So I stopped in for a lobster roll after seeing all the reviews and pictures but I didn't know that was a summertime thing only. Since j already made the trip I figured might as well get something. So I ordered a two scoop ice cream. Churrio, strawberry cheesecake with brownie toppings. I was expecting plain ice cream but the flavor of each was so overpowering in a good way I'm not sure how they did it! With every bite I tried to figure it out until finally I stopped and just enjoyed!!

Fun vibe inside and friendly staff, the lobster roll was fantastic! Big lobster chunks a bit of lettuce and mayo and a very crunchy proper New England roll my husband had the Edna sandwich and it was very good as well.

I love love love babe's weekly sundaes! I've tried a handful of their weekly sundaes and I have to say my favorite was the lemon blueberry with crumbles of lemon cake. High quality ingredients that you can truly taste. Would def go out of my way to eat here. Service isn't really excellent from the owners but hey they concoct some pretty delicious sundaes. I've tried their subs and not the biggest fan of their bread. Regardless come for the sundaes!!

One of the best sandwiches (hoagie) I've had in years. So glad we were able to stop by for the first time today. We got a whole Edna, which was huge for two people, and a small shrimp chowder (amazing!) You need to get the fox family chips, I wish I knew where to get them in a bigger bag. Will definitely be in again!

I went on a date with Edna tonight. I went full, adding bacon and Muenster because if food doesn't have bacon and Muenster on it, I won't eat it. Let me tell you, Folks, my taste buds were blown away. I could only eat 60% of it before I was stuffed silly, and each bite was better than the last. The bread was fresh, light, and delishy. There was a good amount of mayo, and I require a lot of mayo. And, the other ingredients tasted fresh. I ordered online, and the food was ready when they said it would be ready. Go get yourself a Babe! I'll be back.

Cute little spot in Lansing. Indoor and outdoor seating. Customer service was great and the sandwiches we had were delicious. Bread was fresh and fluffy, meats and cheeses were really good and even the tomatoes were amazing. Quality. Can't wait to come back and eat here again and try the soft serve.

Second visit in two days! Perfect for a mixed crowd of vegan and non-vegan meal seekers. Always a crowd pleaser. The half hoagies are enough for a full meal! Highly recommend

The vegan Edith and a special strawberry cheesecake Sunday (also vegan).

First off, they kept stringing the driver along on when the food was going to be ready, and by the time it got out, it was all cold because of how long it was out. But it still got here, we were going to have a late dinner, but... instead of one of the sandwiches and the fried pickles, we got, instead... a note. "We're out of the Cuban. Please call blahblahblah. Sorry." My roommate has to be up in six hours for work, and you can't even just message the driver to have them tell us to pick something else or something? My roommate had to sacrifice her own dinner so the other could eat and I'm here scrambling to find her something hot and still open for delivery. Management was zero help- they immediately tried to chuck the Grubhub driver under the bus as "it's hard to get in contact with people who order about stuff like this and oftentimes the drivers end up dropping the orders because of it". You didn't even try, guys. You could have saved this with a text message or a phone call and you couldn't even do THAT. My roommate can't eat a "sorry" note, guys. After some talking, management authorized a full refund, which I suppose is the least they can do about this, and Grubhub also refunded the price of the sandwich and a five-dollar voucher for all the trouble. Do NOT order from this place. Save your time, your money, and your sanity. Go somewhere, anywhere else.

For me, it's far and away a bite of an olive burger. That combination of charbroiled burger and olive sauce does it for me every time. This month I was elated we got to review one of the originators. Weston's Kewpee Burger is a Lansing institution. There's little disputing that. Situated downtown on Washington Square and using a recipe for olive sauce that is older than 95 years, the restaurant is nostalgic in all the right ways. The décor is unapologetic in referencing their history and with good reason. Serving comfort food with quality service to downtown's current movers and shakers and former residents who have returned and want an instant reminder of home is something they should be proud of. In pre-pandemic times, it wasn't unusual for a line out the door during the lunch time rush. During the pandemic, Weston's ownership was among the most compassionate with their staff and worked hard to keep the business open even as much of their traditional foot traffic has yet to return. However, you can tell the folks that work here enjoy not just one another but making great food for their customers. Essential During my visits to Weston's this month, I cheerfully tried the Kolossal Olive Burger. Appropriately named as this sandwich is massive, the burger perfectly cooked, and topped with a heaping serving of olive sauce (Chopped, not minced) just the way I like it. There are several local establishments that offer an olive burger and even a few national chains that attempt to offer local flavor. Few of them compared to this tried-and-true version. As I stood in line, there were two gentlemen from south of Jackson who were in town exploring the Capital City. They both ordered olive burgers and as I walked out, I asked them how it was. "It doesn't matter much what else we find today; this burger was worth the drive." Indeed. Comfort Classics My culinary comrades and I sampled several other items off the menu. The Turkey Burger was juicy, surprisingly flavorful, and delightfully crispy- which is atypical of most turkey burgers. The onion rings were solid, but not as good as the sweet potato fries or the regular French fries. Both are seasoned brilliantly- brown sugar on the sweet potato and a light dusting of Greek seasoning on the regular. The chili was hearty and balanced- not too many beans or tomatoes or not enough meat and welcomed on a chilly January afternoon. The restaurant also offers several traditional daily specials- meatloaf and mashed potatoes, bean and ham soup, pot roast, tuna pasta salad, or mac & cheese, all depending on the day. I was fortunate to be in on a day that the goulash was available. Packed with herbs, tomatoes, and ground beef, huddled up with macaroni spirals and served with garlic Texas toast, it was an absolute hit and I had to arm wrestle others in my house for the leftovers. Award Winning The Weston Kewpee Burger team were recently awarded the judges award for their olive burger at a competition on South Beach, Miami. In honor of that recognition, the restaurant now offers a Miami burger- a crumbled burger with a cheesy olive sauce. This olive burger 2.0 is my new favorite in town. It differs from the traditional olive burger in yummy, savory ways. The brininess of the olive sauce somehow works even better in this iteration and the crunchy, flavorful crumbles are a wonderful twist. The best innovations are rooted in tradition.
