We went here for lunch. Great variety on their menu. One of us got one of the lunch specials a pasta dish with salad. Chicken lemon was light and tasty along with the Mista salad. I got the "Build a bowel". Brown rice and red quinoa with the roasted Brussels sprouts, red beets, chicken and goat cheese mixed in. The waitress "Lori" was very attentive and helped make sure the chef knew about my Celiac disease NO gluten. She said they took extra precautions for me. Food was tasty and nice portions. This place has really gone downhill the last couple of years. It used to be decent, but not anymore. We were there this last weekend, giving it yet another shot after an underwhelming experience the last time we were there. We waited nearly 10 minutes just to be acknowledged--despite there only being about six people in the restaurant during lunchtime. Honestly, we would've left if someone in our group hadn't needed to use the restroom while we waited. Our server was very sweet, but things didn't improve much from there. It took over 20 minutes to get our salads, and after 15 minutes we were told one of them couldn't even be made because they were out of most of the ingredients. The steak salad we did receive was incredibly disappointing--the meat was thinner and lower quality than the kind you find in the frozen food aisle at a grocery store. Given the prices, the food was underwhelming at best. We won't be back. We visited your 67th Ave & 101 location (20211 N. 67th Ave) last night 6/17. We walked in at 5:50 and asked for a table or booth for a party of 4. The "hostess" stated there was a 10 to 15 minutes wait. I did not catch the name of the "hostess" but I am sure you would know who was on duty then. We were surprised because the restaurant was practically empty. There were 2 booths and 3 tables occupied. The remainder of the restaurant set empty with tables and booths ready with setups to accommodate customers. The table in the center had a family of 5 seated and included an infant in a high chair on one end. So we patiently waited as other customers were coming in and were also asked to wait in your entrance lobby. And we waited.... [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally the family of 5 seated in the center left and the "hostess" began to slowly clean the table. At 6:10 the "hostess" said she would seat us. We were seated at the table that she had just cleaned and where the family with the infant was seated. I immediately noticed that I was stepping on food dropping where the high chair was. Looking under the table on the floor there was a fork, 2 wrapped straws and food remains from the last customer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I made the "hostess" aware of it and her response was "I can take care of that". She never did and I did not push the issue. This was a totally unsanitary condition that could create a health or accident issue not to mention that the Health Department would frown upon that. But the night was not over. A waitress finally acknowledged us and we ordered drinks. Pinot Grigio, Marker Mark and Sangria. And we waited....The waitress returned and said they were out of Pinot Grigio and Sangria. We chose the White Zinfandel and ordered our food. And we waited....Food arrived 20 minutes later but no drinks were served. We made the waitress aware of it. "Oh yes, she said I will get your drinks right away". A horrible experience due to poor staffing and/or management. However, your immediate attention needs to be drawn to this location especially since you are expanding. read more

I have not been to this location, but I love their food from my other visits in other locations. You can expect a standard. We got here since our reservations at another place that we made a reservation did not seat over for over 30 mins past our reservation time. We waited 15 mins for a table but getting to the hostess stand was a different story. We waited behind a couple that is waiting to put their name down. A man walks in and pushes he way to the front and get his name on the list before others (SMH), but the hostess took his name! The waiter was great but he is so busy. And bread took forever to get to us (came after our appetizer). But the Dreamsicle calmed me down, it was yummy! We got the Baked Meatballs & Mozzarella for our appetizer. Ordered Babbo online and was told our food would be ready in 25 minutes. When I got to the restaurant after 25 minutes they couldn't find my order. They found our order still sitting on the printer and the order hadn't even been put into their system yet and they hadn't even started making it yet. With the popularity of online ordering, I would think they would have an automated system for entering orders. So here I wait for my food to be made. Ok. Got home and my pizza was the worst pizza I've ever had. I had one slice and threw the rest away. Overall the rest of our food was very average. read more

