I'm basically obsessed with this place! I've always enjoyed grabbing a quick coffee with friends at night, but now that it's summertime and I'm off from work, I've been coming in nearly every weekday morning. I usually just sit with my coffee and read for at least 1-2 hours and no one bothers me at all. No one makes you feel like you should be ordering more coffee or shouldn't be sitting for extended time. It's legitimately the most relaxing part of my entire day! The staff is super friendly and the cold brew coffee is delicious. If you're like me, and you enjoy just sitting to read and relax with a good cup of coffee and a cookie then this is the best spot I've found!! (Ps...the banana nut latte is my everything) read more

How haven't I reviewed this place yet? Well, probably because I don't visit as often as I'd like. Living in New Jersey, taking the trek out here is more of a once in a season type of thing. But if you want any indication of how good this place is, just know I'm considering moving to Babylon if only to be in the same area as this coffee shop... Yeah... First off, the atmosphere is beyond calming. The moment I step in the door I feel whatever stress I had quickly peeling away. The art on the walls, which comes from local artists, dance around with famous portraits and images from throughout history. I always find something new to look at whenever I go. It also helps that whoever makes the playlists here has a wonderful taste in music. I've never had a problem with the service. Everyone is always super nice and take real care in making sure you have everything you want the way you want. But you're probably wondering, what about the coffee? Wonderful. Delicious. The baked goods are also really good (especially the scones). I always try to sample something different every time I go and I haven't been disappointed yet. Maybe it's the atmosphere or maybe the coffee is just really damn good. Whatever it is, it's one of my favorite ways to wind down a long day on the Island. read more

Wow! What a quaint place is this!!! I had been to long Island for some work and wanted to spend some time here to beat traffic hours. This place is warm and welcoming with everyone in the town visiting this place in the evening. This cafe is the only eatery open in Village of Babylon until 11pm! So impressed with this gem of a place! I walked here from my job in the village because I was craving an acai bowl but I had some paperwork to sit down and do. The girls at the counter really know what they're doing, and the acai bowls are among the freshest and most delicious bowls I've ever had. The atmosphere on a weekday afternoon is great. Whenever I'm in babylon village this is my number one spot! It has great atmosphere, staff is great to never had had a issue. They support the creativity within the community by having open mic and local bands playing. The selections of tea, coffe, Frappuccinos and smoothes are vast. No one so much as looked in my general direction when I entered the first time, just killing time and scoping it out for a return. I saw a blackboard mentioning 2-for-1 slices of pie on Tuesdays, perfect for my weekly Babylonian jaunt. Right off Main St adjacent the Carriage House, the space could be a bit less contrived, and I don't drink coffee (even if it is "better than Starbucks" here). The same girl from my first trip was here again, this time helpful only because her obnoxious boss was there. I waited patiently at the cake/pie display and nothing was labeled, so I asked what a few things were. I made 2 selections and she asked what my third would be. I had no intention of getting a third and was perplexed why she thought I'd want another. She broke the news that it was buy 2, get one half-off....? What a scam. I got one $5.20 raspberry mousse slice, an overpriced, standard slice that did nothing to change my mind about never returning again. This is my favorite coffee place! We think its better than Starbucks. There iced vanilla lattes are to die for! They have great lunches too! There food is always fresh. They have delicious coffee drinks, cookies, and bagels. The service is great as well. The owners are always there and they as well as the servers are so nice! Usually this place is pretty decent but today for some reason they failed to deliver. I must of got 2 new baristas because they seemed so lost. I asked for a iced caramel macchiato and was given a room temp macchiato with literally not 1 piece of ice. A friend asked for one of there special drinks and she said it tasted like they used half a bottle of syrup in it. I also asked for a muffin toasted with butter and they totally forgot about it in the oven and it ended up getting burnt and I had to wait for another. While the baristas did correct the issues without a problem, this experience definitely has me cautious about returning or at least with what barista takes care of me. read more

Poor attitude by staff - coffee average. Went in for a quick coffee and bagel one morning and was told there is a 50 cent surcharge for using my debit card! Considering a coffee shop opened up down the street and Starbucks is in driving distance they should certainly reconsider that policy. I will not be returning. read more

This coffee shop is super cute and has a wonderful chill atmosphere. I was really impressed with the crumb cake I ordered to go with my decaf coffee (which was also great). The cake itself was soft and the crumbs were large enough to enjoy on their own. Highly recommended! read more

I love The Bean! I have been an almost daily customer for the last 10 years, the past 5 (I think it's been that long) with the new owner. The service is great, the coffee is great as is the food. I do wish the chocolate chip cookies were more homemade, and less bakery style, but that's just a personal preference (wink, wink). While I'm mainly a morning/afternoon visitor, the scene at night is pretty lively. There is an open mic, live bands and on the weekends they have Frank Bruni reading cards who is pretty spot on! Sometimes I wish there was a "milk bar" as I'm pretty particular with how I like my coffee, but the staff is always accommodating when I ask for more milk, ect. I can say this place gets better each year, they are constantly evolving, making physical improvements as well as additions to the menu. Great place! read more

Love love the coconut iced coffee and roasted veggie quiche! Great local gem. I have always been a devout Starbucks goer but more recently I've decided to convert to the way of the bean. It's becoming more important to me to support local businesses especially when you can tell they really do put thought and energy into customer satisfaction. Absolutely fantastic. Being the stereotypical college student, I love coffee and I must say the Bab Bean not only has rich coffee but the atmosphere is the reason I go often. Its a great place to chat, relax, and enjoy a good cup of coffee, lunch, or pastry. Being I'm on break from my university which is closer to Canada than Long Island, I take every chance I can get to grab some friends and head over to the Babylon Bean. My friends and I usually end up at the Babylon bean after a dinner in Babylon. I'm a tea drinker, but my friends enjoy the coffee. A friend had their Vietnamese iced coffee today and really enjoyed it. They have a nice selection of teas, but you're not going to get a proper pot of brewed loose tea here....just tea bags but a nice selection....not the typical Lipton bags which is a relief. Their desserts are pretty good, as is their gelato. Desserts are mostly cookies and cakes in the case. Today I tried the gelato. I asked for a small, which I thought was a bit expensive at $4.50...but it was very good. I just really like the environment. read more
