My brother made reservations while we were going to a few wineries in the area. The day we went was a tad rainy but the weather made the experience more special. We were greeted by a cute grey tabby while we waited for our table. Once seated we were welcomed with delicious wines and great ambience. Slowly other wine tasters left and our group was the last. Nicole and Katy are amazing! Family owned and operated and it's just a wonderful spot and the wines.....well they speak for themselves! We loved the 100% Zin and Petite Sirah and then they do a 50/50 blend of zin and petite sirah that is off the charts and it's called Fondare! Their 2022 Rose of Pinot Noir was my favorite Rose from any Vineyard this year by far! The essence of strawberry when it's poured was delightful! And got to try their Goddard Pinot today for the first time and loved that too!!! This a beautiful tucked away winery, beautiful views and peace atmosphere. First time wine tasting at this location my favorite was the the 2017 Pinot Noir but I should say that all of their wines have a distinct taste. The Petite Zirah was very good as well, customer service is excellent and I do believe one can stop by and buy a bottle of wine and sit outside and enjoy a picnic but they do offer a board with cold cuts n nuts (Baci Board) the winery's atmosphere is very inviting. I will most definitely come back when the weather is nicer a do another tasting and hopefully I will see the twins next time. Highly recommend this winery out in the West Side Rd area. read more

Located on westside road, we found bacigalupi vineyard by going to the source of the grapes for many of our favorite wines. The Bacigalupis are farmers who now make their own wines. And the wines are delicious! Katey and Nicole are twin sister's who now run their winery. All of their wines are very good, from the rose of zinfandel, rose of pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot noirs, zinfandel, petite syrah, or Fondare (blend of petite syrah and zinfandel). Yum! Definitely a fun stop for us, especially as we became wine club members a few years ago. This year, we were able to attend their pinot and paella event! What a blast! read more

We decided to take some friends up to dry creek area to one our favorite family wineries ~ Bacigalupi. The plan was to taste some wonderful wines and picnic at a local park. Well. We've visited Bacigalupi several times now and count it as one of our top favorites! The wines are delicious, high quality creations. Renouvous and the Russian River Chardonnays are consistently our favorite, and the Goddard Pinot Noir and Petite Sirah are killer year after year! Katey and Nicole Bacigalupi are wonderful hostesses even though they actually manage the operation. I came here because these are the same people that nurture the Bacigalupi vineyard. I've enjoyed 2007 and 2008 zinfandels from William Selyem that sourced from Bacigalupi. John Tyler Wines are much better vineyard managers than winemakers. The tasting room is very comfortable and the pourers bring their dog (see pic) that clearly has run of the house. The room is accessed through a short gravel road that runs along a pretty creek. The tasting fee is $10 which $5 is waived for one bottle and $10 for two bottles purchased. read more

OH my god, I am IN LOVE. I had never heard of these wines nor tried any of these wines but the friendly hostess down the road at Twomey recommended we stop by. I am SO GLAD we did. This is a small and unassuming tasting room with really friendly and welcoming employees. The bar was standing room only but we were quickly greeted and well taken care of. The wines are INSANELY amazing and fairly priced. A reserve tasting is $20 and they will refund half of your tasting fee if you purchase a few bottles -- I don't like this new trend of not refunding your tasting fee with purchase, but at least you get $10 back. I'd give this place 5 stars if they'd refund the entire fee if you buy something. But nonetheless, I came away a new fan and a new wine club member. John Tyler wines ROCK! read more

Pam Bacigalupi helped us at first and she was fantastic- we learned a lot. Unfortunately we got handed over to Sydney, probably Napa would be a better fit for her demeanor. The star deduction is for 2 things- very small pours to taste wines (1 oz is standard but these were more like 2 sips) and after the group ordered over $1200 in wine, they would not comp the tasting fees which is pretty standard throughout Napa, Sonoma and beyond. We stepped in without an appointment and they welcomed us in. I have enjoyed several wines sourced from the Bacigalupi family so we thought it time to visit the source. I'm so glad we did because the wine was fantastic. They were down to their last few cases of Rose so should have been a priority. However, the Chardonnay was so good it made me wonder if it was comparable to Montelana's winner vs the French in 1976, in which Bacigalupi was the primary source. My husband and I came to Bacigalupi Vineyards because of the rich family history and legacy that has been built through their many years of farming. If you visit other wineries throughout Sonoma and Napa counties, you will see the Bacigalupi name often as they sell to countless other wineries in the area. We just had to taste the wine at the source! We were blown away by the wines, Zinfandel definitely being our favorite but also pleasantly surprised by the delicious Chardonnay (and we aren't even white wine lovers)! The Pinot Noir and Petite Sirah were equally as fabulous and we fell in love with their new Fondare which they were featuring as an additional tasting when we went in. In addition to the delicious wine, the customer service was fantastic. It was so cool to be able to interact with the actual Bacigalupi family, as they are third generation family owned and are often in the tasting room. We loved hearing their story, and how they have grown since the 50's. Their production is really small (under 1000 cases total) which to us, made the wine that much more special and knowing that quality is what is important to the Bacigalupi's and not the quantity. I definitely recommend visiting their tasting room next time you are in Healdsburg! Not only is Westside Rd. absolutely gorgeous, but the wine and customer service at Bacigalupi Vineyards is top notch! read more

While visiting Arista winery, one of their staff told us to check out John Tyler's tasting room which had just opened. I had also tasted a wine made from the Bacigalupi family at the Graton Ridge Winery. We were given complimentary tasting card from the Hop Kiln people. Arriving at the tasting room, Katie Bacigalupi warmly greeted us and set out a vertical tasting, one for 2004 and 2006 pinot noir and zinfandel. Delicious! It's easy to see why other wineries are buying their grapes to make great wine. And so do the Bacigalupi family. So now that I've established the staff is great as is the wine, there is one downside. The vertical tasting is $20 per person. Waived I'm sure if you buy wine. Their delicious wines go for $50 -60 per bottle. Worth it, I'm sure, but not a casual purchase for me. read more

This was a quiet oasis in the middle of a crazy day of wine tasting. The one woman who worked here was nice and knowledgeable. I liked the quaint nature of the setting here. She poured all 4 wines at once, and you got to compare the zins and pinots by year, tasting the subtle differences between each one. For me, it was a unique way to taste and I really enjoyed it. Everyone in our group agreed this was the best wine and most friendly staff of the 20 wineries we visited that trip. YES 20! We do this every year and cant wait to restock our cellar here next year. If you want older, perfectly aged wines that are ready to drink, Check this place out. They even make a killer petite syrah. Im not suprised a family thats been in the biz for 5 generations might have this nailed down. Good job. I dare you to visit and NOT fall in love with the Bacigalpi girls. So upset and disappointed that I came here even though it was recommended to me. They don't accept to industry which is a bit disappointing. We ordered 2 tastings and a cheese board. Before the board was made we asked what kind of cheeses were served since my friend is lactose. Most of them dairy cheese so we canceled it. Then they present a cheese board 10 minutes later. How do you not understand we don't want it? It's a slow location and there's only 2 groups (us and one other) takes over 10 minutes to pour our next tasting. This is unacceptable in so many ways. Will not be back and disappointed in the service even though another winery recommended it. read more

It's getting harder and harder to find authentic family owned wineries focused on fruit and great wine. The owner and daughter greated you during this informal but well executed tasting. The Fondare and Zinfandel were rich with multiple layers. Production is less than 1,000 cases leaving you little to no chance to grab this great wines anywhere but the winery. read more
