BB&B is a charming, low-key café located in Corning's Market Street district, directly across the street from the Palace Theatre. Here you can find fresh, pillowy-soft bagels in over a dozen flavors. While the salmon cream cheese on my sesame bagel was a hair too sweet for my taste, it was sooooo yummy! The café is a popular choice for folks of all ages, and is a good spot for parents of young children looking to stop in for a bite. My friend and I decided to stop by Babes, Bagels, and Beans after the gym to grab something quick to eat. Initially, we had stopped by late morning on a Saturday. Naturally, the place was very busy with a line almost out the door. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes, we decided we didn't have the time to wait to order and then wait for our food. No fault of the restaurant's, obviously, we just had planned on something quick. We came back the following Monday at around 10 AM to get food and work in their cafe for a few hours. It was still a little busy (it was a holiday, so fewer people were at work), but we were able to order quickly and grab a table to wait for our food and start on a little bit of work. I ordered one of their bagel of the month specials, which was a marble rye bagel sandwich with egg, swiss cheese, bacon, avocado, and veggie cream cheese. They were out of the marble rye bagel, so I opted for an onion bagel instead. My friend ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese with chive n onion cream cheese on a sesame bagel. She had wanted to try their asiago n artichoke spread, but they were out at the time. She also ordered a small cup of green tea. We only ended up waiting about 20-30 minutes for the food to be ready, which didn't seem bad considering the number of people and how there weren't very many people behind the counter making the food. However, during our wait, we were able to watch as food orders were being prepared, and we were a little disappointed to see that the bagels weren't made fresh in-house and were instead shipped in bags from NYC. I guess this is what they meant when they said "NYC" bagels. The brand was "New Yorker Bagels". I don't know why, but we had assumed they were making NYC-style bagels fresh in-house and were excited about the fact. Nevertheless, the bagels were still good (we're not necessarily bagel snobs lol). But we had just come back from a trip to NYC the weekend prior, so we were still riding that high (you really can't beat an actual NYC bagel fresh from the source). Other small things to note: The sandwiches didn't come cut in half, which I personally believe they should. We ended up cutting them with a plastic butter knife. Not a huge deal, I know, but just something to note. My friends tea was just a tea bag from Wegmans. I know tea isn't their specialty, but if they're boasting "finest locally roasted beans" for their coffee, they could probably put a little more care into tea selection too. But maybe not, because it is a coffee shop after all. I'd be curious to see what their matcha is like... They have free wifi upon request, which was nice. The bathrooms are clean. They have outdoor seating along the street, if you'd like. They have a really expansive and fun menu. Especially their flavored coffee/espresso, which we didn't end up trying, but I'd be open to trying for future visits. The staff were all friendly. The one who took our order was sweet and patient when we had to adjust our orders based on what was still available. read more

TLDR; okay food, poor service. We visited Babes Bagels & Beans at around 11AM on a Saturday where there weren't many people there. There were maybe 3 or 4 other people in line other than us. To be fair, after we ordered, it did get a bit busy with, say, 5 more people in line. We ordered an egg&cheese bagel and a lox cream cheese without onions and added avocado. The lady taking our order wasn't rude or anything, but just seemed to be unbothered and maybe not in the best mood. I get it, it might be one of those days, no complaints there. It took about 10-12 minutes to get our food. Unfortunately the egg bagel had bacon, which we didn't ask for, and the lox bagel had onion and no avocado. We decided to not bring it to their attention because they were getting busy. They seemed to be overwhelmed with the orders. Unfortunately that they didn't bother to check the actual order and not pay attention to our requests. The bagel itself is not made in store, and bought elsewhere. Didn't mind it, the bagels were tasty. However, the egg and bacon were dry. The lox bagel didn't meet expectations and noted the missing Ava ode, there was something left to be desired. The place itself is a cute little shop, not many seats. All things considered, they need to up their service and attention to orders. read more

Love the vibes in this quaint and funky coffee and bagel shop right on Main Street. Bagels shipped daily from Brooklyn and at under $5 including cream cheese is an absolute STEAL. I had the house made chai and it was delicious. Staff was happy to accommodate customizations and the place was warm and friendly on a chilly Saturday morning. We will be back for sure! read more

