Excellent experience at the People's Kitchen. Out party of 4 came in on a Saturday night in August with no reservation and were sat immediately. Service was attentive, but did take a little bit of time to be served. However, when the food arrived it was so worth it. One of my favorite burgers I've ever had. The smash potato side was such a fun twist on fries. You could tell the service took time because of the chefs craftsmanship and attention to detail. Incredible experience overall and we will be coming back.

Incredible brunch spot- I wanted to try all the dishes because they sounded so good! The only reason I took off one star was because it was so loud inside with the music and people's voices echoing off the walls with not much to absorb the sound. I was able to have a conversation with my friend, but definitely had to talk a little louder than normal. Service was great and attentive, cold brew was nice and strong. Yukon potatoes were perfectly crispy and salty- such a delight to eat! Also my first time trying bacon jam which was 10/10. Everything was so fresh and prepared correctly.

We just stopped in around 3:15p for a happy hour beverage. And I opted for a very tasty arugula salad with pear slices, pecans and goat cheese. Got a kick out of the eclectic decor. Peewee Herman, powder puff girls, etc. Their taps could use a bit of work. Bartender had to pour off quite a bit of foam and said they all have issues. Note: restrooms are downstairs. Not accessible.

I went with my daughter. Baked cheese, croquettes, mushroom pasta, broccoli with hummus. They were little salty so matched with black beer. Outside patio was great.

A must go location for brunch. The food obviously is spectacular and the staff are amazing as well.

I went here with my boyfriend and was not disappointed. Really fun, artistic ambiance (I wish I had more pics!), the servers were super attentive and friendly, and THE FOOD... I got the chicken and waffles, which had orange-jalapeño syrup and ginger-maple butter. The chicken was so crispy and moist, and the waffles weren't too heavy. Their cold brew was also really good. My boyfriend got the fish tacos, and some sort of cherry soda. I can't remember exactly, but it was good. The tacos were yummy! The fish was crispy, the sauce was great... it was slightly too fishy tasting for me, but I'm picky abt that sort of thing. He liked them tho. 10/10, I have already recommended to others.

Great atmosphere, great decor, great food. I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't busy so we were in and out in a timely manner. My food was so good, I cleared my plate. I had the chicken and grits and Omgosh, it was amazing! The grits were smooth and creamy with a little bit of texture, but you can tell these are the real deal grits, not that Quaker in box grits. The presentation is beautiful. The cheese and tomato sauce with the pickled onion were not a combination I would expect on grits. It took me by surprise but I loved every aspect of it. My mom loved her chicken and waffles. I have to come back and try that. Their mocktails were good but you have to give them a good stir before you slurp it down. Only downside is the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible; it's in the back and downstairs. They have a patio but that was full so we sat inside. I can't wait to come back and try something else.

Ok, I'll start this out by saying I was here for brunch and have not been for any other meal yet, so this is for you earlyriser brunch lovers like me. We were looking for a breakfast place and heard about the brunch at People's. Our friends said to get there early if you can because it's busy- and it was. The wait wasn't terrible, but there was a wait. Not sure if they do reservations for a larger party, but we were 3. The decor and ambiance is fun, fresh, and colorful. Makes you want to be there. The menu for brunch had a great variety and we tried to order a bit of everything to try. They make fresh whipped cream with different flavors, don't skip this on your coffee, it was sinful and decadent. The Mocktail was a delicious. The food was fantastic. The pancake name does not lie- and the homemade syrup- gah! Amazing. Portions were big. The meat on the Benny was tender and not fatty. The sausage gravy on the biscuit was definitely homemade and had such great flavor. The service was just as pleasant as the food and we can't wait to go back for a different meal. Totally worth the wait.

    Fish and chips. It's excellent.

This place is awesome. My mom and I came out to East Lansing to watch Jerry Neuheisal and the UCLA Bruins put the hurt on the Spartans. And we dined here after the game. What a great place! Super kind. Excellent food. Yall are great people in the Midwest.

Laid back decor/vibe. Pancakes are fantastic and I highly recommend the spicy Bloody Mary! Always a treat when I'm in the area.

I also liked the mismatched mugs. They seemed seriously understaffed, and service was very slow. We ordered drinks, and waited long enough for someone to come back to take our food order that we were starting to wonder if they thought we were only getting drinks. There was another long wait for our food. When it arrived, it arrived in batches. One person ordered three tacos, but the order was entered wrong, so they only got one to start, and they had to wait quite a while for the other two. The food was good overall, but the portions were quite small. I did like the Bourbon Street French toast, particularly the caramel sauce. It could have used more bananas though. The fried pickles were good, as were the spicy mozzarella sticks. The steak omelet's sauce was odd. The nachos were good. The coffee and lattes were good. The regular orange juice had less juice than one poured for our toddler. Overall it was alright, but I don't know that I'd go back.

The Kevin Bacon LT was one of their many varieties of avocado toast which tasted very fresh and clean. Came in on a Sunday morning in August and the wait was 20 minutes, which is normally not an issue but the restaurant was only about 75% full. Service was a little slow but did not alter our positive experience. We will definitely be coming back to try more things on the menu.

The food description on the menu looked amazing and it look nice coming out but the flavors were a miss. The chicken potstickers were like anything I could thaw from Sam's Club. One side was browned and the other two soggy and cool. The Italian sausage and burrata flatbread tasted of nothing but pesto. We are pesto fans but not to overpower all the other possible flavors. The grilled Asian Prime Skirt steak was tough and short on flavor. There were more cold vegetables and cabbage than rice. The ginger rice was cool and not ginger like at all.
