of the street, we were lucky. Super friendly lady working there taking care of everything! it seemed like. BYOB apparently, beer store right next door but they do have a cooler with some water and teas and Jarritos soda. Ok! Got the "West Side Regular Combo" just a few ribs, 2 wings,2 mini pulled pork slider (but she calls it a sandwich), she was nice enough to give me 1 Brisket slider and 1 pork instead so I could try it. Ordered up the Sides! Beans, Coleslaw, Rice and Beans, and a Cornbread. They got French fries and Sweet Potato Fries, Baked Potato and veggies for other side options. Partner grabbed some Cajun chicken breast. First, RIBS! Ok to be honest, not that great. Thin, not a lot of meat, a lot of other stuff going on inside (bits of bone where they shouldn't be, broken bone, cartilage, tendons, that stuff) I know that should be expected, it is meat. Just too much of it. Tender enough to peel the meat away with a fork though. But flavor was so so. had to dip the meat in the extra sauce which I usually Hate doing but their sauce is quite good. Wings! These are whole fried wings, they make that "N" or "Z" shape. Didn't know they were going to be friend but whatever. Again not much meat, kinda tough, sauce becomes kinda obscure when there aint much to the wing, but it was fine I guess. Brisket was super tender and juicy, almost just the right feeling I want in my mouth for Brisket, can't say much about a flavor though unfortunately. Pulled pork was pretty good, slow cooked in some form of sauce, it's always hard to tell. It's the pulled pork you want on a sandwich though, not the pulled pork you'd want as a scoop of it on a platter. This was very soft and stringy and full of flavor. Not to mention the cute little buns these sandwiches are made with are very scrumptious. Perfect for this type of meat. Chicken breast with the Cajun seasoning ... alright, chicken was grilled and came out great, the Seasoning though! Almost straight up chili powder. I know there aint no official ruling on what Cajun spice really is or can be but this was like eating hot sauce after the first 2 bites. Quality of the chicken was good, seasoning looked amazing, if you love the hot stuff this should work for you. Sides! Baked Beans looked great, texture was Spot on, little chunks of brisket or pork or bacon or somethin, flavor left something to be desired a bit but overall they were good. Coleslaw was Yums! Mayo based, not always my fav, but had a distinctive pineapple taste to it and what I think were Carroway seeds that gave it a fun little zing to the after taste! Rice and Beans! I know it's probably the most simple thing to make in the world but where has it been my whole life. Rice and Red beans So good. Corn Bread tasted great, I want to say it was just from a store bought mix because of how sweet it is but I don't want to assume too much. Little tiny muffin cup sizes. Overall the place is a great lunch spot and I can see how locals would riot if it ever closed. But I'd keep trekin on if your looking for some top quality contenders for New England BBQ

Hole in the wall BBQ place near WPI. The owner is quite nice. Ribs were good. Corn muffin's were to die for according to our kids. In general, the sides were very good.

Said this was nachos with cheese, me and everything it's straight up chili and cheese in a cup with some regulur ass crackers

gross they try to be Spanish, but they're not hitting at that point at all. Their food is sloppy, gross and mask served. Gross just like their tacos

I got the wings bone in with sweet chili and garlic buffalo. Really nice cook on the wings, but the garlic buffalo is way more garlic than one would presume so I just took them home and put more buffalo on them and that balanced them out really well. They have really good ranch. They also serve blue cheese. They do celery and carrots. I also got my husband some to go wings that they serve by the half pound when they're boneless and so he got a pound and a half and so every half pound you get a sauce option so he got three different sauces and he got the garlic buffalo also another one I can't think of right now and then he got this balsamic fig! It was the most interesting experience I've probably ever had on a piece of chicken was very, very good. There's street parking I don't think they have a parking lot but it's a small space. Honestly they probably do a lot of carry out just because I'm presuming only about 15 to 20 people could actually sit in the restaurant, but the quality of the chicken was really really high it wasn't that busy so the service was good That's it.

