If I could give beyond 5 stars, I would. This was our first stop on my friend's bachelorette trip. We were specifically looking for wineries open until 6 pm because we arrived just after 5. Turns out Christopher Creek closes at 5 on Tuesdays BUT one of the employees was still there and told us to sit anywhere and he gave us a tasting anyway. We did the standard tasting and everything was so good. We all loved the viognier and ended up buying 2 bottles. I also liked the Chardonnay and enjoyed the Pinot noir as well. The setting is stunning. There's an Airbnb you can rent on site with a pool, pizza oven, and grill. Wind club members get discounts, and wine club members can also have tastings done in home, all over the country. Very cool perks, but also a nice tasting or sipping experience as well. read more

The wine was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised that our group of 9 all were able to be accommodated for and we all found something we loved. The view is great and this is a no fuss winery, unpretentious and focused on producing high quality wines. Everyone we bumped into was pleasant and friendly stopping to joke with us and show us what they were working on. We had the pleasure of a private tasting for an afternoon where we were privy to about 8 different wines to taste. Nothing I tasted was something I didn't want to finish, delicious wines. Friendly staff, gorgeous property and newly built out decks to savor that amazing valley view. The current owners have had the property since 2012, before that it was in the same family since the 70's. Sounds like the fresh energy is doing the wines some good by looking at older reviews. I really loved and walked away with the Meritage, Viognier, Sparkling Rosè, and a bottle of the Pinot noir rosè. Some I didn't even try but still bought because I had enough faith since everything I did try was lovely. Approachable wines, reasonable prices, friendly staff, beautiful property. ***3.5 Stars*** Top notch service in a very beautiful setting! Christopher Creek Winery really exudes the epitome of impeccable service. Our wonderful tasting experience with Corey was memorable for all of the right reasons. This was our first wine tasting stop during the Winelove weekend event, and it was a great way to start off our wine filled day. When we arrived, we were escorted to their back patio where we began our tasting with Corey. The views from their back patio are simply stunning! Sweeping views of their lush vineyards and the Sonoma Valley right in the forefront. Corey gave us a quick tour of the members only tasting area that overlooks the pool and back deck. Our tasting was actually conducted at a small tasting bar area on their patio. The only thing that was strange was that we had to stand the entire time. This was the only winery that we went to that day that actually made us stand up the whole time. It kind of irked me because we reserved this tasting a month in advance and there was nobody else there when we went. It was honestly kind of awkward and uncomfortable. Luckily, the remarkable service that we received from Corey kind of made us forget that we had been standing there the whole time. Corey poured us 4 wines from their current tasting menu (1 white wine, and 3 reds), and he also let us try a few other wines that weren't on the tasting menu. The wines overall were hit or miss, but our absolute favorites were the ones that he poured that weren't on the tasting menu. We all fell completely in love with their Cab Franc! It was so smooth and well rounded. It had such an amazing earthiness with an emphasis on the darker fruits. A beautiful slow slipping wine. But at $75 a bottle, a bit steeper than what we had hoped for a bottle of Cab Franc. But let me tell you; this man Corey was SELLING IT, mmkay?! He described every note of each of the wines that we tasted almost right down to the tee. He told us that their Cab Franc exquisite and that it was one of his favorites. He was absolutely right. That man surely knows his wines. It's funny because after we tasted at the other wineries, we really wanted to come back to get the Cab Franc. The price tag is high but so is the quality. Even though I felt uncomfortable standing, I'd still come back again for another fun wine tasting experience with Corey. I'd just hope that next time, I'd actually be able to sit down and enjoy the wine. read more

