Great atmosphere - the vibe of the whole place chill, classy and modern. But the acoustics make it loud when crowded. Bartenders are top notch - if you're having a bad day, Noah and Renee will cheer you right up! Great drinks and food - haven't had a cocktail there that I didn't like. The wine and beer is pretty good as well. And the food is great to nibble on though not an extensive food menu. the ambiance is so warm and great! The drinks were so innovative and delish! The Velvet Fog is by far my favorite, the Poblano in that drink really stands out in the best way possible. The only downside about this place is the parking situation. I won't take any stars away from them bc truly it's not the baby gee's staffs' fault for lack of parking (blame the city for that one) but if you're struggling to find some parking don't give up!! This review is based off of my 3rd & final visit. When you walk in ( pray you ubered , took public transit , or live in the area. There is no parking ). When you walk in your confused on a few things . The majority of the crowd are hipsters. Just sizing up. You also ask yourself "is this a thrift shop or a tiki bar "? It's so dark inside , it's like looking under the bed . So while you're confused about this interior design , your attention is taken away by the smell of something burned is in the air . Please show whoever is cooking how to clean an oven . To not be mean my group let a staff member know & this person responded with " I can't really notice". This person probably doesn't make their bed every morning. We decided to opt out of food because at first glance there is no kitchen , it's a makeshift kitchen. So there's no way they could possibly be making bread or dough there . We get mark ups and inflation but why charge double for frozen or outsourced items not made in the space ? Not doing a solid for your guest. Also knowing the smell of the oven , guaranteed we would've had a nasty taste in our mouths . The drinks reasonably priced were unfortunately not drinkable. We do understand the importance of being creative & letting your freak flag Fly . But what about respecting tradition & classic techniques? The 2 bartenders at the time acted as if they were the gods & we knew nothing ..... Nope. Nothing else sounded appealing, so our party of 4 asked for Daiquiris . Once again , the sourpuss face we were given was the cherry. If you don't make anything off the menu , use a sign. If you're too good to make a classics , go work at a dive bar. There's plenty of them. Overall , worth the hype. ....... Absolutely not . You're better off standing in front of hole mole with a big bottle of Old English. . read more

I had high hopes for this bar but was pretty disappointed. We tried 2 different drinks and weren't impressed. I appreciate the attempt at craft cocktails but the ingredients just didn't pair well. The thing that really led to the review and 2 stars was how unsanitary one of the bartenders was. Not only was he scooping ice into the glass with HIS HANDS, but then handling menus, the register, and everything else at the same time! He was literally packing this person's drink with that small ice so it had a round top (this snow cone shape) and was just cupping his hand over the top of the ice. First time here and immediately we loved the place. We're local DTLB peeps but we go to LA for a great cocktail but now we don't have to do the long drive. The drinks we had were amazing and well balanced just like LA style. The music was great and the bartender- Bruce Lee made the experience even better. LOVE this bar!!! Went for the first time last night and it is so cute and the cocktails are AMAZING!! They're all really refreshing and unique. The atmosphere is great too--like an upscale dive bar. It does feel like you've teleported to a cool bar in New York. Additionally they have a small food menu and all of it is incredible, especially the focaccia with burrata. I appreciate everything isn't super overpriced either. The only downside is that the place is tiny, and it gets PACKED which makes it really hard to get a drink! They had 2 bartenders last night but would be a lot better if they had at least 1 more. I would recommend staying away on the weekends. Otherwise I love this bar and will definitely be back! read more

I was really excited to try this place after hearing about it for several months. We went at 5pm on a Friday every table was available and some spots at the bar. There were 3 of us so we opted for a table. Nobody ever came and served us so we ordered our drinks at the bar each time. Very cool speak easy type atmosphere. Went in with a group of 6 on a Thursday night, maybe 1015pm. Ordered a round of drinks ranging from 18-22 bucks a piece. Drinks take a while as these are craft cocktails and made by legit Mixologists. Perfectly balanced cocktails and the ambiance is great. Ordered another round about 1045 and they brought those over to our table and we were all having a good time but place abruptly started to empty out. It's maybe 11pm and a bouncer/door man dude walks over to our table and tells us they are closing and we need to leave? Some of us at table still had 1/2 if not 2/3 full drinks still. My buddy tells him OK. Can you give us a minute? We need to light up an UBER? The dick head responds, we can do it outside? It's freaking cold AF we have full drinks and getting an UBER for 6 takes a little longer. He didn't care and as we chugged our overpriced drinks, we set them down, walked out front door and he literally shut and locked door behind us. I guess this is how they treat new customers? Place has no clue how to treat guests! It's a shame because the bar and drinks are good. One bad apple ruined it for all! Never again!!! read more

This place is adorable . The owners are super nice people and they are so involved with their work it's like they are hosting a party and you're the guest. They were so nice to chat with. Danny is on it when it comes to focaccia! I have been here four times and I always get the olive garlic pizza. It's so good and it's not black olives they are warm buttery green olives. The garlic is perfect and not overwhelming and the cheese is that dreamy pull apart cheese burata. Gianna the other owner put so much love into creating the cocktails! They are all so unique and out of this world. I've tried about 6 different ones on the menu but my absolute favorites are the fiore de carciofo (refreshing) and the pang wangle (bourbon blackberry). These drinks are so good you really have to try it to explain it. The combination of ingredients are just epic! The alcohol is very good quality and proportioned as well. I've never had a watery drink. All the bartenders are awesome. And a special shout out to Noah!