Excellent everything! I arrived minutes after opening this rainy Saturday morning and was greeted by a cheery person. When I asked for a coffee made a 'special' way, it was perfect. (halfway between a cappuccino and a latte). Then, I ordered a 'scooped toasted marble rye bagel with a single egg. Being an experienced bagel eater (NYC and NJ) I had modest expectations. The bagel more than passed the taste, texture, and consistency test. If you have never had 'real bagels' OR if you have, you will likely be very pleased with this fare. read more

I was very disappointed with my visit. I ordered a coffee with skim milk, but I actually saw the barista put whole milk in my cup while making it. She never mentioned that they were out of skim or asked if whole was okay she just went ahead and did it. That alone was frustrating. Then, the coffee itself was honestly the worst I've ever had. I'm not a picky person at all, so it takes a lot for me to say this. I got a pumpkin spice latte, and it tasted like someone dumped straight pumpkin spice seasoning into the drink. It was so overpowering that it felt like I was just drinking a scoop of seasoning mixed with water and milk. I couldn't even get through three sips. The sandwich was fine but it was supposed to have tomatoes and they literally put only one tomato slice I will say I loved the vibe of the place the interior was nice. read more

We were willing to try a new restaurant on Market St. Corning, NY for a quick sandwich and cup of coffee. The restaurant is well lit, has parking on street or around the block in the parking lot. It is nicely decorated in a modern decor and was well staffed. There were only a table or two that were free at the time of our visit on the weekend, late morning. The menu is on a large chalkboard behind the counter but is difficult to read due to the text used. They also have a printed paper menu on the counter where you place your order. There is no waitress or waiter service, it is more of a cafeteria style where you order yourself and wait for your name to be called to go get your food. I ordered a BLT on toast with a cold drink. They have only cans and bottles in a mini style refrigerator that you purchase, no soda fountain type cold drinks SO no ice or glass. There also were no straws at the counter so we drank from the cans. After about 15 minutes I picked up my sandwich which was handed to me inside a brown bag with a cellophane window. Inside, it was just wrapped in a tin foil BALL. As I unwrapped it I could see that it was NOT ON TOAST, but a toasted warm sub roll (which I HATE). How difficult is it to toast 2 slices of bread? The sandwich was supposed to be BLT and it did have plenty of lettuce, tomato and mayo BUT I could not find one solid piece of bacon on the entire thing. When I looked inside the large roll it looked like bacon bits that you buy to put in salad. It was tiny crunched up specs of bacon. At least 1-2 inches of each end of the sandwich had NO bacon at all, just lettuce and tomato. Very disappointing, I will not be coming back. read more

First time trying Babes, bagels, & beans on 4/5/25. Easy parking on Market street in the morning and although there was a line, it moved quick. Staff was extremely friendly and service was quick despite the line to order. Ordered two different lattes, a Bacon/Egg/Cheese, and a bagel with cream cheese. Lattes were alright, bagels themselves were good. My sandwich had a good amount of bacon but the amount of egg was minuscule, barely taking up half of the bagel. This led to a lot of dry bites of plain bagel. Reasonably priced and friendly staff will have us trying it again down the line, but it would be nice to have more substance on the sandwiches! read more

I have to preface this with the fact that the food was (mostly) good and the customer service great. I'd never dissuade someone from visiting. I did feel uneasy here, though, because there was a weird dusty smell permeating the place. I'm not sure what it was but it was unpleasant. It was also dark and poorly lit. The bagel I ordered came with avocado that was underripe, which isn't great but not a huge deal. Overall, a nice place with lots of opportunity to get even better with a few tweaks here and there. read more

The last straw. This was my third and final attempt to try and spend money here. I love bagels and coffee and really want to like this place. Today was the last trip I'll make there and if anyone asks I'll tell them what I think. The place is chaotic and unorganized. The counter help isn't helping anyone other than feeding the hormone festival going on behind the counter. If this place is making money I have absolutely no idea how. If they are losing money they better do something quick and rethink their customer service plan. Otherwise, this place will be yet another in a long line of failed eating establishments on Market Street. I have spoken to others who have had the same experience. This place is a zero on any scale. I would avoid it at all costs. Consistently inconsistent is about the best way to describe it. They simply fall short in just about every aspect of acceptable customer service! Skip your visit there as there are better options on Market and Bridge Streets. read more
