We've seen major improvements in our strength, conditioning, and overall health -- and we've actually enjoyed the process (which I didn't think was possible at a gym). Jesse and Scott are both incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to train with. We're at different fitness levels, but they've created customized workouts that challenge us both and keep us motivated. We always leave our sessions feeling stronger, more energized, and never once regretted showing up. The other thing that makes CaliTraining so unique is the location. You're literally training on a dock over the bay, with seals swimming by and boats in the background -- it's like nothing else in Marin. It feels almost surreal that this is where we get to work out. Over time, we've also become part of a really welcoming, down-to-earth community. We've met great people through the gym, and it's made our fitness routine something we truly look forward to. If you want a personal training experience that's thoughtful, personalized, and set in one of the most beautiful spots in the Bay Area, this is it. We can't imagine our lives without Jesse, Scott, and CaliTraining.

I only come to this one because of the location when I'm visiting family in the Bay Area. When you think of Sausalito, you think upscale, well-managed, personable, and impressionable. Not really the vibe I got at this Anytime Fitness center. You should have stayed closed until everything was cleaned up and ready for a grand re-opening. I came in the other night when it was pouring rain and, to be honest, I wasn't not really impressed with the new set-up compared to what it was before. When I first walked in, I was immediately met with the smell of sweat, some other funky stale odors, and just an overall feeling of cringe and ick. Let's just say I've been to better gyms that actually make a conscious effort to feel welcoming when you "badge in." The storage cubby area for personal items was overflowing with water bottles, sweaters/jackets, workout towels, and clothes balled up in the corner that have just been left there. Primary source of the smell, I think. No accountability, no apparent care for cleanliness. FAIL!!! A side office door with a "Redlight Sauna Therapy" sign next to it was off the hinges with boxes inside, in plain view, that I can only assume were left there from the recent renovation. Floor mats at the front entrance off to the side that weren't laid down and interconnected, just stacked one on top of the other. The color palette is bland and not energetic. Grey and White? Seriously? Stick with the primary brand and accent colors: Blurple, Purple, White, Red/Orange, and Green/Turquoise. You should know this! Where's the "Inspiration Wall Board" for members to write words of motivation for other members? The brick and mortar "Anytime Fitness" logo wall with supplements is also gone/missing. If this was meant to be a soft opening, you missed the mark entirely. I'm not Joey Swoll, but overall, I'd say "you need to do better." So what's changed, positively? There's a new gym set-up/floor plan from when I was here last year, 2024. The spin class / group training studio is no longer there and has been opened up to include 4 new squat racks, a cable pulley machine, and flat bench rack. On the other side, it's still very much the same with the mirrored wall and free weights as well as the purple turf training area with TRX bands and medicine balls. There are two new treadmills, I think. The track mat/belts feel a little flimsy and could use some tightening. The massage chair room is still there. 4 unisex restrooms, only one has a shower. I loved coming here before the renovation, but now, I'm not so sure. You have a lot to improve on and make better in order to make me ever reconsider coming back here.

I moved to the…read moreMarin area several months ago and have hopped around gym to gym paying for day passes to check out the facilities and this one, by far, has all of them beat in variety of equipment, friendliness of staff, and cleanliness, and they even have a red light recovery room and massage recovery room! Make sure to ask for Trevor if you have any questions at all, I cannot attest enough to his industry knowledge, his professionalism, and general positive vibe.

Her classes are very balanced, a true full body workout-she never focuses too much on one area or neglects another. They're also varied, so each class is different than the last one. They're also very accessible-she consistently provides variations on poses to make them more challenging or more accessible. Deanna's positive attitude, patience and supportive nature are definitely worth noting. Her classes always feel like a safe space to try new and challenging poses (or take a break when you need to). They're fun too-Deanna's got a great sense of humor. She's also very present and available during and after class for assistance, advice, whatever. I always leave Deanna's classes in a better mood with much more energy. I would recommend her to anyone-beginners, or people with much more advanced practices. She really is the best :)

My new go-to masseuse!…read more I got a Homerun deal and booked a Thai massage with Deanna. She's set in two locations, either you can go to Fisherman's Wharf area or Outer Richmond. The way I rate my massages is by how free and different I feel coming out of it. She definitely knows what she's doing, and I was relaxed the entire time. Her head massage at the end was so soothing I almost fell asleep! Every detail was awesome, and you know you're getting a good massage if time goes by too fast. I swear the 1.5 hour just flew by haha. And of course, I gotta mention how extremely, super duper nice she is. I mean she is very, very genuine. She has an amazing energy and positiveness that you can't get mad at. From all this, I won't be surprised if her yoga sessions are good too.

