I was excited to obtain a quote and work with Back Nine Greens as they were highly recommended by a satisfied customer. There was definitely disconnect when I reached out for a quote. I made 6 calls and spoke to the receptionist, Brianna, all 6 times. She was polite and promised a return call each time. After the 4th call for "Cheyne" to call me back, I requested a supervisor call me which was promised as well. Marco never called either. On the 5th call, I was told I was referred to another sales representative, Todd. No call from him either. I called a 6th time and was even given the Todd's phone number so I could be sure to pick up his call which I'm still waiting for. I then went on line and requested a quote and am still waiting for that as well. I have given up. I signed a contract with a competitor and am having turf installed at our residence next week. While our project might not be huge (approximately $11,000), four of our neighbors are also working with the company we decided to give our business to. Perhaps Back Nine Greens is just too busy and not interested but a returned phone call, at least one of six requested, would have been appreciated. read more

First putting green they installed for us a few years ago at our old house looked great and worked great. After we moved to a new residence a year ago, we had them installed a bigger size putting green in the back yard. See pictures of the current putting green, this is 8 months after the installation. Crab grasses growing through, Green is not useable. We reached out to Pat and John for a resolution, 3 weeks past, nothing. Don't call back at the time promised. Finally they want another $10K to rectify the problem. It seems like they work great under normal work circumstances. But when there is a problem, they don't stand behind their job. Very disappointed, will not use them again nor recommend them to any of our friends. read more

Why do you have to place a star at all? I have still not heard from these guys. They are a shameful company with zero ethics. Walked into the office where receptionist maskless. She brought out the manager, also without a mask. When asked, he said it was ok we were wearing masks and he appreciated it but their policy was no masks. Take that where you will. I should have left then. This is not a political issue; how rude and disrespectful. I am going elsewhere. Seeing no way to respond to comment made by employee : the receptionist was NOT wearing a mask and made no attempt to put one on. The manager came out NOT wearing a mask and made the statement above that they had a NO MASK POLICY in the office. We were masked. Maybe someone needs to establish a policy and enforce it. Back Nine Greens based in Palm Desert but working all over SoCal is just a marketing machine. They hire crews to complete jobs. It takes 6-7 phone calls, texts, voice mails and emails to get our sales guy to call us back. They did a terrible job on our putting green. The green is 11" higher than our patio creating a steep slope that you have to climb to get onto the green. When they. arrived to install the green, the dirt was 2-3" below the patio. They. should have told us that the green was going to be very high or given us the option of grading it further (either on our own or additional cost). We had major flooding and mud coming under the green from a back slope due to the height of the green. They came out two months later and added some drains but had the nerve to charge me an additional $219 after I spent almost $20K with them. You are better off calling a few different local turf companies and asking to see examples of their work around your area. Never use these guys ever. read more

If I could give Back Nine Greens a Zero, I would. Built our home at The Madison Club and hired BNG to install our putting green. We were very excited for this install but could not have been more disappointed! The surface has never rolled properly ... very slow and extremely rough. Good product, although expensive. Terrible customer relations. Improperly measured and gave me a quote. I did not question it at the time thinking maybe I was wrong. Paid a down payment to proceed. I measured again and did not get the measurement they arrived at. Called them and they came out again, but stood by their measurement. Hey, I am a math major and know Geometry. I went with a competitor, also great quality but expensive. Surprise, surprise, they came up with the same measurement I did. Even losing the deposit, yes BNG does not give back money if you pay them up front, I still saved hundreds by using an accurate measurement. read more

We recently installed a putting green in the backyard of a newly constructed house in Palm Springs. I was hesitant at first because they are not a cheap addition to a new house and budgets are always running tight at the end of a project. I called Back Nine Greens as I had seen their advertising that they had a turf that was good for pets and cooler in the summer. Daryl came out and showed us what Back Nine could do. We had added a room onto our home and the yard around it was a mess. Like a junk yard with big rocks, old plants, uncorking sprinklers and uneven ground. Daryl gave us the estimate and we got the work done this week, less than a week later. The before and after is astounding! In just one day, a whole crew came out and leveled the ground, cleared the huge rocks away, cleaned up the constriction mess, planted plants for us, fixed and added irrigation to the existing roses and bouganvilla and installed a dog friendly turf. It looks AWESOME! Like night and day. Like a model home looks. The crew was professional, experienced and answered all questions that we had.
