They heard my plea! There is now a section on the menu called NOT COFFEE, which includes OJ, milk, hot tea, and maybe some others. I went with a few friends yesterday, and we all got the honey butter chicken biscuit which was amazing! I didn't really expect much but was intrigued. The biscuit was flaky and soft, there were three pieces of fried chicken in the middle, and the sauce was delicious. I got a small OJ and the biscuit and it all came out to be about $6 which is a great price for a filling brunch. Will definitely be back for that biscuit! Bye, Whataburger. read more

After a flood of beautiful donuts to my instagram feed, I realized I had to make a visit. I forced a friend to come with me around 10am on a Sunday. This shop had a variety of pastries, kolaches and breakfast sandwiches. They also had a ton of different coffees, including a Lavender Honey Iced Coffee, which had a ton of unique flavor. I chose a cinnamon sugar donut with Nutella and fresh strawberries and a honey butter chicken biscuit to go along with it. I wasn't really sure where to order or how I was going to be receiving my food, and the staff didn't proactively communicate that to me either. There are still plenty of things I would like to try, so I will be returning soon. read more

My husband and I moved to the area a few weeks ago and had seen this place while driving by or walking. So, we finally decided to visit and try the doughnuts. We ordered two of the cinnamon nutella ones, one apple fritter, and a plain doughnut. They did not have the plain ones on display, instead they had them topped with some sort of frosting and sprinkled. I asked for a plain one and luckily had some in the back and brought me one. Having spent time in Michigan and frequenting apple cider mills during fall, warm plain doughnuts are a must! Their was not particularly warm, but nonetheless soft and delicious! The apple fritter was also very good, chunks of apples mixed in with soft and slightly crunchy dough, yum! My husband and I both loved the cinnamon nutella ones--they are truly delicious, despite his comment that he would have preferred them filled with nutella. He is a chocolate lover after all :) We also got iced coffee, which was strong and tasted good, as in not made with tap water (as some previous reviewer had mentioned). Customer service was on point; the lady who helped me was friendly and very polite. We chatted for a minute while she was getting my order. OMG!!!! One word Chicken honey butter biscuit and you thought whataburger had the best????! NEGATIVE. The biscuit was sooo soft and the chicken was crispy and moist Honey butter was not too sweet and not super sticky, just perfect. The wait was a little long but they took notice and threw in a extra one I also had the honey and milk latte it was they perfect balance between sweet and savory! Donuts are tasty and competitively priced. They didn't knock my socks off though. Coffee is good. The hot food from the back is also tasty, BUT being they are still so new--they are incredibly slow. Took over an hour to wait in line, then wait for a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit that was on par with anything you could grab from a gas station (we had also ordered doughnuts, which we got right away). I'm excited to give it another shot when they get things moving more efficiently. **UPDATE -- 3 stars to 4. My first review was given on a busy Saturday when Babes was still new. I've become a Friday morning regular. At 7am, the wait times are Much more reasonable! I highly recommend the southwest taco if you're looking for hot food. Some of the donuts are hit or miss, but when they're on they are ON! When they're off... they're off, in the trash off. The drip coffee is good quality (not the dark sludge you get at a LOT of other donut shops!), but the cappuccinos and lattes are still a little hit or miss... could be a little dependent on who makes it? It might serve them well to get an employee who is the main barista rather than all the employees doing all the jobs. read more

Been going to Babe's regularly for quite a while. Service is always great. Coffee is pretty good. Best time to go is on the weekends when you can get their Honey Butter Chicken biscuits. They're to die for They have some pretty great colaches as well, especially when they have the boudain colaches. Ive had they're breakfast sandwiches a couple times and they've always been good, just not what I go for usually. I'm also not really one for doughnuts but their selection always looks amazing. I come here at least once a week, usually on a weekday afternoon. Up until today, the service, as well as the food, had been wonderful. I would have given 5 stars, but the guy serving at the counter today ruined it. When I asked about the pricing on the donut holes at the back (I've only purchased donuts and kolache so far), his answer was that they were all different. Okay....well can you tell me all these different prices, so I can learn what their general price range is? Then he started to mumble some words as he turned away and walked to the coffee machines (I'd ordered a small coffee as well) and I really couldn't catch a single word he said. When he turned back with the coffee, he had a frown on his face. So I got the point that he may not enjoy interacting with customers, and decided that I'll ask someone else on my next visit. And then I looked at the coffee that he gave me, and honestly, there was just too much room remaining at the top. And the guy started walking away before I could make any comment about it. The donuts and coffee still tasted great, but the visit today was very disappointing, and ruined my mood. If I see that same guy again the next time I visit, I'm probably gonna walk right back out. read more

Everyone wants this hipster style donut joint to succeed. The restaurant is very appealing, and it is about time for a modern donut shop in BCS. This place is very appealing to the coffeehouse gang that is looking for something other than Starbucks or the 3 other places in BCS. If you are a parent or grandparent bringing the kids, I have found Babe's lacking. My 8 yr old Austin donut expert says the donuts are soggy. Grampa says the service is poor (ordered tacos from the menu on the wall), paid, and then they figured out the kitchen was out of tacos (Monday morning at 8am; guess they don't know where the grocery store is). Bottom line-this is a coffeehouse that happens to dabble in donuts, and the management is hip enough to know what a modern donut menu should look like, but they are not ready for the ruthless children's donut crowd by a long shot. PS, 3rd time I've have aggressively poor service here while my grandchildren were hungrily waiting! read more

I like the chain that is around town as well, but these are different, kind of like a restaurant burger is different from a fast food burger.