Babbo Italian Eatery is one of North Peoria's favorite Italian spots so we went to check it out. You walk in and instantly smell fresh bread which they do serve with olive oil and vinegar right when you sit down, which is such a nice treat. We went in for a few big bowls of pasta - the Chipotle Chicken and the White Buffalo, but couldn't pass on dessert, too. Their Italian donut is a fried dough ball tossed with cinnamon & sugar, topped with ice cream & whipped cream! The personal size was perfect for both of us to split, but they also offer a family size which would be great for a family of 4 and larger! The restaurant's lighting are fairly dark making it seem a little more fancy and their bar is front in center. We have always been able to sit down fairly quickly even though it's usually pretty packed when we've gone for both lunch and dinner. read more

I just had a super bizarre experience at Babbo tonight. I placed a takeout order and waited at the bar for my order to be ready. As I was waiting I could see the kitchen from my seat and there was something seriously wrong with the Chef. He was throwing around this nasty towel the whole time he was cooking. He was throwing the food around, pasta falling on the floor, just super unprofessional. He had to have been on something because it was not normal behavior. At one point he was yelling at the bartender lady. He threw pots and pans around. Literally threw my food together - I watched it. It was so unpleasing to watch before eating my food. Take some pride in what you do and act more professional, people can see directly in the kitchen. read more

I went to Babbo's last night for dinner with my family for the first time. The wait was long but we sat at the outside tables until our table was ready. Once we got to our table it was small for 4 and a baby. After a while our server took our drink order. We got some complimentary bread with oil and vinegar but we did not have utensils or napkins so it was quite difficult to eat and not get messy. The bread was delicious. After awhile our server came back to put in our food order. I got the new cheese wheel pasta and it was tasty! They ask how cheesy you would like it so I got mine extra cheesy! I loved the meat in it but next time I would say medium cheese. My mom got the ravioli with short ribs and mushrooms, which our server recommended. The plate had a pretty presentation but it was cold and over salted. My sister got the creamy garlic chicken pasta and she liked it a lot but said she would order what I got next time instead. Her fiancé got the white buffalo pasta which was definitely unique. He said the Alfredo sauce was tasty but the buffalo was over powering. Overall, our experience was okay. We felt this way because our drinks were always empty and we felt like our server did not pay attention to our table. My sister spilt water and we never got the napkins we asked for so we just used the straw wrappers to try to clean it up. We also had to request for silverware to eat with once we got our entrees. I believe our server, Nick, was having a very off night but because of this it made our first experience not the best. Was utterly let down by my visit to this Babbo's location (67th Ave). Ordered an Old Fashioned because the one I'd had at 16th St/Glendale was AMAZING (check my review). Well, I should've made the drive back! Server/bartender was nice enough but the drink she brought me was NOT an Old Fashioned by any standard! Looked like Hawaiian Punch over crushed ice. REALLY. I questioned the color and she said, "We're supposed to muddle the cherries." W-T-Fork! I could taste the bourbon so I just drank it. MEH. My much anticipated app had to be sent back after a few bites bcuz they failed to put the RAISINS and ALMONDS in the dish! Server/wannabe bartender brought another order without so much as an apology for the inconvenience. I should have asked to see a manager but I didn't. I'm an idiot. Never again. read more

OMG this use to be a great busy, local restaurant been coming here for over 20 years, at best now GROSS! Bring Kim back! Place was 1/2 empty 7:00 on a Saturday night! Sat at the dirty bar next to no less than 60 empty glasses for over 2 hours (picture attached) My wife had to ask for the area next to us to be cleaned, the glasses remained. Staff was busy watching TV. Then final insult bill came with a "service" charge. I was already upset with the LACK of service so I asked manager for an explanation? She said "ya we get a lot of questions about that, it's to pay for our staff and it's not coming off!" (picture attached). Only then did she attempt to clean the dirty glasses off of the bar. Our mistake of picking this place for An anniversary dinner. Waitress was not engaged and messed up the order serving the wrong dish. Husband was brought his food while I got to watch him eat for 15 minutes. My food was sloppily put together due to the rush and way too salt. Surprised due ordering the same dish numerous times before. Disappointed. Little effort can go a long way which they failed. read more

