My mini doodle looking out the window while she waits for her appointment :)

I'm new to the area and Back Bay Veterinary has been a god send for my miniature golden doodle, Maisie! They've made her transition from our old vet in Maryland so smooth and always provide the highest standard of care. Prices are kind of steep, but in my opinion the awesome team, flexible hours and great location/facility is all worth it. My pup has a really sensitive stomach and while we were trying to figure out the cause they recommended a few different diets I could try before making us go through a series of expensive tests, which to me is a sign of a vet you can trust. My fur baby loves all the treats they have and as a human, I'm a big fan of the amenities like water and coffee in the office, food for sale on the spot and an easy-to-use online pharmacy. Highly recommend!

Best vet ever!!! They are so attentive and caring!!! My dog had done a heart ultrasound in Brazil because she was diagnosed with a heart murmur and other vets didn't want to refill her meds for me when I got back to the US because they said the ultrasound was in Portuguese even though all they needed to see was the imagery to know what was wrong. Other vets wanted to charge me hundreds for another ultrasound. Not back bay though!!!They were so accommodating!!! Not just this time, but every time I need them!!!When I ran out of meds on another trip they quickly emailed me a new prescription same day. When I called them to tell them my dog was fainting they recommended me a few pet hospitals for me to find a cardiologist because their traveling cardiologist wouldn't have an opening as soon as I needed. They are so sweet they have been texting me everyday to check on my dog since I told them I couldn't find another cardiologist on the places they recommended and they are trying to contact their cardiologist to see if she can make an exception for me!!! I can't be more thankful for them!!i know my dog is in the best hands when I take her there and I can't recommend enough!!!its very stressful for a mother to not know what is going on with their child and how long she still has on this earth and back bay has been there for me 110% through it all!!! Thank you!!!!!

Spent over $1,300 for a consult and spay just for them to be closed for 2 days in a row with less than a 24 hour notice. Waited over 30 minutes at the initial consult appointment. Day of the spay appointment, I drop my cat off at 8:00 AM and was not even given a phone call with an update. Tried to call them for an update at 1:45: PHONES OFF!!!!! Called at 2:00 PM to find out the my cat has BEEN SITTING IN A KENNEL AND STILL MOT SPAYED! She was not spayed until 3:00 in the afternoon with the excuse that "it's busy" but they'll put her under and give her something to come back up. AN 8lb CAT?! She's not a science project. She was in a kennel for more time than she was in recovery which was a little less THAN 2 HOURS! Arrived at 5:30 for the pick up and Waited over 15 minutes in an empty lobby until someone decided to step out from the back. Brought my cat home with oral gabapentin and she could not tolerate it. Was advised by a TECH to continue giving oral gabapentin when my cat was clearly adversed to it and told me to call back if she was still having problems. Tried to call back and they were closed from 12:00 on Friday until that Monday. Not even ONE doctor on staff? Closure announcement made LESS THAN 24 hours in advanced AND made through their GOOGLE ACCOUNT? Not even an email or automated phone call to inform patients? Sketchy business, sketchy service and I will NEVER go back. I will be letting everyone I know to steer clear of this vet unless they want to spend a grand for lousy service.

I will NEVER adopt from the MSPAC again. I adopted a frenchie from Nevins Farm a year ago. They told me that her salary gland was leaking into a pouch on her neck but that she was fine. That if it turns hard it will need surgery. But assured me it was not a "real" problem. Now its hard. Causing discomfort. Affecting her eating. Current vet can't do Sialadenectomy surgery because to close to juggler and judging by his shaking I think he has Parkinsons. Other vet wants deposit of over $7300 just to schedule Sialadenectomy and price to increase during surgery. Called MSPC Angell in JP to ask if they could help and do Sialadenectomy for less since their doctor at Nevins Farm caused the issue pulling teeth before her adoption. (Problem is not on her intake form but is on adoption forms so injury happened w them.) I was told no. They need to $265 for evaluate to see if she needs Sialadenectomy even though 2 other vets said she does. Surgery will be well over $6500. Told me I am to pay full price but they accept financing or I can put it on a card because its so expensive. The woman literally laughed at me. Audibly laughed at me. This poor dog will probably be put down because pet insurance wont cover it. (pre- existing condition). Her current vet can't do it. Can't find a vet who actually cares. MSPCA won't help even though they caused it. And I dont have thousands to pay for what she needs. Heartbroken. My poor girl.

Initially we thought the bird was dead, but it wasn't. However, it was very lethargic. We tried to provide it some heat and thought it might be a good idea to bring it to Boston commons. They let us in, we explained the situation, and they gave us two fair options - let the vet check it out and if they determine there is little hope for recovery, ethically euthanize it, or, if it does show signs of recovery after 30 min - 1 hr, they'd bring it to Boston Commons. We didn't have time to stick around for the final decision, but I do hope it did recover. The staff there was really friendly, thanked us for being good Samaritans, and had us fill out a form. They also did offer us complimentary snacks and beverages. I was satisfied with my unexpected visit here.
