When they served us the Tomyum shrimp soup they told us they were still cooking the shrimp and would bring it to us later. So we had the broth of the soup but no shrimp. I'm actually pretty surprised at all of the great reviews. The wait staff was very nice, but the food just didn't cut it for me. I had Panang Curry Chicken. I have experienced this dish many times at other Thai restaraunts and this one was lacking in flavor. I also ordered the cocunut soup which I could'nt even stomach, it a had a funny sour odor to it. The food here was...ok. I would have just overlooked it and never came back. But the service was so horrible. First, when we came into the restaurant, it took a while for someone to actually greet us. There were only two other tables that had customers at the time. So it wasn't like the staff was so busy helping others- they were just standing there. When we were finally greeted, the staff told us to sit anywhere we liked. Here's a list of issues I had with this place: 1. They served us stale seafood crackers that tasted like they'd been sitting out all day. 2. They rushed to service a family that came in after us BEFORE us. You read right. About 5 minutes after we were seated, waiting for someone to acknowledge us (once again) to take our food and drink orders, another family came into the restaurant. Our melancholy waiter instantly perked up when they came in, and literally RUSHED to immediately take their orders and serve them drinks BEFORE even acknowledging us. That was the last straw. I came here because everyone else's reviews and pictures looked good. I've had a craving for Pad See Ew all week. I ordered it here and took it to go. There was more onion than noodle in my box. I brought it to split between me and my husband but I just gave it to him. The flavor was NOT there. It was so subtle and it made me mad cause Thai food isn't about subtle, it's filled with flavors and that's I love it so much. I was very disappointed. Great place, probably representative of the best Thai you're going to get in Conyers. Prices are probably only a little cheaper than what you'd get at a better place, generally it's 10$ per entree. We were in the area. I had not been here since 2012(maybe it was a different Thai restaurant then). My daughters and I love Drunken Noodle with tofu. We gave it a try. Hands down the best Thai I've ever eaten. I used to HATE Thai food until I ate here when a co-worker took me in 2001. Since then I've never seen a health inspection below 100%. This place has changed management. I went today and the food was awful. I will never return. This used to be my favorite Thai place in Conyers... My Dad ordered the curry fried rice. The rice was sticky and had almost no curry seasoning it in at all. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken it had almost no flavor. The curry puffs were not cooked all the way through. Just bad all the way around. I told the manager and he apologized. I went around lunch time the place was almost empty. I guess I should have known then. One of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to! I always want to try something different, but I always end up getting the Tilapia dish (forgot the name, but it has veggies and shrimp on top of it). It is in the top 3 dishes I have eaten, and causes cravings!!! The staff is so friendly, and the atmosphere (even though it's in a strip mall) is quiet and relaxing, except for the loud crunching of the highly addicting shrimp-chip things you get for an appetizer (try them with peanut dipping sauce!). Only one bad thing I can think of......we live moved to a different city (but it's so good, I will travel there just to eat here!!!). I love this place. We found it one day shortly after moving to Conyers. I had already tried one Thai restaurant out near Stonecrest and was disappointed. It was pricey and Americanized in the spicing. This was a complete 180. I tend to order Tofu in most of my Thai food. Their gingered tofu was great. I recommend both the masamun and the Rama King's Curries. The curry puffs are to die for. Any dish they make here can be made with Tofu or chicken or shrimp or beef. One reviewer mentioned his food was bland. Ask them to spice it up, or if you like bland ask them to tone it down! It is family run and they have learned my taste over time, now they just ask if the dish is for me or for my husband. (he likes less spice in his food) Try their curries also. The only thing I have had I am not a fan of how they prepare is the beef Num-Tok and the desserts are so-so. But I do think that is just my taste, not a reflection on the chef's abilities. I've been coming to Baan Thai for years and I pretty much always order the Tilapia Tamarin. It is consistently delicious - spicy and sweet and savoury. The portion size is large. This is one of the best restaurants in Conyers. The unassuming exterior may fool you but inside it is cozy and the wait staff is always nice. I was in town visiting family. We decided to order from this restaurant because we all love Thai and have never had bad Thai food....until this day. I can make better Thai food using an easy bake oven and a Melissa and Doug kitchen set. The food was very bland. I love Thai food and I have my few favorite dishes. I knew what I wanted and was ready to enjoy a nice meal. Their Pad Thai was a little better than Ramen noodles....and that was only because there was fresh broccoli in it. The noodles