This cute locally owned little coffee stand feels a little out of place located by the entrance of our run of the mill neighborhood ideal supermarket, but I very much welcome an additional place to get a latte and breakfast pastry. Their pastry case empties out fast daily, but if you get there early enough, you can pick from a selection of baked goods like cheese danishes, almond croissants, scones, and muffins. They have all the classic espresso based drinks and drip coffee. I got my caffeine fix with a dirty chai, which was made quite well. They have grab and go croissant sandwiches you can pick up for a heftier meal and pair it with any one of their fresh juices or sparkling waters they carry in their fridge. The folks behind the counter are extra friendly and have a fun playlist of punk rock from the early aughts, which speaks to my millennial heart. Hope the steady flow of foot traffic from the supermarket helps keep them afloat.

Super small Little coffee counter inside the grocery store. Visited few times and I am excited to come back! They know how to make decent latte and nice espresso drinks. Worth it if you want your morning coffee! Good coffee that doesn't cost an arm and leg.

How can anyone not love this place? The owner and the baristas are very sweet and I love that they stock so many different flavors of syrup. One time I had a triple sec and ginger cold brew that brightened my whole day, it was incredible. Although they're usually not open beyond 4-ish pm, they are a really convenient coffee spot to pop into during a morning walk. They even have a take-out window next to the bus stop that you can use if you aren't able to go inside. This place is very cute, has great coffee (and brownies), and I'm proud to be a loyal customer.

This is a really convenient coffee shop in the Flatbush area. It's inside the Ideal Supermarket, you'll see it on your left side as you walk in. Although, I've been twice and only purchased once, I can tell you the baristas are really sweet and friendly. There's not many baked good options if you're vegan, but they do use Chobani oat milk! I didn't try any of the drinks but I did have the Cranberry Muffin, which was perfectly tart yet sweet and soft. I will come back for sure as I'm in the area often and would like to try more of the menu.

I love that Babe & Al is conveniently located in my local grocery store. I couldn't help but resist those mouth watering Donut Plant donuts, so I grabbed one on my way out! They staff are very welcoming and they offer a lot of pasty and drink options. Definitely will be back again!

There is some counter space, but mainly for standing purposes. I ordered a standard Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($7.35) and my friend got her usual Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). Docking 1/2 point bc the matcha is pre-made. I'm a fan of the whisking process bc I do believe there's a craft to matcha overall. Surprisingly, my drink tasted fine and my bev was a good color, so I was pleasantly happy. We waited less than 10 min for a table to open up, but you have to be there at the right time, otherwise you prob just grab your drink + go. Overall, glad I tried Kijitora. It's not my first matcha choice, but it was decent for a standard matcha latte. Their specialty matcha drinks look to have mixed reviews, but I'm personally not a fan of sweet drinks.

The azuki matcha was a dud. It was missing the earthiness and sweetness of the azuki bean. Instead, it just tasted like chunky matcha. The black sesame latte was sweeter than expected. It was still pretty good, but I just feel like I would've gotten sick had I finished the whole thing. I would probably just try the strawberry matcha latte next time.

This is a really cute café that has gorgeous leather furniture, lighting fixtures, and cool plants everywhere, very modern looking. The music they play here is great too. I was a little disappointed to see that their food menu was quite limited, and by that time of day, there was really only one savory option that stood out to me, the Parmesan and leek pastry. I ordered this and had the barista heated up for me, as well as print out a receipt because this is how you access the Wi-Fi. I sat in the corner along the wall on a wooden bench and attempted to do work on one of the small metal tables. The tables are quite low, so this really isn't a great place to get a ton of work done in my opinion, as well as the fact that the Wi-Fi only works for 30 minutes and after that, you need to go back up and get another receipt for a code. I was also a little disappointed in the pastry itself, as it wasn't fully heated and was a little too greasy for me. I can't speak on the coffee here, but it did look like they provide high-quality options. Vibes and aesthetic are high but I can't say I'd come here again.

With a focus on community and comfort, we provide a haven for locals and visitors alike to relax, recharge' As my curiosity leads me to explore new coffee places, the one common thread I see is the focus on community. The cafes, coffee bars and eateries who recognize the need to connect are the real entrepreneurs. Polly's Cafe patrons are sipping coffee drinks made with La Colombe and devouring Balthazar pastries. As I waited to order my cold brew, the conversations ran the gamut from school, work, summer travel plans, catching up. I know I sound like a broken record, but today it is so much more than just grabbing a cup of coffee. It is unwinding, savoring each sip and bite with a friend or partner and just enjoying the connection. Polly's Cafe reminds me of a cafe one would find in the Hudson Valley: small, quaint and offering high end food. The interior is cozy, a few tables and a backyard garden. The menu packs a small punch: hot/cold beverages, breakfast burritos, BLT, salads and so much more. I waited around 10 minutes to order a cold brew, the pastries (croissants: chocolate, everything, goat cheese and herb, ham and cheese, butter, sticky toffee banana bread, chocolate babka crumb cake, brownies)were sold out and only olive oil cake remained. ( I arrived @2pm) I made a mental note to revisit to pack a few goodies to go for a future BBG visit. The breakfast burrito is really yummy and comes with a salsa that isn't spicy but adds the perfect flavor to the chorizo and potatoes. Yummy! I've also tried the avocado breakfast sandwich and it was tasty. And the backyard is quiet, great for work, but not so quiet that we felt bad about chatting and catching up. A real gem in the neighborhood.

The Espresso Shot 1 was unexpectedly sour like the kind of sour you expect from expired coffee. There are special notes including rhubarb, so maybe that was on us to order this shot, but we didn't expect a beef jerky-like aftertaste. My friend could not finish it, so I asked for a replacement shot--the Expresso Shot 2--and the staff were kind enough to offer it to us free of charge. This shot was also just as sour, with notes of passion fruit. There are no other espresso shot options, and both shots are $5-6 each. The Chai Latte tasted just like the concentrates I would get from supermarkets. When I finished my cup and peered at the bottom for any spice residue, I found the grainy texture you'd find in said supermarket concentrates. Service: 4/5 The people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. For a busy coffee shop, they were prompt in fulfilling any special request, such as an expresso shot replacement. Atmosphere: 2/5 This is a cute coffee shop with a warm interior! It has a modern and cozy aesthetic, and it was very pleasant to sit here for half an hour. We were fortunate to even have seating, though, because there was a line out the door and not enough tables for all patrons. The tables were low to the ground and close to other tables. I would recommend this place to people who need a quick shelter from the cold. I wouldn't recommend the drinks to anyone, and the line is not worth it.
