I told her I didn't ask about cancelling but pausing. She said there's no pausing, again in a harsh tone. I might join again when I have more time. I had been told a couple of years ago that I could pause for a couple of months. I guess they changed that policy.

If you need to borrow gloves and have no idea (like me) how to rap them get to class about 15 minutes early and someone will help you! The workout starts with about 15 min of intense 'warm ups' with exercises like lunges, sprints and jump rope. The bulk of the class you'll be hitting that bag with instruction. Sometimes it's hard to hear the instructor so try to get a bag close to him/her. Finale 10 minutes are ab intensive. You'll leave needing a shower!

It was especially nice because all the trainers do their classes slightly differently with different types of workouts, which keeps things from getting too boring or stagnant. It's a beautiful space with two dance studios available. The floor is perfect for dancing. Their larger studio has a sky light that makes it brighter. I love the art on the walls as well. They have a myriad of dance classes available for kids, including hip hop, Afro beats, jazz, ballet, west African, and modern. There's also a summer camp program from June to August. They also offer painting and drawing classes, including classes and events for adults. You can drop into their weekly classes or purchase pack class passes. You can check out the calendar on their website to see what's coming up. You can also register online. This is one of the few Black and female owned studios I know of in Tulsa. The owner, Jacelyne Jackson moved here from Florida. She has extensive training in dance from the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre Summer intensive program, and was a former dancer of Dallas Black Dance Theatre II, and one of the top 25 finalists on "So You Think You Can Dance" Season 7.