The pasta was good as per my wife, however, I am not a fan of red pasta's and so I didn't like much. The package came well prepared with all condiments. The bread was a little too hard for me. Not the best Italian restaurant but can be tried once at least. Other items might be good on it that we are yet to try. Prices are reasonable and I am amused by the variety in the menu. read more

We initially tried their meal kit take out and unfortunately something was lost in the translation with the food being over cooked and cold despite only living only several miles away. This why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. We went for a family gathering and despite some issues with a reservation and seating, we were good as gold. I had the garlic chicken with gluten free pasta which was tasty and plentiful. Their salads are incredible especially the beet salad and misto. Savannah was our waitstaff and was attentive and efficient. read more

We showed up on a rainy Saturday afternoon which, us who live here know is a rare Phoenix day. We chose a seat at the bar and were quickly greeted. We ordered drinks and Firecracker Rolls off the small plate menu, Italian and Steak. They are really good. For entrees, my beautiful wife ordered the Stuffed Portobello from the appetizer menu and I ordered a lunch special that was a small wedge salad and a bowl of Creamy Mushroom and Asparagus over Penne Pasta. Everything was delicious. We never wanted for anything during our visit and left with plenty for later. A definite return in our list of places. read more

We used go here often honestly after the take out we got last weekend not sure we will be back. I found it odd that on a Saturday at 5:30 the place was half empty when we ate our food we now know why...a party was walking in when I was leaving and asked to sit on the patio were told no you can only sit in the dining room...they left as I would have we live in AZ this is patio season and if you have on you should allow people to use it. read more

Babbo's is my neighborhood go-to Italian restaurant but my most recent visit was a real disappointment. The server never told us his name and seemed indifferent about service. The dinner menu no longer offers Pasta Puglia, a signature dish. The side salad lettuce had brown leaves; the marinara sauce in the spicy Italian sausage dish was overly sweet; and the menu has gone totally a-la-carte. I will give Babbo's another try, but hope the experience is better. read more

I have always loved the food at Babbo, the amazing service and the wonderful specials they have for the holidays. They just had an amazing special that I saw on Instagram and commented that I would love it, but was allergic to one of the cheeses in it (it was a half pan of mac and cheese). They actually wrote back and said they could substitute it! Awesome! I went and picked up my meal for Thanksgiving and noticed that it may have the cheese I am allergic to, so I wrote to them on Instagram. Sadly, it was the cheese I can't eat. Without me even asking, they immediately made the situation right! They made not one, but two new pans and brought them to my house!!! Thank you so much! I took my mechanic friend there to celebrate and thank him for his help after i bought a car in Phx. Unfortunately I left this experience feeling terrible. I wrote the details to general manager Amy the next day in an email but no response. Here is my letter: Dear Amy, I wanted to provide some feedback about a dining experience my friend and I had at your Peoria restaurant last night at 530 pm. We were visiting from Sedona and stopped in for a meal on our drive back home. When we arrived, unfortunately the hostess did not greet us or make us feel particularly welcome. We asked for a booth but she seemed inconvenienced and even irritated by the request. In hindsight, these were red flags that this may not be the best dining experience. However, since we were quite hungry and tired from our day, we decided to stay. My friend ordered a chicken fettuccine alfredo and I ordered a pizza without cheese. The pasta dish was good and very large but when the pizza arrived, it unfortunately had cheese despite my request for no cheese. The staff apologized, but it took quite a while to bring out a new cheese-less pizza.I spent the time i needed to be eating looking at my friend eating and watching the sky grow darker for our long ride back. When it did arrive, it was lacking in toppings and tasted underwhelming, almost like I was being punished for not wanting the cheese pizza. Throughout the dinner, we were served by a handful of different staff members, leading to some confusion. At the end of the meal, we were brought the check without a pen to sign it. Given these issues, the $48 bill felt very steep for the experience. I share this feedback because I know your restaurant is capable of providing excellent food and service. We were optimistic when we walked in given your reputation, but ultimately left very dissatisfied. read more

