Years ago Babe's was our favorite place to get donuts, but times have changed. The last time I ordered coffee it was not very good. They have cut menu items that we loved. Blueberry was usual commercial berry flavor. For a drink, I wanted straight chai tea, not a chai latte. The counter lady figured out how to get that from their system, which I think only had the latte version. The tea itself had very good taste to my estimation. The spice flavors were strong & really blasted through. They left my mouth with a very zippy tingle. Total price was $5, so a bit above the norm for a donut and a hot drink. I've been here twice now. Iced Autumn spice coffee is the way to go. My daughter wanted a pink doughnut. Unfortunately, they had sold all of them out. However, they went above and beyond for us. Drayson changed my glazed donut with pink icing and sprinkles on top. I did not expect this at all specially when they were closing in 20 minutes and so close to Thanksgiving. Second time visiting! I am new to BCS and a big lover of coffee and doughnuts! So glad I've found Babe's. Honey lavender iced latte is very good, not too sweet or overly floral. Just right and will order again. They were out of biscuits so I got the chicken and honey butter on a croissant. The combination is delightful, breading is crisp and flavorful on the tenders. Croissant is BUTTERY & flaky. Looking foreword to getting here earlier in order to try with the biscuit next time. Cake donuts are my fav and these are wonderful. Was extremely disappointed after visiting this donut shop in bryan. I love a good donut and I regularly visit shipleys and Donald donuts and have never had a complaint . However , babes donuts are overpriced , small, and frankly just not good at all. I got about 6 different donuts and every single one with toppings was stale and tasted days old. This is a very cute, very good donut shop. I got the classic chocolate frosting with sprinkle donut - it was light and not very oily! I would definitely get this again. My friend loves their Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit - and after trying it, I can see why, the biscuit is so light and fluffy and has a great flavor, and the chicken is fried to perfection! Their homemade honey butter completes this amazing sandwich! It is quite large, but not enough to split between two people. I also loved the chocolate glazed donut holes - I normally dislike donut holes, but these are SO AMAZING! The parking is quite sparse, but you can park on the side street next to the restaurant. Additionally, there is not ample seating, so be vigilant after ordering to snag your table! I can't wait to come back here! read more

We had a great experience at this little gem! I almost gave this place a 4.5 because they got my order wrong (I got a croissant sandwich instead of a biscuit sandwich), but it was still really good. My husband go the breakfast taco, which was one of the better ones we've had. The best part of course... was the doughnut. I wish we could have ordered more, but we had strong will power at the moment. We shared a cinnamon Nutella doughnut and licked the last bite. We for sure need to come back to try all of the different flavors. It was a little surprising, based on the curb appeal of this place, but Babe's seems like a good spot for work/studying. The bacon was cooked well for the maple bacon, but the others we had were just meh. Nothing outstanding that can't be found at any other donut shop in a random strip mall. I've been waiting to try this place for a really long time now and we've finally got to it on Easter! They have a ton of options when it comes to sweet donuts and a handful of choices for savory options. We went a little overboard and the two of us got the lemon meringue pie, Nutella, and maple glazed bacon donuts and for savory options we got a honey fried chicken biscuit and a boudin roll. Everything was super delicious especially the fried chicken. The chicken's comparable in quality to cafe Eccel, less seasoned but tastes like authentic fried chicken you'd get at a mom and pop fried chicken shop. A little critique on the lemon meringue though, the lemon curd on the inside wasn't tart enough for me and it was a bit more gelatinous than curd like for my preference. The service was alright, everyone's young and they didn't seem too keen to be there but thy got the job done. Babe's has quickly become my go to breakfast and coffee stop! Immediately when I walked in for the first time I fell in love with the atmosphere! My biggest complaint about donut shops is the lack of seating, sometimes I want to sit and enjoy my donuts rather than taking them to go. Not only does this place have a decent amount of seating, it is extremely spacious so you don't feel like the people standing in line are on top of you. With a sort of rustic decor, this donut shop is very inviting and accommodating so feel free to set up shop and take advantage of their free wifi. The owners and staff are wonderful! They are always friendly and spend time talking to my oh-so-talkative 5 year old. The donut selections are fun and delicious! They are fluffy and taste like a little piece of heaven in your mouth. They also offer kolaches, breakfast sandwiches and muffins. I have not yet tried the breakfast sandwiches or muffins, but they look amazing! Typically my husband and I are not going to get coffee where we get our donuts because most donut shops just carry burnt drip coffee. When I learned Babe's was going to begin serving coffee/espresso I was a bit skeptical, but I have yet to be disappointed! They use purified water which makes all the difference and they take their time to do it right. It is clear they are very invested in providing quality coffee drinks. What a great addition to Bryan/College Station food fare establishments. I highly recommend the Cuvée coffee they bring in from Austin, it really is a delicious bean. I've tried it straight up, espresso style and in a latte: it works and is now officially my favorite place for java. They do it right because they are using filtered water. SO many establishments in BCS use tap water and (no offense BCS) but your water tastes awful. I've lived here for years and can only really stomach filtered/osmosis water (please get the hint restaurants community wide). Anyway, well done Babe's. I also highly recommend the breakfast tacos. They are tasty and homemade: yes, you'll have to wait a bit for them to actually make it from scratch, so if you're in a hurry--dive into the donuts. Lots of flavors, curious and unique combinations. (Confession: I'm not a huge donut lover but the cinnamon twist does hit the right spot.) As I mentioned earlier, I go for the coffee; but, the regular staff are always warm and inviting. And there is one of them that is quite the artist with foam on the latte. Free wifi (check the blackboard on the wall for password). Chill vibe. Outdoor seating now available. Babe's is a cute little shop unassumingly located on the side of Texas Ave, tucked between a KFC and a gas station and camouflaged in the same way a wallflower stays out of the center of attention. But enter, and discover it's quite a charming little establishment. I got a masala chai latte, a plain glazed doughnut, and a HBCB (The last of which us only available weekends). The prices here are all very reasonable, and they emphasize using Cuvee roasted beans (a funky coffee shop from Austin known for their nitro brew). The doughnut was a little on the doughy, chewy side, which I prefer, so I was a happy camper. The biscuit was also hot and fresh, and the chicken inside more moist than anticipated. Everything was yummy. My only regret is we came in the afternoon so I'm afraid most of their popular selections were already sold out. Overall I enjoyed my time at Babe's, but considering how doughnuts are good for my mental health but not my waist, I probably won't be coming by too often. read more
