We were looking for a lunch place that might have gluten free options and walked into Tossed after visiting the Corning Glass Museum. Tossed is located on Market Street which can be busy during lunch & dinner. They offer Vegan and Vegetarian as well. We arrived just after noon so most of the tables were taken. We managed to snag a table though and ordered. My guy had the gluten free cheeseburger bowl which was delicious! Came with a bowl of Romaine, burger, red onion, cheese, and ripe tomatoes and a tangy sauce Looked so good I had to have a bite and it was Great! I had the Trio of Isles which included 2 homemade Spanakopita. I could tell immediately because of the pastry wasn't the usual store bought puff pastry. And, it was so flavorful with garlic, spices and Pine nuts. The hummus was good and the pita points were toasted and warm when served. The falafel was okay and one was filling with homemade Tzatziki sauce. I managed to eat both falafels. I would definitely come again and just get the Spanakopita-it was Amazing. They do a lot of Take Out. Some of their salads were huge (definitely two meals worth - lunch & dinner) and several patrons were taking what they couldn't finish home for dinner. read more

Somehow, I eat lunch here every time that I am in Corning. Maybe it's because I often come for work on Mondays and they are one of the open restaurants that day.More likely, though, it's because I usually want something satisfyingly healthy at midday, and tossed always fits the bill. I usually get Cate's Buhda Bowl but recently branched out and got the tofu veggie wrap, chock full of goodness and protein. Both are really flavorful and nourishing, generous too. There is another thing that keeps me coming back. Tossed is clearly family-run, and I know that a father-daughter team seem to be mostly in charge. Once, they got my order wrong, and I waited longer than usual for the correction to appear. Not only did they credit my order but I think the person who made the error was in tears. We came by here on a Monday afternoon and got the buffalo chicken salad and the house special crab cake salad. Seatings are available both indoors and outdoors. The vegetables were fresh, and I especially love the crab cakes. The portion size is HUGE! It was enough for two meals. read more

I am a known salad connoisseur, and this restaurant, cleverly named Tossed, far beyond exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, there are SO many options for what exactly you may be craving, whether it be a salad, wrap, taco/rice bowl, etc. Then, as there should be in EVERY "build your own" based eatery, there is the multitude of options one has for add-ins, protein, dressing type, you name it! Service was incredible, considering there was only one man running the show (I believe so), and he was kind, accommodating, and patient as we read through the menu. The special was what my mother and I went for, since we are both fond of a crab cake and the idea of a crab cake salad was intriguing! When I tell you my eyes nearly popped when our salads were brought to the table.....oh my! The salads are served in a serving bowl, meaning they are enormous. Perfect for leftovers! The roasted red pepper, balsamic dressing, slight spice of the crab cakes, and texture of the avocado and edamame paired with it all- a party in my mouth! For the price, you are getting your moneys worth, that's for certain! One suggestion would be to order a single salad and share, but I was perfectly fine not sharing;) I am so glad that we gave this little place on Market Street a test run today! We stopped here for lunch on our way to the Corning Museum of Glass. The menu is huge and customizable -- definitely something for everyone (wraps, salads, rice bowls). I ordered a custom salad and got the most ginormous salad I've ever had ($9 for unlimited toppings; I added chicken for $2). My only complaint was that the mushrooms were dirty, but the owner did explain they value organic produce and chop everything in house. Tremendous value, quality, and service! We popped in for lunch while crossing NYS and had a fantastic experience. The Jerk Chicken Salad was tasty and incorporated a really pleasing combination of flavors and textures. We also ordered the Tour of the Isles plate which includes hummus, pita points, spanakopita, falafel, and tzatziki. There was a steady stream of customers while we were in the restaurant. First time here. My daughter brought me because it is one of her favorite places to eat. The menu offers every healthy thing you can imagine to put on a salad. They are made to order to you have all the options to pick from and it is made right in front of you with a salad dressing of your choice. Stopped here for lunch and I got the jerk chicken salad and my husband got the falafel bowl. My salad was humongous. Easily enough for 3-4 people! It was overall tasty - not super remarkable except for the size, but a great value for sure. My husband's falafel bowl was really really good though. I'm not a huge falafel fan and I would have eaten all of it. The portion size was healthy, but not straight up overkill like the salads. Their food is just like the Greek restaurant back in Buffalo New York. The food is delicious when I discovered tossed in my neighborhood. We had visited the Corning Museum of Glass and had heard great things about Market Street. Tossed caught our eye for the type of food and options available. Our party had a build your own salad- with many options for toppings. You could add quinoa for a slight up charge, but my daughter loved it. I got the Cobb salad and they gladly substituted items. The salads are HUGE and delicious. My husband got the California wrap which he enjoyed. We also had one if the homemade cookies available- mmm good! The owner was the person helping us, we believe. He stated he grows some of his own produce hydroponically and uses local farmers for others. We ate outside and he came to check on us once to make sure everything was to our liking. This was an awesome place. The concept is very different and unique. If you love a great salad and have been looking for somewhere to go, then go here. First thing first, the portion sizes are HUGE. A couple could easily split a salad or anyone else with company! They offer pita wraps, wraps, salads, and a customize your own salad. With that being said, I got a customize your own salad. It came with buffalo chicken, eggs, tomatoes, croutons, ranch, and blue cheese dressing. It was amazing. I got spinach and lettuce for my base. The amount of options for the topping of your salads is amazing! They have just about everything. My grandma also customized her own salad and my aunt got the Pandora box. They offer drinks inside a small cooler. There is little decor but it honestly doesn't need it. The service was quick and great. The salads are delicious. I can't wait to try the wraps. read more

Finally! Vegetarians have a place for salads! We stopped here when it had it's soft opening to check out the new place on Market, I haven't been back since then and hope to visit again soon but from my first visit: I liked it. It reminds me of a placed called Saladworks in the tristate area, but more environmentally conscious. it's a great place for healthy eating with choices for salads, pitas, soups, cookies, and bagels. I wish it were open earlier then 8am so I could stop in for coffee and a bagel before heading to work. The customer service is really great, the people are so friendly and you can tell they really want to make it work. My only gripe about this place is the wooden utensils and the box that the salad is in. I love that it's more environmentally biodegradable but I hate the wood. Other then that, it's a pretty awesome place people should definitely check out! I love the window spot so you can people watch. read more

My experience here was excellent. I was traveling for work during a snow storm and very few restaurants were open, but I'm in a hotel with no restaurant in it and I needed to pick something up. On top of it I somehow left my wallet in my hotel room before leaving for work this morning so I needed a restaurant that accepted online orders from Yelp so I wouldn't have to go all the way back to my hotel first because I was starving.