Believe me, I never thought in a million years that I would take a spin class. It always looked miserable to me. But lo and behold, a friend persuaded me to try Jen's class. And after a couple of classes, I was hooked. Jen motivates you without acting like a drill sergeant. Her classes are nothing but positive and free-spirited. It's odd when you can exercise and smile/laugh at the same time. That's the kind of environment she creates for her classes. BTW, most of the students in my spin class have been training with Jen for years. Now THAT says something. And come to think of it, I guess I'm now one of her regulars. FYI - Jen's spin class is every Monday and Wednesday (12pm) @ The Club at Harbor Point. You can't beat the bayside views while you pedal and sweat. Brad analyzed my situation and developed a customized yoga routine for me. He also performed some deep bodywork to help me unlock some severe biomechanical problems I had developed. Watch out for his sharp elbows the unlocking comes with a sharp short-term price. Next, Brad asked me to join his 12 week yoga course. This was much more in-depth program that combined study of the Vedas, Movement, and Group sharing/feedback. The program was as informative and meaningful as the time you invest in it. In other words, it was flexible - everyone grew together and some gained deep insight and growth. Then, Brad started making nutrition a more intrinsic part of his own life and his message to his students. He convinced me to start following ayurvedic cooking methods, and I have been amazed at how much fantastic growth and progress I've made with the combination of yoga and ayurveda. Finally, Brad is a deeply committed yogi who takes great care with both the practice and his students. At the same time, Brad is a very down to earth guy who can be fun, inspirational, hard core, and encouraging. If you want to understand yoga, develop a meaningful practice, and resolve underlying physical or bio-mechanical traumas, I can promise that it will be very rewarding to work with Brad.

You see, Meghan and I have been attending the same gym together for a few years, and developed a fast friendship in that time. I've seen her total transformation from fitness enthusiast to amazing competitor, knowledgable expert, and head Crossfit coach. In that time, I simply kept going to the gym, while she immersed herself into the community and lifestyle, taking classes, attending seminars, learning anything and everything about effective coaching, proper technique and form, and all that goes with it. She's become an inspiration to many people at our gym, myself included. So when I had to take four months off from the gym due to injury, it wasn't even a question of how I would ease myself back in once I had clearance. I signed up with Meghan for one month of personal training. In that time, she scheduled workouts of increasing difficulty, tailored to my fitness level and keeping my rehabbed injury in mind. She motivated and pushed, getting me back into the shape I needed to be in order to rejoin the gym group the following month. By the end of it, I was feeling ready for anything, and found myself wishing I could program more sessions with her, which honestly came as a shock. I thought I would be so excited to get back into the group sessions that had so motivated me before, but I found that I was making much bigger gains under her guidance, and wanted more! Free parking lot. Empty when I arrived in the morning, but no spaces by the afternoon. It is a pretty peaceful beach. It doesn't really have a tourist feel that some beach areas have since it's just the beach itself (no shops/food or anything like that). It's not a huge area, but we came during low tide and walked around the more rocky area before the tide started rising. They do have restrooms at the parking lot. Although, the restrooms were disgusting when I was there, so I'd avoid it if possible. (Not flushing toilets.)

Muir Beach feels like the California people imagine, but quieter and more honest…read more Instead of a crowded boardwalk or lines of shops, you come down a winding road through coastal hills and suddenly the land just opens up. The ocean isn't bright blue like postcards, it's deep gray-green, powerful, and constantly moving. The waves don't gently roll in... they crash. You feel it in your chest before you even step on the sand. The sand is darker and softer than most beaches, almost cool even in the sun. Behind you are tall grasses and weathered driftwood, not hotels. In front of you is nothing but horizon. There's a small creek cutting through the beach and a wooden bridge crossing it, which somehow makes the whole place feel more like a nature preserve than a tourist stop. People aren't blasting music or playing volleyball, they're walking, breathing, taking pictures, or just sitting quietly watching the water. If you want a loud beach day, this isn't it. If you want to slow down and actually feel the ocean, this is one of the most peaceful places near San Francisco.

One word; STAIRS! Lots of stairs. And inclines galore. The hike along the Dipsea trail is…read moredefinitely not for the faint of heart. It's a strenuous trek that maneuvers through some of the most beautiful parts of Mount Tamalpais and Muir Woods. The great thing is, you can combine this trail with other trails within the park to make it as easy or as strenuous as you'd like. One of the most popular variations of this hike is the Dipsea-Matt Davis-Steep Ravine loop trail. It's roughly 8 miles and 1,700 feet of elevation gain, and tackles parts of the Dipsea stairs and Matt Davis trail inclines. I hiked this loop and it was absolutely fabulous! The Dipsea portion of the hike is mainly exposed but offers some really scenic coastal views when you reach the top. Compared to the Matt Davis and Steep Ravine Trail, it was my least favorite, but I still enjoyed the workout that I got from hiking up the stairs. The Dipsea trail is definitely more of an incline workout versus a super scenic trek. But when combining this trail with other more scenic trails in the park, you'll be able to enjoy the best of both worlds. The Dipsea Trail can actually be accessed from a few different locations within the park. The three most popular access points are from Stinson Beach, Pantoll Campground, and Muir Woods National Monument. I started on the trail from Stinson Beach and I really enjoyed the loop through Steep Ravine and Matt Davis. Would recommend if you're looking for a versatile hike in Marin with a mix of stairs, ocean views, and forested pathways.