Damn ... this place got expensive! I went here several years ago and decided that I wanted to try…read moreit again. The prices had tripled. I am not blaming the restaurant because the world post-covid has gone absolutely insane from an inflation standpoint. With beef as their 'go to' and chicken no longer being a 'loss leader's (now costing what steak did two years ago, it's not the restaurant's fault. However, I nearly fell out of my chair when I learned the All You Can eat lunch price was nearly $50! For this type of 'cafeteria', a total shocker. The other (better) option is the pay per pound. $17 for salad bar and meat and $20 for just meat. I did the salad bar ... you'd be surprised how much two plantains and a slice of tomato weigh! Salad bar: The rice was very good. The plantains were perfect. The French fries were surprisingly good. They had all kinds of fresh vegetables, mayonaise-covered salads and a huge variety of items. I suppose it would be worth it to get this alone ... however this is where the heavy items that add weight to the price are. Meat station: The guy serving was nice enough but spoke maybe two words of English. I speak English, Spanish and French but no Portuguese ... so we had a difficult time when it came to relating how big a slice I wanted, or how many pieces. My guess is that he is hired more for his expertise running the grill than for serving. And he did a great job as the meat was cooked perfectly. Bacon wrapped chicken ... The only disappointment of the meal. The chicken (and bacon) was dry. It really didn't taste like bacon and the only reason I finished my piece was because I had paid for it. Flank steak ... So good! The outside had a nice char with a salty, almost crunchy texture while the inside was juicy and flavorful. This was my favourite item and I actually went back to get a second plate, despite how filling it is. Garlic steak ... Incredibly salty. A little goes a long way. I didn't get any garlic taste ... it was mostly just salt. I liked it but would choose the flank steak (which is also salty) over this as the marinade made it a little drier. Pork sausage ... Very nice. I didn't notice a huge difference between the spicy and non-spicy but it was cooked really well and it was flavorful. Pineapple ... Okay, this is a must get! This was oddly my favorite part of the meal. I have never had pineapple this good. It is done on the grill with the entire pineapple and they slice pieces off. It is covered in a brown butter sauce that is so flavourful, it is certainly one of the best pineapple dishes I've ever eaten. Because there was a line and the pieces of paper with the meat choices are mostly in Portuguese, I didn't get to try all I'd have liked to ask ordering felt rushed with the line waiting behind me. The all-you-can eat will likely give you the opportunity to try a little of everything. Overall, the better value seems doing the pay by weight and going back for seconds if you are hungry. My first plate was some salad bar stuff (tomato slice, cucumber, plantains, yellow rice and a few french fries) plus a strip of flank steak, bacon wrapped chicken and a pork sausage. That was $17 and I could have stopped there. My second plate was two strips of flank steak, a strip of garlic steak, a piece of pineapple and two plantains from the salad bar. This one was $12. My total with a $2.25 lemon aid (terrible and flavorless from a jug) and a tip was around $35. Expensive for lunch ... but I probably didn't need as much steak on round 2 as I left feeling stuffed. Everything was tasty and while the atmosphere feels more like a cafeteria in a Caribbean country ... and the seating arrangement makes you snake through tables to get to the salad bar or meat station, everything seemed spotlessly clean. I will certainly return again, despite a fairly high lunch price. If there is one tip I can give you ... don't skip the pineapple from the meat station.

