This place is my absolute all time favorite spot in East Lansing, very laid back, beautiful and clean. The workers are always friendly and you can tell they really care about your experience here. One of the cheaper options in East Lansing, especially for being right down town, the food is to die for even without considering the price. The portions are perfect and everything on the menu is so worth it. I cannot believe I don't see more people in here, especially give the ambiance and pricing. Can't wait to see all this place does! Went for breakfast 2x. The sandwiches are tasty and fresh. The service each time was a but shaky for different issues. I think the staff needs some good training to manage the kitchen and tables. One time got 2/3 sandwiches wrong and then when there was only a few people it took forever to take our order. Good food if you like breakfast sandwiches but staff need some work. This visit was our (my niece and me) first visit to Angela's. We were promptly greeted and seated. From this point, the service deteriorated. We waited several minutes for our server to return to take our order. Then we waited over 30 minutes, without updates, to receive our food. During the wait, I approached our server twice for an update. When we finally did receive our food it was delicious. During checkout, I paid with cash to avoid the credit card processing fee. It's a new place that needs to work out the kinks in my humble opinion. Place is neat and clean with a reasonably sized eating area. As for the service I'm not sure what to think. One person took our drink order, another who looked a bit zoned out took our order and another gave us our food. Consequently, the order came out wrong and incomplete. One of our party ordered the matcha drink and said it tasted like green bean water. Zoned out waiter came over and said he forgot to put the sweetner in. I ordered the breakfast skillet with an extra egg, asked for them to be over easy and got the eggs scrambled (ugh, not my favorite) but I was loathe to send it back because I didn't want the eggs thrown away (I abhor waste). My skillet also didn't include the advertised tomatoes and was greasy in my opinion. The good news was it was a big serving so someone else would see that as a plus. The bacon sandwich ordered looked really good but came with nothing else but the sandwich and it would have been nice with a small serving of fruit but bacon was plentiful. The bacon scrambled dish ordered was well enjoyed. We ordered the crepe with fruit and sausage for the table and got French Toast with no sausage instead. Brought it to waitresses attention and was given the crepes and sausage. Crepes weren't the best and were more reminiscent of thin pancakes than the crepes I've had in the past. Question of the day is why is there no condiments on the table? I usually like to pepper my eggs. You pay at the counter but no one told us so we waited to leave a bit longer than we needed to. Overall, half of us would go back while the other half would not. read more

Run, don't walk, to Angela's Mediterranean restaurant that just opened (where Aloha cooking was). Of course, I forgot to take "before" pix, but my friend and I shared the beef byrek to start and shared the chocolate cake to finish -- both were beyond delicious! I had the roasted veggie baguette w the lemon rice soup which were also amazing. My friend had the bacon scramble and he cleared his plate! The service was perfect which, given they opened yesterday, is impressive. Can't wait to return and try more! read more

Okay I'm a sucker for places like this! First off you can't beat a place that's family owed, operated and where it seems they actually love doing what they do. The son was working the front counter and when we asked about the Byreks he explained his mother makes them herself. So of course we had to try them. We got the cheese it was good definitely would try the other options next time. We got the Ham Breakfast Sandwich... it was delicious like god dam it was good the pesto and arugula just took it to the next lvl! We also tried their Breakfast Baguette. For me it was nostalgic. Nothing beats a cup of coffee with some toasted bread cheese and jam. Overall this place rocked! Angela's should 100% be on your list of places to eat while in Lansing. For the last few months, I have had the pleasure of going down to Angela's Cafe, a new restaurant in East Lansing directly across from the Marriott hotel on Albert Street, right where the Michigan Flyer buses pull up. Angela's is a lovely little cafe with great homemade Greek pastries and sandwiches. I've ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with a side of beet salad so many times. And the prices are quite reasonable. The food is delicious. These days it means a lot to have good food prepared from scratch. read more

My husband and I had lunch here during the East Lansing Art Festival. The decor and ambiance are very modern and beautifully done. The food was so good! I had the turkey sandwich with fries and my husband had the cheeseburger and fries. We didn't try the desserts, but they all looked really good too. The staff were friendly, but the wait for our food was longer than we anticipated. I think their system could use some work. It would be helpful if they had numbers you could take to the table, so they know whose order is whose. Before we left we used their bathrooms and they were clean, smelled great, and even had high quality toilet paper. That seems like a silly thing to mention, but it's hard to find nice public bathrooms these days! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more
