My husband and I have visited twice within a week. We ordered the 2 HC combo and shared it. We both felt it was the perfect amount for us and the price was such a good deal. The second time we came we got our daughter the chicken tenders and she loved the sauce and cold slaw that came with it. Came here with my son and nephew, and we absolutely loved it! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted at the entrance. Mercedes, the young lady at the register, was incredibly sweet, helpful, and patient while helping us choose something for everyone. Offering Smash burgers, tenders, chicken sandwiches, and NY style pizzas. Just wished they had wings. There were 4 pizzas by the slice on this particular day. We got the Buffalo chicken which tastes like Buffalo wings and mafia boss was my favorite with the hot honey drizzle. You get the saltiness with a bit of sweetness. I heard about Hot Chickz opening recently and I'm a fan of hot chicken but unfortunately I cannot recommend. The toast and fries on the side were too much like what you could buy frozen and the chicken was dry and didn't have much flavor. The girl who helped us as the register was really nice and it seems that they are always welcoming to customers. Chicken was inedible. This place used to have poor service but at least decent hot chicken. Word was it sold and re-branded, adding smash burgers and pizza. There's just too much on the menu now; stick with simple items and make them great. They changed the chicken breading recipe, with the chicken being rubbery, old, slightly burnt, and felt like it was under a heat lamp for 3 days. *Look at my attached picture* The signature chicken sauce was good and appeared to be the same as before they re-branded. I ordered the pizza, the chicken sandwich, and the loaded fries. My favorite thing was the buffalo chicken pizza. It was so good, and a good template. The next thing I enjoyed was the honey hot chicken sandwich, it comes with slaw on it but I got it in the side. The chicken sandwich definitely has a kick to it. So glad they have come back better than ever!! The food was delicious and tasted exactly the same. With new owners they really stepped up their menu by adding pizza. The workers were nice and told us about the new owners and everything new to the menu. They redecorated the inside for a more modern look with black and red. HOT CHICKZ @ MISSION VALLEY Parking is available right out front, and there's plenty of it. The place is located in a plaza, so there are multiple restaurants and businesses nearby, which means it can get busy at times. However, we went on a weekday around 6 PM and it wasn't busy at all. When we walked in, there were two staff members, and they were super nice and welcoming, asking if we had any questions. We ended up ordering a couple of items, including the loaded mac & cheese and some chicken sliders. It came out to about $20 each, so it's definitely on the pricier side for an entrée. That said, the food came out within about 10 minutes and the portion sizes were insane. It was so much food that it honestly could've fed two or three people. My friend and I didn't even touch the chicken sliders because we underestimated how big the loaded fries were, and wow, they were massive. Everything was super fresh and definitely worth the price. The staff stayed friendly throughout, and they had a soda machine available, though we just grabbed some water. The tables were really clean, and there were only a couple of other people dining at the same time as us. Overall, the ambiance was clean, nice, and pretty spacious. Decided to try this place because I was in the area. I walk in and it's dead empty.
