All-inclusive dining event with private fireworks on the immediate beach front. All-night facepainting, balloon artists and party favors for the future generations of the resort community. My group was removed from the course after we accidentally picked up the wrong golf ball. We immediately apologized, but despite this, we were treated harshly and unfairly. A white woman involved in the situation looked at us with clear hostility, and we were made to feel dehumanized and targeted. We attempted to explain what happened, but Jo Jo sided with the other party without hearing us out or offering any explanation. When I asked if we were being treated this way because we are Black, the reaction from her and others nearby was a look I will never forget. I strongly advise others to avoid this course. It is poorly maintained and, more importantly, does not appear to be welcoming or respectful to Black or Hispanic golfers. I will not be returning and encourage others to take a stand against this kind of behavior.