Quite possibly the worst pasta I've ever had in my life. It's like chilis but Italian. I was thrown off by the complimentary breads with shallots on it. But I thought it'd get better. I got the creamy garlic chicken yesterday and I couldn't finish the plate. A few hours later I threw up throughout the day. I ended up having food poisoning, it was so bad I couldn't do anything at all (body pain, nausea, vomiting, headaches, can't sleep from the pain). I don't know if the chefs hand was impure or there was cross contamination but there's a reason why I've never heard of this restaurant and had a friend take me here. We typically use Babbo in Surprise and are always happy with our food and service. We happened to be in Glendale and I will say, our service was terrible. First our server commented that we were only 4 people at a large booth they typically reserved for large parties of 6 or 7. Luckily there was only 4 of us or we would have never eaten. We waited an hour for our food which was almost as long as it took to get a cup of ice for our "iced" tea with lemon(no lemon). My sister ordered a salad and it never showed up. Once the check was due our server said she had to "fix" our check but never acknowledged the fact that she didn't bring our salad. Lastly, the chicken Parmesan was one piece of chicken the size of a chicken tender and some spaghetti for 21.00. Pretty chintzy. Empty drinks, no communication about why our food was late, no offer of a discount or a dessert. Why is this practice acceptable now? Used to be when service was poor a manager would stop by or something. Just disappointing to spend that much money for a terrible evening. read more

We ordered in from Babbo on a Saturday afternoon will visiting from out of town. The food arrived promptly (credit partially to door dash) and was still very warm. We started with pesto bread and garlic bread which were both excellent. The bread was fresh and toasted to perfection. The pesto was well balanced and delicious. Each of us ordered pasta, which were all very good. One of us got the creamy lemon ricotta which was creamy and very good. Another one got the creamy mushroom and asparagus which was also very good with the asparagus properly cooked. I got the lemon garlic spaghetti since I wanted something lighter, and it was fantastic! It was very well balanced and the shaved Parmesan was a great touch to balance out the acidity of the lemon. Overall, we would definitely order from Babbo again. read more

We have been stopping by every few weeks to have lunch and have for the most part been happy with service and food quality. Unfortunately on our last visit neither meet our expectations. The service was slow misc request were forgot by server which I if I come back will not sit in her area and the food quality was not as good as on any previous visit. To be specific the Bread was not the same. It did not have the folded application, it was missing the onions and other seasoning and it was oily on the bottom. So poor service and some food quality not up to par. We will go back to the location in Surprise next time and if I have a problem there we will just find a new lunch date location. Just very disappointed. I used to eat at the 16th location on a regular basis however since my work location changed the Glendale was my closest location. read more

I don't know why they are having so much trouble here but the service has gone way down hill. We waited a long time for our dinner and the server never came by to say what was wrong We finally got there attention and they said they would bring a bread service they said theyl would bring a present, but then the food came and they never brought the bread service after I finished the meal asked for the bread service. It just seemed to fall apart. I don't think I could come back here. read more

We just ate at Babbo for the first time tonight, Wow was it Fantastic!! The service was superior, Stephani was are waitress and she was phenomenal!! Attention to detail, welcoming, courteous and so attentive. She brought us fresh bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil to dip it in, all before we even ordered. Yum!! We ordered the Pasta Francaise and the Creamy Pesto Pasta. Both outstanding. We were to full to have desert there so we ordered Tiramisu to take home for a late night post Birthday treat!! We will definitely be back and we really could not be more impressed!! read more