in the top had very little sauce in them and the noodles in the bottom were clumped together almost like they were old before they sauce was added because none of the sauce got to these noodles. The dish wasn't flavorful. It was the worst pad Thai I had ever tasted. I ordered Tom yum and Tom Kai soup. The Tom yum soup was blaaaaaand! It tasted like spicy dish water. It tasted stale and the only seasoning on it was something spicy. Disgusting. The Tom Kai soup lacked flavor as well. It was a waste of money. It was just like the Tom yum soup...same dish water bland flavor...just with coconut milk added. I doubt that the issue is that they don't have good cooks. I think they just pander to the bland taste buds in the area. There is no way a Thai person can cook food this poorly. I refuse to believe it. I've never had bad Thai. Never! The best part of the meal was those little shrimp crackers. I'm traumatized and don't want to try any other Thai restaurants in the area for fear of the same experience. I can't wait to get home to go to my favorite Thai restaurant. If I had to choose between a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or this, I'd choose the PB&J every time and without hesitation. read more

The service is outstanding, they are always clean, prompt with their service and the food is wonderful. They just recently redid the decor to make it more accurate and authentic feeling. This is my favorite restaurant EVER! I recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Conyers area who likes spicy rice and vegetable dishes. I had never tried Thai food before coming here, and I do not like Chinese food. My husband and I tried this restaurant on a whim and I fell in love with it! The food is affordable and always fresh. If you do not like something or are not satisfied, the service is awesome. They do not stop trying until you are happy. Ever since my first visit, I have returned at least 50 times. I have never received bad service and I have never been unhappy. My favorite meal is the Cashew Chicken dish. During lunch, smaller portions are available which comes with soup, salad, or a spring roll. Their sweet tea is the best I have ever had (even better than my southern grandma's). If I took old left over beef, watered down a can if some coconut cream and heated it in a microwave that's what you would get. Horrible service after advising manager of VERY bland food! I have been coming to this restaurant for over 6 years. I am newly engaged and I decided to invite my fiance here for the first time. To my surprise after recommending this restaurant.... the food was Very Bland! I politely advised the waitress as this has happened before but they provide seasonings other than salt and pepper to remedy this. I should not have to season food at a restaurant but this has happened several times. I must have forgotten this but this was by far the most bland food I have ever eaten here. The waitress stated she could give me coconut cream to stir into my food as everything had a coconut base after I had advised her I added lots of salt and the food was still very watery. The manager returned with warm coconut cream to stir into the food and I politely asked the manager who is very aware of my visits and who I am if there was another cook because the food was very bland. Remember, I asked her politely. She said no its the same cook for all the years that I have been a regular here and she said the cook is her husband. I politely took the coconut cream and stirred it into 3 dishes that were ordered as she walked away. Once this happened the manager of the restaurant did not assist me in anyway to treat me like a paying customer. "If your husband is the cook and the food is off that is not my problem". I am simply warning you because I will not be the only one to visit this restaurant to notice this. When dinner cost $43.00+ and I was just here alone last weekend spending $18.00 for lunch I should have a right to ask what the problem is....especially in a polite manner. Moving along... not only did the manager not remedy the situation she completely avoided us for the rest of our visit. She made the waitresses laugh with whatever she told them and no one visited our table to refill drinks or assist us with anything! The majority of my order was still on the table as I waited for To Go boxes to bring the food home to re-cook it myself with my own seasoning but while waiting for a box, I realized we were being ignored as the waitresses made it their duty to occupy their time with over-achieving at the 2 tables around us and passing us by at the managers request. Once I received the boxes the horrible service did not stop there. I politely paid the bill with no tip and this will be my last time here. My fiance already made up his mind that he would never come here again before the bad service kicked in due to the VERY Bland food. He couldn't tell what all the hype was about. He was shocked I talked up a restaurant with bad bland food and horrible service that cost us a 54 minute drive to Conyers just for this restaurant. We also were not thanked for our visit as we left and this was not because of not leaving a tip this time. They hadn't figured that out yet. I always tip at least 15% and am very polite (Truly). Never again! I will keep my money and this restaurant will lose money...I'm pretty sure I am not the only one or the last one this will/has happened too. read more
