We came here before a concert at MSG. We were looking for something quick and searched for a bar with "bites". This place exceeded all expectations. The vibe/decor is amazing... shelves, books, cozy couches, chairs.... Think Barnes and Noble "after dark". The drinks tasted pretty good. The honey badger comes with a huge block of ice that takes up most of the real estate in the whiskey glass... and after a few sips, you wonder why only ice is left (could have used a bit more of "drink" a little less ice). The mulled cider was good too and they have a small but good selection of craft beers. The wings were really good, sweet, spicy, cooked well (still juicy), and the wings were a good size too. The burger was pretty good, standard fare for an upscale bar burger. The server was pleasant and attentive. We had an excellent experience here. read more

Stayed at the Kimpton hotel and visited the Back Bar a few times. Really dug the vibe of the place, with a main bar and stool seating area at the front and some couches and tables in the back; one area was also a bit elevated from the main floor. I mainly stuck with the Autumn Old Fashioned, which was good and had a hint of sweetness from the aged maple syrup. read more

We stopped in at this bar several times while we stayed at the Kimpton Eventi. It's extremely noisy at night so it's not the place to go for a relaxing drink. They do have a very nice small pizza and a good salad but other food options are minimal and there is no bread available. Drinks were good, but we found that when we asked for a house vodka we were charged for a premium vodka and that was annoying. They also did not have Bloody Mary Mix or tomato juice which I found a bit odd for a bar. If you don't mind the noise, the decor is very nice. read more

Loved the space, as it was cozy yet modern, but the service was not the best as they only had one bartender and he was making cocktails for the entire back area as well as the packed bar. Poor guy was so overwhelmed! We waited for a while to place an order and then felt as if every time he came to us, we needed to order or it would be forever before we got a drink again. That said, the drinks were delicous but overpriced. Then again, welcome to NYC! Definitely a bar hotel, but a nice spot to stop in or start your date night. Glad we got to experience it! read more

I found myself at Back Bar to close out the night with some of my colleagues after our holiday dinner. There was no real rhyme or reason for choosing this spot, we just noticed it from the street and thought that it would be a good spot - so off we went. As suggested by the name, BB is located inside Hotel Eventi. When we entered it was actually though the attached restaurant which was closed, however we were directed over to the bar which was little more lively. The space is kinda compartmentalized with different sitting areas; while there's a traditional bar area, there are also soft chairs and couches which gave it a cozy feel. We took a seat by the fireplace which really reinforced the aesthetics. The menu had standard cocktails plus some craft ones. We had one round - I had something carbonated with apple in it , I honestly don't remember the name but it was good. Service was interesting - we were not waited on, instead we went up to the bar to order. I'm not sure if this is standard or due to the time of night we were there but I thought it was worth mentioning. Overall, Back Bar is fine - the vibes were on and my drink was good. A friend and I came here for afterwork drinks and was highly surprised with the live band. It was a very cute vibe. Now if your on a date this could be a sexy starter. Since this is inside of a hotel seating is not a problem. The staff was excellent especially our sever a young lady working in the back my the outdoor seating. The drinks were that good I forgot her name lol!! We order the chicken sandwich and the meatballs, both were very delicious tender and seasoned. This particular night the bar Blacksails had a pop up in the back of Back Bar and their drinks were strong and refreshing at the same time so tasty. We also ordered the Cuban sandwich back there. I used to come here when it was The Vine. I actually didn't know it had changed until met up with a friend here for drinks. The menu isn't as good anymore and I was devastated to hear they no longer serve the Frose! This is the first place I ever tried it and it is (well was) still the best I've ever had! For a drink, I ordered a Mezcal Negroni; it was all right. We also ordered the fried calamari, crisps & dips and French fries. There's nothing really inventive about the menu and it is standard bar fare. For the most part, the food was fine but I really didn't like the crisps & dips. Our waitress was nice and the food came almost too fast. The atmosphere is better than your standard hotel bar vibes. Not sure I will come back here. read more

Came here for drinks after work and had a pleasant experience. The place has a great ambiance, both romantic and professional. It is a sit yourself place with tables, couches, booths and an outdoor section (lots of options). They have a very unique list of cocktails that I've never seen at other bars. Found this place while looking for a place to get a drink with a friend whose office was in the neighborhood. It's tucked back in a hotel, and the bar area was bustling and loud (but not too loud) on a Tuesday at 5:45. We got a table in the quieter back area (had reservations but didn't need them). The service was a little spotty--one person said he'd bring menus but never did, and then the server came by to take our order, except we didn't have menus. The drinks came super fast once we did order, though. All the descriptions of the cocktails were appealing. My friend had ordered the Early Harvest cocktail and said it was very Mezcal forward, but liked it enough to order a second one. I go the Blueberry and Thyme Caipirinha which was delicious. We also ordered the Calamari Fritti, which was tasty. The bathrooms were beautiful and trippy! Felt a little bit like being in a house of mirrors. There were plaster hands decorating the sink area. Fantastic vibes, really good food, reasonable price, solid menu tucked way in the back of the hotel entrance. We were looking for a place to get dinner in the area and didn't find anything that wasn't a pre-fix or long sit down dinner. This was a recommendation from the Steak Frites place next door Wanted to give it a 5* as initially the service was fine, server went out of his way to get us a soda... but then he disappeared. Literally disappeared after serving our drinks. Someone else brought out food out, and eventually had to track down someone at the bar to pay.