Yeah, I wrote my first review of this place almost exactly two years ago and I was just starting…read moreout my BBQ Reviews. Since then I've been to over a hundred other places. I regret giving them 5 stars based off of the Ribs from that day and nothing else. I guess they have a second truck in Florida during the winter? Maybe they just take to truck to Florida for that season but it's a bit annoying because they keep saying where they are going to be but not what state. Anyways ... Still no regular brisket, just the sandwich. Now they have Egg Rolls ... yippee. I've come to a determining factor when it comes to the quality of BBQ spots. Unless they are known for them, if a menu has Egg Rolls or Loaded Mac and Cheese options ... it's probably bad. Need to spend a bit more time making your Mac and Cheese GOOD before throwing a bunch of bbq sauce and meat on it to make it look like it's good. And Egg Rolls are just ... no. Focus on the quality of the meat right out of the smoker, not all this dumb "how can we make it seem like fair food that dumb people will buy anyway". So Ribs were dry, not pre-cut like they were before, extra hard bark, Slathered in sauce to the point I was carrying a styrofoam carton of sauce with some ribs for garnish. Didn't even get a plastic knife to cut through them which wouldn't have worked anyway. Clearly these were cooked days ago and just reheated. And I was the first customer of the day. And they opened up 30 minutes late. Mac and cheese was extremely flavorless. That means it has so much NONE flavor to it that it sucks any flavor out of your mouth so you can't taste Anything. Just a White cheese sauce that should win a prize for least flavored food ever ... water has more taste than this. Coleslaw was too old, cabbage wasn't crispy anymore, drowning in mayo. Only reason I was eating it was because I needed to get the taste out of my mouth from the dry ribs. Oh and they had "on special" Fried Cornbread Bites ... Which is translated into Literal Language as "We have some old corn bread so well slice it up, butter it, and throw it in the frier for a few and charge more for it and call it a special" ... This is not quality BBQ. And they have 2 sauce options. Sweet and Hickory ... why they slathered my ribs in Sweet is beyond me. Doesn't matter anyway, they don't make either one of them. All these other 5 star reviews, especially the ones saying they've had BBQ in North Carolina and Tennessee and all that, If you don't eat BBQ like crazy then I guess you'll think it's great. Not every BBQ joint in the BBQ Belt is automatically some of the BEST BBQ on the planet. A LOT of them REALLY SUCK! But if your standards are chill then I guess you'll be okay with this place but personally I feel like you are getting scammed. Days old Ribs, Flavorless Mac and Cheese, Whole menu section dedicated to "Loaded" mac and Cheese to make it taste like something, Menu section dedicated to Egg Rolls to make it taste like something, Old Slaw, Brisket Sandwich but no Brisket plain, pictures posted of the same items aren't matching up, "Fried Cornbread" which is old cornbread but costs 3 times as much. Sorry, it's just not cutting it for me.

Situated inside the Worcester Public Market, which is right at Kelley Sq, parking can be a little hectic. Of the several times I've parked in this area, I've managed to find street parking by driving up either Green St. or Harding St. The interior is a bar countertop that wraps around the central kitchen area and bar stools. No traditional seating if you're hoping for a traditional restaurant experience. The server was very friendly and the whole place had a great young, kinda rebellious vibe going on. We ordered two things and were quite disappointed with the quality of the food and the immense wait time. Da Wangs ; we came here precisely for Korean Fried Chicken which is especially known for being double-fried. The cook pulled them out of the heating drawer - already fried as expected - and dropped them in the fryer... and then proceeded to disappear for several minutes. Oh no. The plating of the dish looks delicious, but biting into it... the worst fried chicken we've ever had. The skin was so hard and crunchy and the burnt taste was unavoidable. The only redeemable flavor was the very paltry glaze of hot honey on the wings. Gnocch Bokki ; we love tteokbokki and this seemed like a really interesting take on it. we watched the chef fry up the aromatic ingredients and mushrooms for what seemed like forever. AND he disappeared multiple times. We don't appreciate waiting 40-50 minutes for food for no damn reason. The rice cakes had a delightful crisp to them, but the duck was utterly dry and unenjoyable despite the sous vide description. The sauce was unpleasantly cloying after the first few bites. I don't know what I'm suppose to take from the flavor profile, but IMO it just tasted like a plate of hoisin sauce. The bartender/waitress talked about how she had past career experience as a food safety (or health?) inspector and it was interesting to listen to... and shortly after that she grabbed a bite off of a large sauced-up plate near the burners... and then the chef proceeded to use that same plate to glaze our wings. We will not be returning.
