We attempted to redeem a Restaurant.com certificate at Baba'z Grill today. The lady and young girl , who looked to be about nine years old, working there had no idea how to redeem, tried calling the owner (who did not answer) and then refused to honor the certificate. Communicating with them in English was very difficult. We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant and were disappointed they would not honor their promotion. Will not be back :-( In response to the business owner's reply, I will add that I had never heard of his restaurant until I found the promotion advertised on Restaurant.com. I was not 'taking advantage' of anyone. I was attempting to redeem a promotion that the owner is too stupid to understand he signed up for. The one thing I am in total agreement with the owner is his suggestion that everyone go to McDonald's or Jack in the Box because the food at either of those places will be better (probably cleaner and safer too). To whom it may concern, Found this place using restaurant.com. Called to place a pizza order and the man voice on the other end said, what size? I said, I show one price on your site of 15.99. He said, tell me how many people you are feeding and I'll take care of you. And said price was for a medium pizza. Not Large. So I ordered 2 medium pizzas and a salad. I said, it's not about number of people. How much for your pizzas. I should have moved on, but I had a restaurant.com certificate. $25 for $50 dollars of food ordered. The sweetest young women at the register greeted me. 2nd red flag: the menu items that were listed in the paper menu on the counter - in front of me- had lower pricing.   When I questioned the cashier, she said I don't make the pricing it's in the computer.   And then, when I tried to use the certificate provided below it was saying invalid. She called her manager. Finally get a hold of him she handed the phone to me. All I heard was, "you didn't tell me you had a certificate." At that point, I was frustrated and said no thank you as I felt this was a Shiesty business.   In the way home, I received a phone call from the manager stating I quote "fuck you, you are a piece of shit, mother fucker." This was one of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. The place felt dirty and poorly maintained -- not somewhere you feel comfortable eating. Cleanliness clearly isn't a priority here. Dealing with the owner was even more frustrating. I was told one thing and then experienced something completely different. The communication felt misleading and dishonest, and instead of taking responsibility, there were excuses and deflection. It left a really bad impression. Ordered on their website. The order was 50 minutes late. Also incorrect. I paid for three extra toppings on a large pizza, didn't get any of them. To add I ordered a meat lovers pizza and I got a decent cheese pizza. The cook had her daughter helping too. She looked about 9 years old. Late night super fun spot to go to and talk to people and sharing experiences. The people that go there are so diverse and interesting. I find myself realizing that I am in such a small bubble when I hear the life stories of people that go. This place is a fun social gem. Whether under the same ownership or new management, the standards have slipped considerably, and we will no longer be returning. This place has been in my neighborhood since 2018, and I never had a chance to try it in a while, I think it used to be a different pizza place until it got taken over by Baba'z Grill. Located right next to 大三元 777 noodles house, it stays opened until 4 AM every day. If you want to try Middle Eastern style pizza, it is the place, unless you are a regular shawarma or others which they also have on the menu. $18 medium size pizza, I ordered meat lover no cheese and thin crust, came put great, has ground beef, pepperoni and sausage, I was hoping to have chicken on the topping as well, but the size portion was just right, perfect for one person, the thin slides made it decent and not overpowering for my taste, of course without the cheese I enjoyed it even more, plus you get to try to fajitas sauce and the buffalo sauce on your pizza instead of the regular marinara sauce. I guess I missed out on the Mashawi plate, and I am glad I asked, they only have chicken plate right now, and if I wanted something else I need to call ahead. Thank you to Mosab who took care of my order, it was fast, less than 15 minutes, he offered me dine in option since they have tables, but I asked for take out. Also the place accepts EBT, I can't wait to come back to try the Mashawi plate, I obtained the cell phone number of Mosab so I can call in advance. We walked in around 8:20pm and theres no menu up, i asked about prices and they looked at me like crazy. A medium pizza, a chicken alfredo pasta and 2 bottled drinks will run you about 50 bucks. Food took about 45 mins . Help is wanted "with experience " They definitely need it. Only 2 female cooks present, while we were waiting for food, they dropped what they were doing and went ahead to hugging and loving it up with 2 random males that walked into the establishment. Price wise and poor customer service gives this place a 1 star, the other star comes from the food. A chicken fajita pizza had about nothing cups of chicken, a whole lot of mushrooms though. The owner is a bully. He reminds me of a former president of ours. It's obvious, he has a lot of pride, which isn't always a bad thing. But sometimes having too much pride can stop one from understanding others. And when you're in the business of serving people, understanding others is very, very important. It's clear, instead of understanding his customers and addressing their complaints, he'd rather call them liars or other names, insult them and tell them to not return. This type of behavior does not support diverse communities. It rather destroys them with hatred, anger and resentment. Please do not support this business until the owner can demonstrate a willingness to respond to his customers in a calm and respectful manner. I will say this, best burger I've had in San Diego that's halal! I had the crunchy babaz burger and it was splendid! My husband had the Nextgen burger and it was a fantastic chicken burger that you can tell was seasoned perfectly and you can taste it as a whole! The pizza was sadly missing the bbq for our bbq Hawaiian pizza, but it's Sunday and they could be busy! But please the burger is a must have! Wouldn't Grubhub due to the pricing and wait time , but will definitely will be coming in person next time for their burger and will give the pizza another try! read more

I went here and it was not the best. When I looked at the menu burgers were over priced but was halal. Burger are at least $10 for one. The fries are poorly fried and seasoned. The owner was making the food, when I saw he was not even wearing gloves. There is not a lot of seating and now bathroom, I had to use the bathroom from the restaurant nextdoor. We called him to complain and the guy was rude and would not admit even though we sent him pictures of the pizza. He said the toppings were under the cheese but when I checked there was none. The first time my family and I visited him a few years ago he served us good food that time but when we were paying he tried to charge us extra and we called him out on it.