The location could not have been more perfect! This is stunning and iconic Sonoma County locally owned family vineyard and winery that sits high above the rolling hills of Healdsburg. We were mesmerized by the breathtaking panorama from the deck and admired the extensive view of the beautiful vineyards. So many fabulous wines. You have to come and partake in the goodness!! The tasting pours are generous and the staff is extremely knowledgable. However, we loved the friendly vibes that were highlighted by the accommodating hospitality! First was introduced by some dear friends of ours to this winery, which seemed very special initially. Two of their Italian wine makers made the treck all the way down from Northern California to Southern California to host privately in our friend's home. Although they were nearly 2 hours late to the tasting, these gentlemen made up for it with lively conversation and a history of the wine, the winery and their private castle experience available to members, in Italy. Based on the connection with these two individuals, we elected to purchase some wine, and were promised that our first purchase would be included in the annual shipments selected. We were also told that we would be charged $25 per shipment including the first- Fast forward a few weeks out-we were charged more than that -nearly $60 and I had to make a phone call to discuss the variance between what was promised for the shipment charge and what was charged. Fortunately, we received the stated price at the dinner as a result of my call. Further, I was also told that the wine purchased that night was actually not part of the membership and would not count as a shipment. That should've been my first red flag. Today, I had a very unacceptable interaction with Mitch Cuadros their director of hospitality- who, by the way, should not be in a customer service role. I have two other friends that were or are currently wine club members and they have also had very negative interactions with this individual. He is very pushy, interrupts, and quotes policy endlessly. I've been a member of multiple wine clubs for over 30 years -some of equal and even smaller size than Christopher Creek. Yet he told me that the other wineries do not actually operate in the way that I experienced ( things like flexibility on shipments, changing shipments, holding shipments and general customer service). He had the audacity to go through a series of emails saying, you opened this one and you didn't open that one -That I hadn't been looking at my email and that is why this happened. Kept saying "Madam" "you signed a contract" That you cannot skip a month. Policy, policy, policy, - Then, telling me that I did not make a call earlier in the year to get the shipping adjustment. Interrupting, and more interrupting. More quoting of policy. This experience makes the wine which is OK, good but not great tainted. He was more interested in quoting policy than rectifying the situation in a way that would encourage me to continue to be a member. So with that, I have formally canceled my wine club membership and can promise I will never recommend, and never buy another bottle from Christopher Creek again. I think one of the worst things is that this guy has a reputation within the winery for being this way. When we visited the winery this summer, we confided in the server and shared our negative experiences from before. He told us confidentially that many customers say this about Mitch. So WHY would you keep this guy in this job? Reoccurring long-term relationships with customers are grown on the basis of trust and treating members like family. And when have you quoted policy to your friends or family? With so many wineries in northern California, why would you subject yourself to this? I have a prediction.... if Mitch continues to be employed -interacting and behaving in this way, this winery will not be in business within the next couple of years. read more

Had an amazing time one Saturday wine-tasting in a group of 9 people. Great wine, views, setting, and friendly service from the head wine guy, Corey. Some fun facts we learned: - drunken mistakes are common when making wine--in 2000, one vintner at Christopher Creek made the deux barriques wine because thought he was combining only petite sirahs when in fact he was blending 2 petit sirahs and 2 Russian River zinfandels. These were from different parts of. the world, but both co-ferment until the end of their lifetime, then blend and sit together. Both wines grow in the exact same soil and climate, and are picked at the same time. Christopher Creek is pretty much the only winery that makes this one wine! 2 finance families (one from Texas) used to own the Winery, and one of their sons was named Christopher and used to play in a creek nearby. - you can pay money to buy land on to help make wine, and name it! The Zoella was made by a Florida man after his two dogs, Zoey and Bella. Christopher Creek was delicious, unique, and fun. It's an experience to be shared with loved ones. Shoutout to Corey--so fun and knowledgeable, will be back, and I am tempted to contemplate their Wine Family program where I can get wines delivered quarterly and get discounts to use their estate house and pool (save money on Airbnbs!) read more

Charming winery estate with panoramic views of verdant, rolling hills and a mind blowing wine selection. I can't imagine a better place to relax outside and sip some of California's best grapes. My standout reds were the 2016 Nebbiolo, the 2014 Millennium Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2016 Cabernet Franc. The 2017 Foppoli Oakless Chardonnay was also very refreshing, and makes for an amazing brunch/breakfast wine. The staff and owners were very knowledgeable, and walked us through the history of their family business, as well as the wine flavor profiles. read more

I just had a really strange experience here. I called them the first time and a lady said that 10 people can come even though only 5 people will taste, in other words splitting is allowed and our business is welcome. She gave me instructions on how to book the tasting on-line. Their booking tab was not working and I called the second time to arrange the tasting on the phone. This time a man answered and said that he will not honor 5 people tasting because of some type lack of the experience. I have been tasting and buying wine for the last 30 years and this type of treatment is not acceptable and not appreciated. 0 stars for the customer service! read more

