And being a former competitive power lifter, I really appreciated the powerlifting room that was full of quality equipment from Texas Strength Systems and Rogue Fitness. Not to mention the three full sets of kilo plates which is something I haven't seen at many gyms. I think it's great there is a general fitness area that still has deadlift platforms and squat racks and a dedicated powerlifting room. They also just recently added a cardio balcony that I forgot to take a picture of but it's a nice view while doing cardio to overlook the gym. Overall, this is a great gym that I would recommend to anyone from a beginner to a serious competitive lifter like myself. Great gym!

There is a nice mix of clients that frequent the gym, and it just has a nice, laid back vibe for the most part. This location recently got a bit of a glow up! I didn't recognize some areas when I came back, but it was in a great way. They incorporated a section of free weights that before only consisted of dumbbells, cables and machines, so this was a welcome addition. They also brought in a lot of new machines to replace the aging equipment. I noticed just today that some of the machines have digital screens that count the number of reps you complete and the amount of rest time in between sets. It's automatic. You don't even have to program it or push start, etc... I really only use the weights, as I get plenty of cardio at work, but they do have a decent selection of cardio equipment as well. They also have tanning beds and hydro massage therapy, but again, I can't speak to these, as I don't utilize them. If you're thinking about getting back to the gym for the new year and starting some healthy habits, this is a good place to do just that in a variety of ways to keep you from getting bored or stale.

My primary concerns are the use of tripods and video recording, which seems unrestricted, and the differing expectations for male and female attire, as the males are asked to keep their shirts on, while the females walk around in nothing more than a bra and panties. Implementing a universal dress code requiring shirts would promote a more inclusive environment. Moreover, moderating the music volume and diversifying the playlist would cater to a broader range of preferences as I'm sure most people would agree we do not want to listen to songs by Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys from their very first albums. I cancelled today (June 25). That means I was a member for 6 months and was exempt from the $25 cancellation fee. Just minutes after I cancelled my membership on the app, my bank was charged another $14 for the month of July. Apparently it was in the fine print of the sign up documents that they would do this. Here is the email I received from their Customer Support: Hello Michelle, The terms on the membership are a 30 days' notice for cancellation. Anything owed up until the date of cancellation and any payments set to draft in the next 30 days are owed. We apologize that you were unaware of this policy as it is in the membership agreement signed at the start of each membership. We love having you apart of the VASA Fitness family and want to have you stick around! We wanted to offer a one month credit to your membership if you'd like to stay. Please let us know if you'd like to have the one month credit placed, or continue with cancelling your membership. It's only May so it's about to get brutal once the temperatures outside go up to 90 or 100 defrees. On Monday because of the ac not working I go to the broken aarow location to do cardio and then I drove to this location (woodland hills) to work out and lift weights. The woodland hills location needs a need ac unit bad. The staff has said it toast. Well when I was at the broken aarow location doing cardio Monday because their ac works good there the broken aarow location said that they got approved for a brand new ac unit. I thought that was crazy because they don't need a new unit. Woodland hills is the one that needs the new unit. It makes 0 sense to me. The broken aarow ac works perfect there. that's why I do cardio there. Hopefully woodland hills gets the ac fixed because right now it's not that hot outside and the temperature yesterday was 79 degrees at midnight when I went. In the upcoming weeks it's about to get brutal.

It was 10AM on a Saturday and no one was there. There is access to the gym 24/7 with a membership ($30 or $35 a month). They have cardio machines and a lot of weight equipment. I was nervous but ready to go! I met with a personal trainer since I am no where near my goal. His name was Judge. HOLY, there was no messing around. We got to work and worked the entire 45 minutes! There was little rest and he kept my muscles and me focused on the task at hand. Super kind and very motivating. By the time I left I couldn't wait for the next session. No nerves, no intimidation just motivation! I noticed the gym didn't have a Yelp review, but I am telling you if you are looking for a low key gym, who surrounds you with good people and good equipment or if you need a trainer ($35/session for 1 (group rates too)) OR you are into competing, want to reach a goal, etc.... this is the place to come.
