This is the most unprofessional, rude, downright joke of an establishment. When I first walked in…read moreto do a consultation to see if the gym was worth joining not only was I met by a young college kid who couldn't keep his cursing out of his vocabulary for one second, but I was also only notified of an initial 3K$+ joining fee (wonder why he was hiding that). Given the amenities and size, I was hesitant to join and requested a 2 week trial. Which to my surprise they did offer. After the first week, I was unfortunately pulled back to my home town where I cared for a deathly family member who fell victim to COVID-19. After 6 weeks of caring for them, and unfortunately passed away, I was finally able to return to tiburon where I myself quarantined for 2 weeks. Excited to get back into the swing of things and resume exercising on my trial (of which I had only technically used 5 days out of the 14 initially allotted) I was careful to exercise during later hours to not disturb other members. On day 2 back from my return to gym use, I was absolutely bombarded by the rude, young kid who I spoke with at the very start. Without asking any questions he immediately started yelling at me and cursing (no surprise) getting in my face pointing his finger inches away from my face (without a mask) telling me "fuck off, no one cares about your personal bullshit". When I tried to explain how and why I had been gone for 6-8 weeks, he told me again "no one fucking cares. Shut the fuck up. Leave." This is the epitome of a poorly run, ill managed, joke of a gym. And the only reason they exist is because they get elderly members to pay an arm and a leg just so they get access to a few machines -- another quote from child manager "the only way we stay open is because our few members pay so much a month. That's where our rent and additional income come from" I will speaking with authorities for the way I was treated. The unsafe environment I saw. The mask less members that were never considerate of others, and the verbal abuse that I encountered while there.

Anytime Fitness - Cleanliness? The smell of ick and cringe! What's that in the corner?

I think this will be the first review since they were closed from December 8 to December 22 for…read morerenovations. First off, this isn't my home gym. I only come to this one because of the location when I'm visiting family in the Bay Area. When you think of Sausalito, you think upscale, well-managed, personable, and impressionable. Not really the vibe I got at this Anytime Fitness center. You should have stayed closed until everything was cleaned up and ready for a grand re-opening. I came in the other night when it was pouring rain and, to be honest, I wasn't not really impressed with the new set-up compared to what it was before. When I first walked in, I was immediately met with the smell of sweat, some other funky stale odors, and just an overall feeling of cringe and ick. Let's just say I've been to better gyms that actually make a conscious effort to feel welcoming when you "badge in." The storage cubby area for personal items was overflowing with water bottles, sweaters/jackets, workout towels, and clothes balled up in the corner that have just been left there. Primary source of the smell, I think. No accountability, no apparent care for cleanliness. FAIL!!! A side office door with a "Redlight Sauna Therapy" sign next to it was off the hinges with boxes inside, in plain view, that I can only assume were left there from the recent renovation. Floor mats at the front entrance off to the side that weren't laid down and interconnected, just stacked one on top of the other. The color palette is bland and not energetic. Grey and White? Seriously? Stick with the primary brand and accent colors: Blurple, Purple, White, Red/Orange, and Green/Turquoise. You should know this! Where's the "Inspiration Wall Board" for members to write words of motivation for other members? The brick and mortar "Anytime Fitness" logo wall with supplements is also gone/missing. If this was meant to be a soft opening, you missed the mark entirely. I'm not Joey Swoll, but overall, I'd say "you need to do better." So what's changed, positively? There's a new gym set-up/floor plan from when I was here last year, 2024. The spin class / group training studio is no longer there and has been opened up to include 4 new squat racks, a cable pulley machine, and flat bench rack. On the other side, it's still very much the same with the mirrored wall and free weights as well as the purple turf training area with TRX bands and medicine balls. There are two new treadmills, I think. The track mat/belts feel a little flimsy and could use some tightening. The massage chair room is still there. 4 unisex restrooms, only one has a shower. I loved coming here before the renovation, but now, I'm not so sure. You have a lot to improve on and make better in order to make me ever reconsider coming back here.

If you're looking for personal training in Marin, CaliTraining is an absolute gem. My husband and I…read morehave been doing couples training with them for over a year, and it's completely transformed our fitness. We've seen major improvements in our strength, conditioning, and overall health -- and we've actually enjoyed the process (which I didn't think was possible at a gym). Jesse and Scott are both incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to train with. We're at different fitness levels, but they've created customized workouts that challenge us both and keep us motivated. We always leave our sessions feeling stronger, more energized, and never once regretted showing up. The other thing that makes CaliTraining so unique is the location. You're literally training on a dock over the bay, with seals swimming by and boats in the background -- it's like nothing else in Marin. It feels almost surreal that this is where we get to work out. Over time, we've also become part of a really welcoming, down-to-earth community. We've met great people through the gym, and it's made our fitness routine something we truly look forward to. If you want a personal training experience that's thoughtful, personalized, and set in one of the most beautiful spots in the Bay Area, this is it. We can't imagine our lives without Jesse, Scott, and CaliTraining.
