    The Globe Sandwich, Carrot Cake

Love this place! The aesthetic of the place, the menu, the music, the candies for sale, it all feels right out of the past. There are two counters: you can order ice cream from the first counter near the main entrance, and sandwiches and salads and baked goods from the cafe counter in the back. The ice cream is mostly Hershey's but they currently have one housemade gelato and one sorbetto that rotates. The ice cream counter also has novelty candy and ice cream for sale, but if you go in back to the cafe counter, they have higher quality locally produced and imported candies along with other pantry stuff like jam and tea. I've stopped here a few times. The sandwiches have been fantastic (globe sandwich and Moroccan wrap). The carrot cake was just okay, a little dry if I remember correctly, but the coconut custard pie I tried this time was perfect and not too sweet or heavy. They also do a good (and pretty big) malt milkshake. Service is fast enough and generally friendly.

When you enter this cafe, you feel like you are stepping back in time. The gorgeous woodwork, old fashioned counter, and sweet staff were a delightful surprise that we discovered on our stroll through Corning. We highly recommend the ice cream

Loved the sandwiches here! I was super surprised when we walked in...it literally is a blast from the past. Ice cream, coffee, and sandwiches. What's not to love?!?

We were looking for a light lunch and found this spot. Upon entering, there is no direction advising if they seat you or you grab a table/ booth. So we grabbed a booth. No one came over, so my husband went to look for a server. He said you had to order at the counter, so he did (fortunately I had told him my choice). Didn't seem to take long, but they gave you a buzzer to let you know when it was ready. When it buzzed, he picked them up. He had a turkey Tost and I had a chicken salad blt. We each enjoyed our sandwiches. They came with kettle chips and Doritos. He loves the kettle and I the Doritos so we were both happy. There was a fair selection of drinks, I just had diet cola. Overall, a good meal. Noticed the fine array of ice cream and candy choices, maybe next time. So the meal was good. Just wished there was clearer direction on service, which seemed more like self serve....

Great homemade soup spot. I stopped in for a quick snack and thoroughly enjoyed both soups of the day -- Cabbage Soup and Stracciatella Soup. Ordering is quick and easy at the counter and there is plenty of available seating.

I loved my stop in here for some tasty ice cream! This place is super cool with all the old world charm and look to it down to the old fashioned wall paper. They've got lots of things to try from sandwiches to ice cream for sure! I really liked the ice cream here and I enjoyed a super tasty baby sundae and it was a great price and amount of ice cream for the size. The staff were very friendly and I look forward to coming back to try other things here as well!

This was our first time visiting Corning and exploring the little shops! I'm so glad we stopped at Old World Cafe. Everyone enjoyed their food they ordered and we would definitely return again if in town.

Service was quick and both my partner's gyro wrap and my King George sandwich were outstanding. Also a good value.

The food was amazing & so was the service. Thanks Hand & Foot for great evening.

But...we got there around 12:00 and there were several people in there but also multiple tables open. The hostess ignored us and went straight to the people that just walked in after us (it was obvious we got there first)- then she didn't even address us or greet us... so we picked out a seat and then menus were brought to us. The guy behind the counter came to get our order- he seemed kind of standoffish. I noticed we also got a different presentation of food with chips in a paper bag rather than plated with our food like the others? The food seemed to be good but honestly was overshadowed by the uncomfortable feeling we were being treated differently? We were the only people of color during that time- and all of us felt like that could've been a factor... Otherwise, I try to stay impartial- so the vibe was cute and the food was good- but the experience was not comfortable

Super cute spot with lots of unique cider options and great cornbread/desserts!…read more We tried the Funkhouse, Sparkling Cab Franc, Fruit of the Bloom, and Persici (in order from dry to sweet). My favorites were the Fruit of the Bloom which is infused with ginger as well as the Funkhouse. I liked how crisp the funkhouse was and I loved the ginger note in fruit of the bloom. The others were okyay too, persici was very sweet but paired nicely with the ginger hazelnut baklava which was incredible! I am allergic to pistachios, so I loved that I could eat their baklava! We also tried the cornbread with strawberry and jalapeno butter- absolutely incredible. I am from the south and have had a lot of cornbread but this truly stands out. It came out warm with a slight crunch from the crust while maintaining the perfect crumb inside. Just crumbly enough and not too try! I also really enjoyed the jalapeno and strawberry butters- you can tell they use high quality butter, they almost reminded me of goat cheese. I preferred the jalapeno butter a tad more but both were great! The exterior is beautiful- the views are very nice. I would highly recommend coming on a warm day and sitting outside. We initially sat on the balcony but moved due to the bees. The tables underneath the white tent were shaded and bee-free. Service was pretty quick- our ciders came out almost immediately. We had to wait ~10-15 minutes for the cornbread though, but I didn't mind especially given it was warm! Overall, I would highly recommend!

Finger Lakes Cider House offers a great farm-to-table escape up north with clear V+ and GF labels…read more The Spanish bean salad is bright and satisfying, and you can easily request vegan versions of the hearty spicy collard greens and the fresh farmers salad. For the cider flight, Funkhouse and Lake Hause Rosé are excellent plant-based picks, though vegans should note the Honeoye blend is made with honey. The staff is friendly and efficient, promptly managing the busy first-come, first-served crowd. Indoors, the space is cozy but tight, making it tough for large groups on rainy days. However, the sprawling outdoor seating (May-October) is fantastic, spacious, and fully wheelchair friendly. With its casual vibe and moderate price point, it's a stellar spot for a relaxed day date or a scenic group outing. Just roll up early since they don't take reservations!