This was one of the best experiences we have ever had in wine country, and I'm even in the industry! First off, the property sits atop a beautiful crest of hills overlooking endless vineyards and a beautiful mountain backdrop. This made for an incredible tasting out in a cabana next to the pool (members can use this pool in the summer, sweet perks!). The cabana sits right next to the fence which drops down to their vineyards on sight. The winery itself is a totally unassuming wood barn type of building, but the wines are world class. The owner, Liam, was able to pour for us for the majority of our visit, and was incredibly knowledgeable yet still down to earth in his flip flops and thrasher-esque tee shirt and board shorts. This is not your typical tasting room or tasting experience, but before you think that this homey, chill environment will be any less than a phenomenal and educational experience, take a moment to listen to the vast knowledge that Liam and his team provide. We started with a Viognier, which I am very picky about, and was pleasantly surprised by the bright acidity, yet still luscious mouthfeel that it possessed and moved our way through a very nice flight of on and off menu wines, all greater than the last. If you know me, you know I have a deep hatred for Pinot Noir (although I am never above trying it, and always taste with an open mind, allowing each one its own opportunity to impress me). I informed Liam of my distaste to Pinot... he promptly laughed and said, "hold on..." he proceeded to pour me one of the best Pinots I have ever had, and probably just changed my mind. I am thoroughly aware, not all wine is created equal and understand that all the Pinot I have despised in the past, were simply not made the way my palate enjoys. Their prices are very reasonable for their main tasting, ranging from about $30-$85 but they certainly have their high end stuff for those interested ranging from $100-$500, some cabs I have been told will blow your socks off, and I can't wait to come back to try them. All in all, this is an absolute treat of a winery that will make you think twice about all those stuffy, by-the-book wineries that don't let you relax and become acquainted with the wine you are going to purchase. Hitch a ride up there, say hello to Liam and kick back, relax, and enjoy such a phenomenal experience. Gorgeous views, mediocre wine. The staff was fairly young and a little inexperienced, but they still tried and were polite. They were very accommodating to our large group and allowed us to bring in food. I really like how they have poolside tastings, so you can enjoy the scenery of the rolling hills and vineyards. Great low-key atmosphere. They weren't too busy when we came here during Memorial Day weekend. They also have a house next door that you could rent. read more

This vineyard is in picturesque... breathtaking to be exact. And the wines are good too. I particularly liked their 2010 petite syrah which has not yet been bottled. The people there are very, very friendly. And the winemakers were pouring from the barrel, and you can definitely see the passion that goes into their art. And the kicker: tastings are only $5! We planned my friend's big 30th birthday celebration here in June, and had an amazing time. The staff was super friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. We called ahead of time to make a reservation for a group of 10 people. Their prices for wine tastings are very reasonable, and red and whites were great. We were able to bring picnic foods and even store some of the perishable ones in their fridge before serving. From start to finish, the folks at Christopher Creek upheld amazing customer service. The space is very nice, and views of the Vineyard are gorgeous. Would absolutely recommend this winery to anyone! read more

Beware of the business practices of this establishment! : 1. As a starter I suggest you google the owner, Dominic Foppoli. Draw your own conclusions. 2. Be very careful what you "subscribe" to. I attended a wine-tasting by Mr. Foppoli. At the end of the evening, I was given an opportunity to order wine, which I did. While the wines were indeed very good, in my opinion they were not worth nearly what I was charged. So be it... I ordered them. But to my surprise, a month or so later, I was billed $373 for another shipment of wine for "wine club subscription". While I did not recall joining any wine club, I received the wine and paid the credit card bill. The same day, I sent a message to Christopher Creek to cancel my wine club membership, and I requested documentation that I did indeed subscribe. While my request for documentation has been ignored to this day, about a week later I received yet another invoice for $200 for "early cancellation". Needless to say I am disputing this charge, and all communication to Christopher Creek goes unanswered. I recall at the wine tasting that Mr. Foppoli saying that he considers his wine club to be "family". I guess this is how he treats his family. read more

We signed up for a membership 6 months ago. No confirmation, no wine and they don't answer the phone or reply to email. Randomly,6 months later our card got charged for $360 with no email and no wine. I know they may be going through a tough time with the fires but running cards on members who signed up 6 months ago wit no warning or any delivery of wine is just flat out fraudulent. I'll take it up with the better business bureau. Update: they refunded the $360 and sent a generic email that said "we are sorry you no longer want to receive our wine" the funny part is we actually never received it to begin with. I hope they get it together. read more

Wine was great, experience sub par. We paid for the ultimate tasting, and in comparison to other smaller winery tastings in the area at a lower cost this one falls at the absolute bottom. It stated on the website you'll be there for 90 min. We were there for less than an hour. It was a rainy day, so I guess that can be the excuse? Every other small winery we went to led with heart, and joy to be sharing, and we were there longer than intended because of the wine and experience with the hosts. We don't expect the added length, but if you're paying for the experience... you should provide it. There was minimal heart and greater attention to 'good for you that you're having it'. I wish we'd saved $200 and kept hanging where we were before this vineyard. We bought wine, it's good. But don't pay for the owner experience... it's not even close to worth it. read more

Despite the wall full of award ribbons from every county fair, I find these wines are tannic, rough, horrible tasting and prone to give me a headache. Hands down my favorite wine in California! I stumbled across this place a year ago on a wine tour, joined the club because I loved the wines and I felt the winery had an interesting story. I was told they treat club members like family and they weren't kidding! My second trip back and this time I stayed on the property and felt like a real VIP. Dominic and Liam are amazing guys who make great wine and are really good people! I haven't had a bad Christopher Creek wine (reds) and the family winery, Foppoli is whites. All OUTSTANDING wines!!!
